Minto's Freon engine has far more output from what I saw demonstrated many years ago. It's byproduct was air conditioning as well. The Freon Cycle (heat, cold, kinetic) is well documented and in commercial/private use world wide.. .Common Refrigeration is just one simple variation..

Mine would be a fire wood powered one. I want one to take to town when gas gets too high. As long as it could do 10 miles I be in like flint. Nice job on the unit. Will it start from a dead stop or do you need a little push? Keep up the hood work!

Awesome! I have a rowing bike with the same type of steering setup. It is very similar in size to your machine. I have found through painful experience that you might want to think about changing that center pivot axle to one which steers the wheels individually. I was bruised for weeks after flipping over. With regard to your marvelous machine, it is lovely! I wish I had your ingenuity!

If you put a NuVinci or Rohloff hub to this cart, you will have more than enough torque to start the cart from a stop and then increase the speed. The advantage of Nuvinci and Rohloff is that you can gear down at a stop. You can not do that with a derailer.

The stirling does not make noise like the other engine. Its manufactreng can be chipper. I tested 3 prototipes. I am very glad for your performance. It pushes me ahead,
    Congratulation.

Very cool. Like the others posters, I am curious about the amount of propane required to run this and its efficiency against a internal combustion propane engine.

well, they all utilise differences in pressure to facilitate movement, but in stirling engines the piston assembly is an entirely sealed unit, the pressure isnt released, rather both the expansion and contraction of gasses within that sealed unit creates movement, that's why you didnt see any steam coming out and it wasn't making traditional steam engine sounds.

@goranvu stirling engines dont have much of a problem with speed. their main issue seems to be power. so while you might be able to get it up to a high speed it might take you a while to get there.

Amazing machine, but I would guess that it uses more fuel creating the temperature differential than a gas engine of similar output would.

What vehicle does not need fuel? And don't say electric cause the power to recharge comes MOSTLY from coal. Stirling engines are not really suited for vehicles anyway they don't throttle well, they are best at constant speed operation, such as used in power generation. You can use ANY heat source, solar, geothermal etc. If you build one to very high levels of engineering they are pretty amazing, and efficient, and quiet, and reliable, but difficult to build in your garage.
