TEXT
Good people all, this Christmas time,
Consider well and bear in mind
What our good God for us has done
In sending His beloved Son
With Mary holy we should pray,
To God with love this Christmas Day
In Bethlehem upon that morn,
There was a blessed Messiah born.
The night before that happy tide,
The noble virgin and her guide
Were long time seeking up and down
To find a lodging in the town.
But mark how all things came to pass
From every door repelled, alas,
As was foretold, their refuge all
Was but a humble ox's stall.
Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep
Their flocks of lambs and feeding sheep
To whom God's angels did appear
Which put the shepherds in great fear
Prepare and go, the angels said
To Bethlehem, be not afraid
For there you'll find, this happy morn
A princely Babe, sweet Jesus, born. - Розваги
Love hearing solos from "inner voices"
The outstanding musicality of this ensemble is apparent from the very first second of the video. You can hear the micro-adjustment in some of the inner voices as they adjust their tuning to create a perfect chord.
The Intonation remains absolutely pitch perfect throughout - every voice hitting the absolute centre of the note. I love this group.
I basically push like before even hearing the pieces now
Same
DITTO!👍
What an exquisite arrangement of this carol -- by Molly's father, no less. So happy to hear the solos by Molly, Chris, and Katie. Thank you for the inspiration you have given in 2022. May 2023 bring you nothing but success and happiness.
Chris' solo--wow! What a voice! I've always loved Katie's voice.
Oh my heart, it’s my favourite Christmas carol by one of my favourite choral groups!
Snap❤
I love Katie’s dress. Also love the hear from less common soloists.
Glory to God for this beautiful message so beautifully presented to the world this year.
And once again, and just in time, these angels pick up my spirit like a feather and let it soar. May God bless you all.
The original instrument the human voice…created by God.. these are extremely talented people
Why bring god into it? They are indeed incredible musicians.
@@sarahcollins6378 Because only God created human’s and their ability to create. Maybe if you believed in something greater then yourself you would understand!
Agreed! What a glorious gift.
everything is indeed from God. That's why in the end of our life we could not make a single excuse that we don't know Him and run from His judgement.
@@sarahcollins6378 To Whom do you think this magnificent piece was/is dedicated to? Whatever pathological resentment you've cultivated towards God in your life is no reason to rob the world of mentioning its Creator, particularly with musical odes dedicated to Him. Step out of your myopia.
Somehow I hadn’t heard Molly solo yet, and I was actually shocked at how deep and dark her tone is, I was thinking it’s even more so than Katie’s which threw me since she’s the alto!
Love this arrangement ❤️❤️❤️
i felt the same.
Right?? And then in the descant at the end, Molly was even higher than Andrea! Mindblowing.
Yes!! It reminds me of Emily's tone (the S2 before Eleonore, who Molly replaced). It's really nice
@@briannacox4878 Of course that would make sense since she replaced her :) I actually find that El has a sweeter tone that sits higher, at least when I hear her solo, and if there's anything I learned in my many years as a choir singer, using different parts of your range in a choir v soloing is night and day worth of different. Not a bad thing, just something I noted and found interesting!
Altos aren't necessarily dark.
Clearly one of the most outstanding vocal ensembles on the planet! You keep mesmerising me. Thank you, voces8!
A beautiful Irish Christmas song . Have a lovely holiday and I look forward to hearing more beautiful tunes from you in the New Year .
What can be said, but "Amen" and Bravo a tutti! Thank you all.
Merci toujours très rayonnant de très belles fêtes à vous tous
Loïc de Montpellier (FRANCE)❤❤🎉

Good to hear more contemporary harmonies in this group. Hope you continue to be adventurous.

Beautiful comment
Exquisite--as always.
a family of many talents. Sir Timothy Noon must and should be proud of his daughter with her humble angelic voice.
Finally!!! After ages, this carol is sung correctly! Thank you, and Happy Hols. 🎄
Hahaha!
Perfect singing (once again) by one of the most dynamic and amazing choral groups in the musical world today. I am so glad to see that they are taking full advantage of UA-cam to showcase their talent, as everyone can freely enjoy their stunning videos. Thank you, VOCES8, for making that possible for us, and may you have a most blessed holiday season & outstandingly successful and bountiful new year of 2023!
Wonderful, wonderful! Happy Christmas, VOCES8...

Beautiful. Wonderful arrangement, and lovely soloists.
I can't stop listening to this. Great, controlled and rangeful voices, along with a freaking good arrangement. If only I could sing so well and find people like you to sing, the feeling and fulfillment would be immense. Thank you for letting me and others take a look into your terrific talent.
This is heavenly

Wow! I don't usually care much for The Wexford Carol, but this is an absolutely marvelous arrangement! And marvelously sung, of course ...
Lovely solos and arrangement of one of my favourite carols
Wow!! Love me some Katie, Molly, and Chris. Great arrangement, exquisitely sung. VOCES8 amazes once again!!
Amazing effortless descant lines ❤
These people are the best of the best!
Harmonically rich, creative and Color… so so much Color let alone the various harmonic rhythms the arranger has blessed us with
😊 fine arrangement well performed
Beautiful version of this carol, I loved In Dulci Jubilo too. Joyeuse Noel from France.
Bless you and thank you. Perfect worship - in Spirit and in Truth. Happy Christmas everyone. Rev Dev xxx
I greet you from Germany ❤
While every voice in this group is incredible, a shout out to Katie as this seemed especially rich! Thanks you all for the joy you bring.
Love the three ladies singing together . Marvellous .
Sadly the men's effort takes the edge off it...
Nur genial.
Merci ! Joyeux Noël à tous !
Angoulême, 25 décembre 2022 : Gaudete ! Christus natus est ! Gaudete ! Gaudete !
Pop music audio engineers take note of the lack of need for individual microphones. This is a perfectly balanced group mostly being picked up by a single high-quality pair of (probable) omnidirectional mics. When an ensemble such as this spends all of its time working on balance, blend, intonation, and ensemble, the last thing they want is multiple cardioid mics piercing their bubble at the reverb radius.
This is beautiful. Gorgeous harmonies & dissonances. And MINIMAL VIBRATO. Other singers please take note - it's about the song, not about you.
Thank you 👏🏼
❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
Amazing. I cannot find it on iTunes and would like to listen to it everywhere.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🙏🌟🌟🌟🌟
Molly, Katie and Chris solos: 👍
That chord at 1:36: 🥵🥵
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
It's great still to see Johnnie! I thought he was going on to other things? Still in the works?
The best trend is rhythmic
☝️😎
Night time
I was looking for a version of this done by you folks just YESTERDAY! Thanks for the Christmas present! Love Timothy's arrangement harmonies, but am still waiting for the resolution to tonic, lol.
Molly needs more solos!
And also the Kattie! ;)
@@lulublasz Absolutely. That's what people say every time gets one!
Spectacular solos! The piece ends on the dominant -- weird.
Sin elionore no es lo mismo
Sorry, but this arrangement of the carol doesn't hold a candle to the Yo Yo Ma and Alison Krauss version.
Chalk and cheese
Not a fan of the arrangement tbh, but masterfully performed as usual.
That's too bad - it's one of the better arrangements.
A dreadfully "nice" arrangement of a song of the people, one that should be sung with gusto and real feeling! There's certainly no risk here of disturbing the Home Counties spinsters who have cycled to a carol service.
Wonderful......merry Christmas!
