Ian, thanks for the review! You go into so many technical details! (battery from inside, FOV overlays, RF spectrum, ...) Pleasure for my technical mind. You're unique source of many important info that the community wants to know.
Thank you for this video, I'm very new to the drone world and already in dire need of some FPV. As someone with a lot of experience wearing NVGs in a military setting, that counterweight from the battery pack sounds like a godsend regarding neck fatigue. I don't know how much the goggles might weigh compared to the NVGs I wore, but any weight in the front of the neck is always putting an additional strain on the neck muscles and I'd rather avoid that as much as possible. I understand I could just attach the battery pack on another model to the back strap, but having it already integrated is a huge plus for me. I think you've sold me on the Integra as well as earned a subscriber. Keep up the good work and thanks again!
DJI finally did _something_ about the comfort and optics issue that so many had with the Goggle2. I can see everything clearly edge to edge in these. The field of view is smaller, yes, but that's not what I'm thinking while flying. Since it's at 100% of the display configuration, it looks natural. With the headstrap, you can angle it upward off your cheekbones and a nose a bit to relieve the bridge pressure if you're someone like me. The face mold needs to be reworked to make the comfort perfect, but it's probably not going to happen -- the head pillow/strap system is an alright compromise. Definitely better than Goggle2 for me in those categories, great overview Ian.
It's interesting one of the reasons Fat Shark gave for their HD3s having a narrower FOV than their HD2s was that it was not possible to engineer blur free edges with ther HD2s wider (50deg or so IIRC) than the narrower HD3s FOFV (45 deg IIRC). I may have the FOVs of the Fat Sharks wrong - it's been years since I've read FatShark spec sheets, but it sounds like DJI might be having the same challenge.
@@1337fliteHD2 FOV was 50 degrees and HD3 dialed that back to 42 degrees but you are correct nonetheless in your assessment that this was an issue that Fatshark also faced and it was a reason for scaling back the FOV. when you were flying and talking. the pinched nose sound and only able to breath through the mouth tells me all I need to know. Thanks for taking one for the team. We also know that DJi headstraps wear out badly/quickly. Throw an internal power cable into the mix and that does not sit well with me at all. V2s are still my go to. Plus I can add head tracking for fixed wing with those as per my vids. Cheers
Just to note the flight Audio went though heavy noise removal (resolve voice isolation) as it’s windy as hell. The stock audio is much less nasal. I’m not going to say it’s perfect on the nose however it’s better than my G2. However the overall face shape is the largely the same as it’s still not perfect. It’s better but not perfect.
@@MadRC wonder if they will release the faceplate as a spare part. Seems like they have added a little bit of plastic to push the face away slightly... Think that might make the burred edges worse on the g2 mind
Thanks for the info but I still like the goggles 2 with the focus adjustment. At first I hated the touch pad but now I'm used to it and it didn't bother me anymore.
Good explanations but in a few years with stretching and getting wet because of the summer heat. How much for a new battery and head strap ?. I have the Google V2 and Goggle 2 I like them both and both got new face foam. The Goggle V2 are so good and solid. The goggle 2 reminds me of my Fatshark HD O2 as far as fitting for the face. But I needed a new face foam for them as well. Got a big head,,,lol. Thanks for that. Very happy to have paid a bit more for the goggle 2.
Glad they gave it a name like the Integra. Goggles 2 goggles v2 like what the hell. been using a battery clip for the back of the gogglesv2 and short cable and they are perfect. I'm surprised DJI didn't make the built-in headstrap battery replaceable. Could have been done fairly easily and would have provided another way to bring in sales. Everyone wants multiple batteries "just in case".
I'd love to see a teardown of these. I'm curious to see if we could non-destructively remove the antennas and replace with u.fl to SMA (perhaps with 3D printed adapters).
There is a couple videos of someone crudely modding them with external sma antennas but replacing the u.fl to sma with hole drilled but not a 3d printed adapter or anything to replace the original antennas. Someone should see if replaceable strap and wire for the strap to battery in case it fails in the future out of warranty. Would be nice to see same mods as V2 goggles which I cannot find for cheaper like digital to analog, not likely without AV in.

Hi Ian, could you please explain the FOV to me? Are the screen sizes of both goggles the same and that you can see is different or you see the same but the sizes of the screens are different? Thank you
Why couldn’t they have just made the GPS/battery pack as an add-on to the existing goggles? Do you think there’s any chance they will offer this in the future so that existing goggles to owners can have the convenience of not flying with a phone connected?
Is there any work around the fact that you need an armed FC to get the goggles up to full power? I mostly fly fixed wing FPV with conventional RC gear and no FC. >Is there any way to do that with the 03 system?
@@MadRC It definitely doesn't work at full power without an FC, and even if you manually turn off the LP, it still runs at low power. I use O3 on three different planes, one of which had an older version of the Arduplane software (4.2) and it didn't recognize the arm command, and the video feed would cut out at 300-400 meters.
Great content and review. I like what I see but a huge exception. What would have been a bright idea by dji is to utilize new screens to achieve the 120hz refresh rate the v2’s have. It’s a noticeable difference when flying aggressive freestyle and it baffles me.
i think we kinda lack good info on what its like to use the v2's with 03 units, 16-9 cameras versus native 4-3 cameras, i noticed a big difference switching from 16-9 to 4-3, more than i anticipated. so i'm imagining going back with the 03 units as a definite loss of vertical fov, possibly experts can fly fine with it but beginners and non experts would really miss that extra fov.
I think some features were missed off your review, a big one is wireless streaming, I say this is big as I can see this being a thing to connect the mini 3 pro RC to the goggles via the wireless function they stripped from integra
The wireless streaming is part of the WiFi that I said was no longer there. As of now DJI has done nothing with it other than being able to receive DLNA video. There is no wireless streaming out from the Goggles 2 and the Goggles 2 are not comparable with the Mini 3 Series anyways.
Can you unplug and remove the original DJI head strap and replace it with your own? Or do you have to use the DJI one with the build in battery? I would wan tot use my own head strap with an external battery over the USB-C connector.
Is there a way to shut off the sensor for the screen for goggles 2, would prefer the screen on when I turn the googles on, or should I just put a piece of tap over the sensor.
i would buy them, but i hate, that i cant remove the battery pack and use a 2s on the side of a custom strap....this is pretty sad, why they didnt buildt in a normal power plug....
Thanks Ian for your excellent review. I have eye issues, glare related. I'm interested in the DJI goggles for the reduction in glare and hopefully better sight of where the drone is going. I'm primarily interested in getting excellent video. The video you show is likely from the controller or headset. I have the Mavic 3 Pro. Do you know, will the video record in 4k in the Mavic 3 Pro while using the goggles? Is there an option with the Integra goggles for Cinematic mode? Or is that unnecessary in your view?
I have a question I'm not sure if you covered this or if I just missed it in your video. I just purchased some Integra's to replace my v1's. Had to update both my vista and the FW on the Integra's just to get it to bind. Did not have an option as I had to switch under status to DJI Air Unit which doesnt exist unless you update the FW on the goggles and apparently they have to "match". Now I used to have a bunch of BeatFlight GPS OSD settings on v1's. You know you have to enable the custom OSD in the settings. But on the Integras I see no such option. I see none of my Betaflight OSD settings. Please tell me I missed this somewhere. Not having my GPS indicators in OSD is a deal breaker as I fly long range and really need to have the features enabled. Any one point me how to enable BF OSD on the Integra's. Thanks in advance!
You should be able to get full Betaflight OSD with that setup. There is a setting but it should be the same as before. The good with this update is you don’t need Wtfos. So is any of the OSD showing ?
Great detail. I had the DJI FPV drone for about a month but the goggles FPV 2 was just so uncomfortable that it all went back. I am keen for the new Avata with the new goggles but a bit worried that the goggles is still shaped like the old one. Do you know if there was a major change in face shaping?
Great review, Ian. Maybe now it’s time for a comparison between the v2s and the Integras. With the new firmware update for the v2 goggles and legit support for canvas mode the only advantage I see with the Integra over v2s is the oled screen. Prove me wrong! Man, I love the way my OSD looks now ❤❤❤
Yeah but the oled screen is supposedly a lot better? I just bought them will post here my experience. Currently using the v2 Goggles. I am just hesitant on the fitment of the nose at this point. I tried the Goggles 2 and did not like them at all. Immediately returned those.
@@publicname515 I tried the goggles 2 on at bestbuy and surprisingly they fit me pretty well. I’ve had my nose flattened unintentionally a few times though so that might have something to do with it lol
Man this is frustrating, I need glasses to see, but the 1 diopter interval of the Integra is a bit too coarse, I'd want 0.5 diopter intervals. Maybe DJI will sell more of the lenses individually?
Lookup Honsvr lenses. I ordered custom lenses from them for my exact prescription, including astigmatism, for $50. -Just looked them up and they already offer sets for these goggles
That because my Avata is bound to my G2 for DJI Care refresh warranty. You have to link them and you can only fly 5 times with other goggles after it’s done. I would have to swap the binding to remove that message. That’s noting to do with the Integra specifically just the way the DJI Care Refresh works.
In your video keeps appearing incompatible goggles, aircraft and remote controller, this is the warning to pair other integra googles and have a pilot and a passanger?
Hello Ian and I really enjoyed this full review. I have a question if you can help. I’m blind from the right eye. Can I use any DJI goggles with the avata that I want to buy? I’ve asked DJI regarding the goggles 2 and although they said I can, then they changed their reply to no, because the visual is different on each eye. Can you please tell me if that is correct and if this is the same with the intera? Is there another goggle which has the same visual on each eye so I can use? Thank you in advance!
I sent it back the Integra . I like the optics 44 ( is perfect)... but the image is bent( top and bottom) not so much in goggles 2 . Mach light 220-240g on Integra without battery. The deal break is built in battery. You cannot modify it, the strap cannot be replaced ( the cable and connector are very fragile... I know what I'm talking about). That's the reason I sent it back. I wish to be the same as goggles 2 regards the battery. I'm very sad. 😢
What angle and ground speed setting do you recommend for GPS Rescue with betaflight 4.4.0, Chimera 7 Pro V2 and 8000mA LiIon battery? The goal is to maximize the distance traveled with a minimum of battery.
Why is no one using the top strap yet?! It seems like a big deal to alleviate that pressure on the nose, I want to know how much a difference it makes.
great review! Thank you for that! Is it possible to take off the headstrap and exchange it with a 3rd party one somehow? (maybe with custom made parts?) If so, what does the power input connector on the goggles side looks like?
Will it work with dji mini 3 pro and dji goggles integra and older dji fpv motion controller instead of dji mini 3 pro and dji goggles integra and dji rc motion2 combination?
Surprised the antennas are not replaceable. Is it possible they're just harder to detach? Also, how does the battery backpack connect to the goggles, would it be possible to replace the battery backpack with a custom battery? Oh, and does it work with any USB power bank, or does it require QC or USB PD?
DJI specifically says they're non detachable. I assume someone will come out with a mod that bypasses that, but its sort of a hit and may be a dealbreaker for me that they aren't removable
All antennas even if soldered (I’ve done tons of naked full size original air units removing mmcx etc) can be removed and I’m assuming there’s a thin coax cable of some sort and prob soldered to the pcb. It’s super easy to do but I get that some people won’t want to bust out a reflow station.

i would buy them, but i hate, that i cant remove the battery pack and use a 2s on the side of a custom strap....this is pretty sad, why they didnt buildt in a normal power plug....
So is any of the OSD showing ?
can we replace the strap of integra google?
Great detail. I had the DJI FPV drone for about a month but the goggles FPV 2 was just so uncomfortable that it all went back. I am keen for the new Avata with the new goggles but a bit worried that the goggles is still shaped like the old one. Do you know if there was a major change in face shaping?
Thank you for the review. How many other dji drones will these work with?
@@SkeezyFPV 🤣
do they have any form of video in?
Man this is frustrating, I need glasses to see, but the 1 diopter interval of the Integra is a bit too coarse, I'd want 0.5 diopter intervals. Maybe DJI will sell more of the lenses individually?
Get prescription ones done? That way any astigmatism can also be dealt with
Lookup Honsvr lenses. I ordered custom lenses from them for my exact prescription, including astigmatism, for $50. -Just looked them up and they already offer sets for these goggles
Great review Ian! Cheers 🍻
Thank you sir. I appreciate the simple explanation.
So you can still adjust the focus for each eye with the integras ?but can it adjust as much ?
I didn’t know I could change the size of the screen on the goggles 2. How is that done?
On your flight, why is it displaying a message about “not using bound device” and “incompatible goggles, etc.”?
That because my Avata is bound to my G2 for DJI Care refresh warranty. You have to link them and you can only fly 5 times with other goggles after it’s done. I would have to swap the binding to remove that message. That’s noting to do with the Integra specifically just the way the DJI Care Refresh works.
Integra Goggles root-able for WTF-OSD?
Hi. I'm curious if you can use other power suply to power up Goggles 2, like power bank with 9v output? Or you need to use DJI battery.
You can use any psu as long as it’s in the voltage range.
In your video keeps appearing incompatible goggles, aircraft and remote controller, this is the warning to pair other integra googles and have a pilot and a passanger?
This is because my Avata was originally bound to my Goggles 2 for care refresh and I had not transferred it over for the review.
Please do a integra vs v2, would you?
I’m assuming these will not support the new occusync 4
Hello Ian and I really enjoyed this full review. I have a question if you can help. I’m blind from the right eye. Can I use any DJI goggles with the avata that I want to buy? I’ve asked DJI regarding the goggles 2 and although they said I can, then they changed their reply to no, because the visual is different on each eye. Can you please tell me if that is correct and if this is the same with the intera? Is there another goggle which has the same visual on each eye so I can use? Thank you in advance!
Hi
which one would you recommend more for future proofing and compatibility with future systems?
Today the integers is the best value for sure and has the potential to have the widest compatibility
Does the dji integra for over glasses like dji goggles v2?
Are these new headsets better then the old white ones 5 years a go? I am looking to get back into fpv with the avatar
What about anti-fogging?
great review! Thank you for that! Is it possible to take off the headstrap and exchange it with a 3rd party one somehow? (maybe with custom made parts?) If so, what does the power input connector on the goggles side looks like?
At the moment it looks fixed but we will need to see
Do you still have the same fogging problem as the goggles 2?
Will it work with dji mini 3 pro and dji goggles integra and older dji fpv motion controller instead of dji mini 3 pro and dji goggles integra and dji rc motion2 combination?
Great review ! Thanks
Would love a comparison of the V2 vs the Integra! :-)
does the goggles two have better penetration and range than the Integra ?
So can the V2 or the Integra be used with the Mavic 3?
Does it have 4:3 fov for the O3 and air units with nebula pro cams or other cam with 4:3 fov support?
