After a manifold gasket and new dorman Intake runner control install I had poor power and mileage . Have since got a bidirectional scanner that lets me command the runner control open. I did and it said "result sucsessfull" but It did not move. Latter on I put a used Ford runner control on It and It does command open and lots more power. I never got any codes. O5 F250 5.4 3valve
I’m not sure how different the 250 is in design under the hood but my issue when I first did the replacement was running the wire correctly around or through the back of the intake manifold … if you run the wires incorrectly (like maybe the knock’s sensors or one to the wiring harness) then they can catch on the little rods at the back of the manifold if that happens, a code might come back saying stuck in open or closed.. it reports that back to the computer in the truck and things something is wrong.. that can then hurt performance.. I would check your wiring and make sure nothing is impeding those bars.. if they are then just disconnect that wire and run in somehow that the bars can move right to left or left to right to flip them freely into open and closed positions (that happens inside the intake mannifold but no need to actually open the mannifold) let me know if that doesn’t make sense … I have another video that should explain it a little more clearly … the video is about replacing the knock sensors
Check around 4:00 I show what it looks like off… the rods come out and there are two bolts I believe that should come off to remove it from the intake manifold
Yes! if you hare still having trouble with it my first guess would be that when plugging the wires(from the engine harness) back into the back of the intake manifold something is crossed up. what will happen is a wire can stop those rods from being able to move side to side, which causes the valve to either stay open or stay closed. The 3 wires most likely to be fed incorrectly causing this are the 2 knock sensors, and the large wire that actually plugs into the IMRC

ford did not consider the problems that they created on this POS manifold and engine
How were the butterfly flaps supposed to b open or closed
did you happen to post a PART 2? if so where can I find it, other than that this was really informative.
I have 2 other videos about replacing the knock sensors that might have some more info you are looking for…
ua-cam.com/video/1d89vqYNbrc/v-deo.html start around 7 minutes into the video
I have everything apart how to I actually take apart the ircv it’s self to actually put the new one on.

what were the symptoms?
I’m curious also
Me too because mine started feeling like it was gasping for air and then began trembling
Talk up...sound too low
Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure to do that in my next video
Did ur issue got resolved?

I just had a new engine put into my '05 F150. A week later I get the code for IMRC. Could it be related to the engine installation?
Audio is so low I can’t hear shit
uhhh
uhhm
uhh uhh
uhhh
Aaah
Didn't help me at all
You work tooo hard did way too much
