I am but a sinner. Hymnals like these bring tears to my eyes in the knowledge that despite my numerous atrocities, the power in that name JESUS cleanses me of them all. Thank you Jesus!
All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ Name! Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all! Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, And crown Him Lord of all! Let every kindred, every tribe, On this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown Him Lord of all! Oh, that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall! We’ll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all!
Edward Perronet who wrote this was known as an excellent preacher and a friend of John Wesley. Once when Wesley stood to preach he looked at Edward and announced to the congregation "Mr. Perronet will preach today." Perronet mounted the pulpit, declaring he would deliver the greatest sermon ever preached, and proceeding to read Christ's "Sermon on the Mount"; after which, he immediately sat down. :-)
Lord Jesus, you are my Creator and redeemer who suffered and died for me. How can I ever thank you enough? I surrender myself to you and call you my Lord and Saviour. You as God and Creator has touched the depth of my being and has transformed me into your eternal possession! Let your name be praised for ever and ever!
Dear Jitloa, How ? . Don't moan on about it all the time. In Christianity the sins are forgiven. . You don't have to thank Jesus all the time, like folk in some religions must do with their saviour. . Go out and spread the word; quit moaning. o0o
There is nothing more holy and sacred than to hear the opening hymn with the CONGREGATION and the CHOIR singing and in the background the POWERFUL PIPE ORGAN ringing out with power, praising God in song!!!! Glory!!!! Glory!!!
This hymn was a part of a service I put together to serve as my conducting recital for the Master of Sacred Music program at Luther Seminary and St. Olaf College in Minnesota. The service was held in Boe Memorial Chapel on the campus of St. Olaf.
God is Faithful, he is the Alpha and Omega may your name be praise i missed Anglican Church alot i can't wait to visit Nigeria and Join my fellow choristers i love you Jesus
This great hymn. I was once in an African-American church in Chicago where the organist intentionally did not play the third verse and the congregation sang all the parts splendidly. The organist then played an interlude took the hymn up one half step and we all sang to the glory of God!
This music raises the soul and pushes to meditate. What a great melody ! Thank you for the one who composed it, and let the name of the Almighty God be glorified.
There is a CD available with this and other of Sterling Procter's hymn arrangements available on iTunes. It is from a hymn festival several years ago at the Broadway Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, Texas. itunes.apple.com/us/album/alleluia!-amen!-festival-hymns/id291622713
I know people who saw Jesus on the Cross when they were singing in the spirit and his shoulders were strengthened by the praise. So as He encompassed all time and times in the Passion we can make a difference to his sufferings. Think of it !!
Lord Jesus let the world deny YOU but i will not.I will live for YOU and on Your second coming i will say goodbye to this world and fly up to Heaven where You prepare my eternal place by You.Praise Our Creator
I totally love this arrangement. Listened to it on 5/19/2015. I cried each time I listened to it. It brings me to Heaven at CHRIST'S coronation. HALLELUJAH. Glory to God.
Have no words to express this Eternal Song..... It is 'The Most Favourite Song for Our Lord Jesus CHRIST Himself'. Will be defintely sung&tuned by Heavenly Choir when Our Jesus CHRIST returns as King of kings & Lord of lords.
yes brother , saying with enormous FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD, SURELY THIS SONG WILL BE SUNG WHEN our JESUS CHRIST RETURNS AS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
It just does not get any better than this. The ORGAN, and ORGANIST, with the choir and congregation singing. Absolutely wonderful, beautifully done. Give that ORGANIST a congressional metal of honor. Listen the the last stanza. Superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rev. R. L. Addison Va.
Fine performance of a wonderful hymn. Many thanks and congratulations on your MSM. I turned the speaker right up on the basis that the neighbours should be able to enjoy it too! God bless all those here.
THANK GOD that this performance was recorded....and that it was such a high quality recording too! A W E S O M E ! ! ! ! Thanks also to everyone who contributed so it could be shared online for us to enjoy! :D
Just re-watched this Post: How refreshing to see The Word of God OPEN on the Communion Table for all to read.....Not a portion, being 'paraded around'....GREAT WORK YOU GUYS!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (August 3), I filled in at a local Presbyterian Church. I played this as the Hymn of Dedication. However, it was to the tune, CORONATION, composed by Oliver Holden.
What a superb and majestic tune Diadem is to complement this wonderful hymn, excellently handled in this arrangement. To say I enjoyed if would be an understatement. Thank you.
It's Boe Chapel, on the St Olaf campus, in Northfield, Mn. Chapel attendance is optional. Many of the musicians are students, on musical scholarships, to offset the high school fees. fabulous organ, amazing faculty and stuidents.
Beautiful hymn with a fantastic choir. It must be pure joy to sing in that wonderful setting. The orchestra at times was a bit louder than the singers. It is important to hear those great basses as they have in my view one of the best parts to sing..
This song is sung to a different tune in the Anglican/Episcopal church. There it is sung to the tune "Miles Lane" by W.Shrubsole, lyrics by Edward Perronet, both circa 1779. I had not been to the Lutheran or Methodist churches as a young person and thought everyone sang the same words and music for for hymns as we did. It was only as I went to other churches that I realized the same words were sung but the tune was different. A lot of the time the tune is from another hymn.
I am but a sinner. Hymnals like these bring tears to my eyes in the knowledge that despite my numerous atrocities, the power in that name JESUS cleanses me of them all. Thank you Jesus!
Ok
Imagine people of all nations, tribes, color and race, united giving praises to the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!!!
Heaven on earth total happiness
“Flowers and grass fade away, but what our God has said will never change.” (Isaiah 40:8)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16
these are the songs we as christians should be listening to, for they bring us close to the holy spirit
I'm pretty convinced this song is sung in heaven too :o)
All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ Name!

And crown Him Lord of all!
Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,

If you cannot "moan" in sheer awe about what you have been given, you will not be able to effectively tell people what you've been given.
latrinenazi jitloa told you: by simply calling out to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, in total surrender.
