    I’m doing the delete to mine right now. I left the bushings in and removed the flaps and replaced them with tubing so the seal between intake runners can be retained.

      I may have to take mine back off and do this. I didnt think about the runners being seperated. I do need to put new knock sensors on in mine also so maybe it's time lol.

      @@dennispowers7404 I also noticed in your video that one of the intake rear nipples looks to be broken off? I have pictures I just don’t know how to show you without email or posting a video myself just cut tubing the same length of the flaps and put them back in the plastic bushings and then put it all back together and then slide your long rods down it.have you had any bog or surging? I have both of those so I need to buy a tuner from what I understand to get rid of that?

      @@lookingupwards8652 hey sorry it took me so long to get back to you, yes I do have surging of a couple hundred rpm at lower speeds, but don't notice it at highway speeds. That is a good idea on the rubber tubing to help keep the seal. I hope yiu have already done this and your surging has gone away. I would expect it to even out the rpm especially while at lower speeds of less than 45. I have a tuner on mine but still have the surging. If that doesn't fix it, it could be throttle body related..... time for bigger mm throttle body then lol....I really want to find an older lightning and swap the supercharger into it but that requires more money and another tune lol.

      @@dennispowers7404 Awesome. yeah that was just my thoughts after watching this I just didnt know if that would cause some sort of issue or not. Are you still running the intake manifold like this? i am looking to do this on my 2006 f150 because i have a stuck closed condition for bank 1 but was curious on how the engine ran for you after you did it?

    Appreciate your videos,
    Question- how did you find out the 2009 5.4 3v doesn't have the imrc?
    I was told that my 2009 f150 5.4 3v has the imrc.
    Please let me know how you found out that it was deleted on 2009 models.
    😊 TY

      I checked a buddy of mine that has a 2009 xlt 5.4, now that i think about it, they may have them on the upper trim levels but if that 5.4 doesn't have it why should the older or 2009 upper trim levels have it.

      My expedition is also a 2008 limited 5.4. I have headers and flowmaster super 44 on it. It's a little loud when cold starting and the drone is very noticeable on highway or at any speed. I would opt for a super 50 series if you plan on doing exhaust.

      None from mine. Did you do the imrc delete? If so was it acting up before the delete? How many miles are on it?

    • @CINORX
      @CINORX 2 місяці тому

      @dennispowers7404 haven't done it myself. But about too...I currently have 115k on it. At first we thought it was coil packs and maf sensor. Worked wonderful for a month and it started acting up. Thought it was a vacuum leak, no leak. Mechanic stated control board is sticking. Since sometimes it idles ruff and at times there's no issues.

      Actually no, but I would suggest putting the little rubber ends back into the intake, as I think they help keep the runners separated. I haven't put the ends back into my intake yet, But plan on doing so when I put my new knock sensors in.

      It might get a little less gas milage but I'm happy with it. I don't think it has improved any hp or torque though. Only way of knowing that is if I were to put it on a dyno before and after doing this mod. Supposedly these valves are for epa emissions I would assume not sure though

      I have bad imrc or wiring short. It’s a 5.4, mpg isn’t greatest any way. If bypassing it and eliminating a failure point while saving money is what I’m looking for. It’s an expedition that’s used on weekends mainly.

    • @dennispowers7404
      @dennispowers7404  2 місяці тому +1

      @@bc4092 it doesn't set the check engine light unless the imrc motor is bad. That is what really started all of my issues. The imrc motor stopped working properly, and to fix it, the intake has to come almost all the way out but taking it all the way out is easier to replace the imrc motor.

      I am currently swapping a 2006 5.4 3v(of course) into a 2009 body. It involves a lot of little mods and swaps because of the wiring harness differences and etc but anyway I went to swap intake manifolds and was stumped when I noticed no imrc valves in the 09 manifold. But this video puts my concerns to rest thank you
