Getting the best out of your DJI 2 Goggles

I've had lots of issues with these DJI Goggles 2, vs the Walksnail goggles, or the old DJI FPV V1 V2 goggles, and this video shows what I've done to make them work for me.

The lenses on the original goggles are larger and your eyes position has more wiggle room. That could be the reason why image is sharp with the original goggles. I also can't see whole image in focus with the Integra. Wondering if not to return it. Buying a blanket to cover my head and DJI RC seems cheaper and more reliable solutions to deal with bright sun light.
Great overview of the goggles 2. Fortunately for me my head and eyes work well with them. But I've seen enough complaints to believe that DJI just had one guy try the prototype on, yep they fit me boss. 👀

Everyone in China are all flat faced and they didn't think to cater to their most exported country USA with we all have narrow long faces to fat faces but not flat faced
You’re absolutely right about the fit and focus problems. I have a narrow face and have been trying all sorts of foam modifications. Even with a good fit I still have problems getting the whole screen in focus and have to continually play with eye piece knobs. I see that DJI just released a new version of the goggles (Integra). I wonder if they’ve addressed some of the fit issues? Looking forward to seeing some reviews of the new version.
Hey Steve, I doubt they have fixed anything. Seems to be the same mold.

Yeah. This video came right before the integra was launched. Since then I offer the integra in my shop, not the G2 ;)

The barrel plug adapter in the description is not suitable for Goggles 2. The plug is wrong size (DC5.5) and seems to supply 20V which is twice allowed for Goggles 2.
The barrel for goggles 2 is 2.1 and you need a cable that provides only 9v as I show in the video. I’ll check the link why is not showing the correct cable
Have you tried using contact lenses? That would be one way to check if the problem with the edges being out of focus is due to the diopters or not.
Good thinking. Unfortunately I have never been good with contacts. I’ve tried them twice in my life and never got really used to them, so I haven’t wear them in a while. But I’ve heard this report from people with no sight problem and they are blaming the short distance between the eye and the goggle lens.
Bought the USB c barrel connector in the link you provided and it's too large .. also, puts out 12 volts and goggles 2 is rated for 7-9 volt range... You will slowly kill your goggles with that cable.
You have to be super careful with those cables. As mentioned in the videos the manufacturers are not to be trusted and and you should measure and find the right cable. I had to buy a few before I got one giving 9v despite the website saying they were 9v since the beginning. You can see in the video my cable is outputting 9v, and as said it was not easy to find both the barrel size and the right voltage.
I have the same issue, with different visible image sharpness, for sides and center, but, I guess, it’s a price for compact size of G2 - screens, physically, are too close to eyeballs, so, distance to the screen’s center and to screen’s side differs very, to each other.
If that's true, why does my walksnail goggles and HDO2 works without an issue? The HDO are so close to my eyes that my eyelashes touch the screen, and still not a problem with sharpness at all.
@@NordFPV Interestingly. I’ve not seeing these glasses in real. Does they have a lens, wider, than G2 ones? Also, as far as I know, they have diopter range no so wide, like G2, so, it plays in optics behavior.
@@NordFPV try scaling the screen size down to 80 or 85% I don't use diopters, but using 90% made the edges much more clear for me. Good luck 🤞

The cheaper battery pack of the Goggle V2 just fits the Goggle 2. Only thing is what you miss is the locking to battery housing of the USB-C connector.
So the cable from the G2 fits the battery pack of the FPV V2?
The point should be that this battery that comes with the goggles is VIRTUALLY WORTHLESS! I immediately sold mine. I then made a cable to go into my pocket and use a regular 4S lipo. So much better. That short life battery they include is ridiculous! - and, like most accessories DJI sells, worth around 1/4 of what they sell it for! 🤑🥴
@@KOrnhOliO1 But your cable has some BEC or something right? You can't feed the goggles with a 4S directly.

I had to get a different foam and even though my nose is not big. I had to cut the nose part of the foam to be able to fly comfortable
I wonder if I can remove something else from the nose part to get it more comfortable. Thanks for the idea Daniel.
If you use the goggles without any foam it will be tilted up, giving more room to the nose. You can also put some foam just on the bottom to tilt it even more and to remove light leaks
Can you not use the v2 ( old one) over your glasses ?
If you want. Yes. But the diopters are much more comfortable

Yeah - that not being able to get center and sides sharp at the same time - that drives me crazy. At least now I know it's not solvable.
Someone else commented on reducing the screen size to 90 or 85%. Maybe give that a try.
It is solvable if you can move your eyes CLOSER to the lens. We need a faceplate that help our eyes get closer to the lenses. Try the goggles without any faceplate, you will see everything sharp and clear.

@@RC.Aviators Ahhh - you mean no faceplate, not even the stock faceplate.
@@TimsDrones yeah without any plate... Just bare goggles... Remove the stock as well and slam your head against the lenses... You will see the full image crisp and clear... Ofcourse, light leaks would be there all around...
You need to get your eyes CLOSER to the lenses to get a sharper image all around... If you remove the foam and hold the goggles without foams right against your head, you will see an absolute sharp image from center to corners.
We need a faceplate that helps our eyes get closer to the lenses without causing leaks from sides.

Just try the goggles WITHOUT ANY FACEPLATE and you will know what I am talking about.
Since you are a designer of head straps, it may be easy for you to design a new faceplate that can get our eyes CLOSER to lenses...
Having eyelashes rub against the lens is very uncomfortable for me, but I also fly like this without foam. I just put some foam on the bottom to remove light leaks and to pad my cheeks a little bit, so the goggles tilt up and put less pressure on my nose.

@@NordFPV super unlucky timing. Sorry about that. At least the newest ones have a name, so it won't be 2, V2, fpv2. May I suggest "Big ol faithfuls" "Slim hurts" and "Integra"
We all got screwed. There needs to be a class action lawsuit! Every You Tuber stated they were perfect, great, the next best thing since sliced bread! I hate mine, they pinch my nose, blurred at the bottom. Absolute garbage!
Mine were awful too out of the box, pinching my nose to the point where I couldn’t breathe. And my nose is pretty small. But then I watched KababFPV’s video about these goggles and he said he uses them without the foam, with plastic directly on skin. That works for him and it works for me too, I just put some foam on the underside to remove light leaks and to have a little bit of padding on my cheeks, and now it’s very comfortable on my nose.
I have faced the same experience. The fit of the Goggles 2 is just crap
It’s such a shame. I really wanted DJI to come out with something good.

Sounds like too much problems with these new goggles. I don’t event want to try it :)
There are many rumours about DJI releasing new goggles soon. I'm recommending all my customers using DJI to wait.
The Goggles 2 fitment is horrible and we all know it DJI. Pure Chit fitment and field of vision blows 👍👍🇺🇸

Thanks. It's kind of unbelievable that a company the size of DJI can do a product which is not prepared to fit a bigger size of the market. They should be able to prevent or foresee these things.
Maybe it fits the flat Chinese faces and that's why they didn't know about it😅

Good thing is that many new foams are coming out to market to help out. One should fit your face.
