I'm really happy that Heihachi is coming back! He's my first real main, liked his disign since I first played Tekken 3 and he just has the most satisfying "powerful" moves to hit opponents with. Great vid!
One aspect of heihachi that I've always enjoyed vs the other mishimas is how strong his OTG moves are. Kaz has 50/50 oki situations but Hachi ignores that entirely and blows you up while you're still on the ground with stomps and uppercuts. Very very unique, not many characters can do it how he does
Thank you so much for your analysis ! You also solved the Lidia problem that I had, where I had trouble differenciating their gameplan. Now I will be more prone to pick Lidia on a trigger happy opponent rather than Reina, that I can pick on an opponent where I can express her gameplan. Keep up the amazing work Applay ⚡
What you said about his moves having more weight to them resonates with me most. Even his electric feels a lot more satisfying to use with him shouting "doriyaaa" when you do it, at first i thought he was shouting "oh yeah" lol
I'm not a big Heihachi fan, but he's definitely THE MISHIMA. Everything he does hits so freaking hard and just makes you feel silly for trying to stand in front of him.
My main has always been Kazuya, when i first tried Heihachi in t7 i found him so much difficult to execute some of his combos, but damn his pokings were so good. I can't wait to lab him hard when he comes out.
really inflemative video! very much a reina main (wholl probably play some hein on release), but even if my character wasn't the focus i learned a bunch about her :)) very well explained :)
When Reina was first announced, I tried to learn Heihachi to prep, and she ended up playing differently. I'll be interested to see if i can transfer any of that learning time now.
I'll be sticking with Reina, she's the first Mishima I've ever played and I really like her. The thing I'm looking forward to most with the release of Heihachi is the intro/outros between the two of them. They're both villainous characters, but I really hope they actually get a wholesome intro together. That would be amazing.
bamco wants every character to be a rushdown stance mixup hybrid now so they're gonna get rid of all his counterhit utility and give him a mixup stance called super sentai
The feel of the character makes a huge difference. When u play heihachi or Paul u feel super strong when u do a hammer to death fist, but if u play a character like claudio or leo who fight like they doing ballet and hit like fairies, then u feel like a pathetic weakling
@@austingoyne3039 yeah she has to put so much effort into it just to be +2. I like it though, they really convey that she's basically a noob version of heihachi. kinda like sakura and ryu.
im so glad we dont have to wait a game or two before we got heihachi back, he and kaz have always been my favorite characters. but t8 made me switch to Reina, kaz and jin both feel like playing on easy mode with their counterhit low launcher bullshit😂
they both have a similar pressure structure with their df1 stuff, but the end goal of hers is to get you to stop pressing so she can mix you, and the end goal of heihachi's is to get you to press so he can counterhit you.
I'm a paul main in tekken 8 and this is my first game that i been taking serious .i feel like paul need more as a character in his medium game or maybe is me, but i want to use heihachi went it comes out,. you think is a good idea to pick another mishima to learn there skills first ? or stay whit paul until it heihachi comes out? also just subscribe great video !!!!
Playing a Mishima now would help get used to EWGF execution and create muscle memory for some punishers that are shared between them. I'd suggest Devil Jin since his inputs are more similar to Heihachi's
yeah definitely learn a little of reina, kaz, and DJ. pick whichever you like best. reina has a lot of things you'll have to know how to do for heihachi like the pressure off of her df1 and its extensions. and confirming an f4 hit on a crouching opponent into df12. same for CH ws2. she has a lot of mix that he doesn't though and not many counterhits so it'll be a different style, but some similar motifs/muscle memory.
Yeah, that would make his only safe-ish low also launch punishable. I'm hoping they will give him a weak, but safer low poke to compensate. Although, what was nice about d+4 is how it could also setup whiffs... Unless the new low does something similar, we might have to just deal with d+4 being -15
Thank you! All these lore nerds keep acting like Reina and Kuma are literally clones of Heihachi now that they have a handful of his key moves. Like the morons who think Jin is literally identical to Devil Jin now that he flips and dive kicks and has a flashing wing now.
I thought this was going to be a more video about how heihachi is built different and beat Kazuya's ass even when he unlocked devil from and survived situations that would have killed a 100 men
Don't care, at this time they are just wasting character slots, Heihachi, Jin, Kazuya, and Reina; Jun and Asuka; Panda and Kuma; while also adding back characters in base roster that no one cares about like Shaheen and Zafina. No wonder T8 feels so under-whelming.
you think panda and kuma both being in the game is a waste of a character slot 😂 bro it's literally copy paste, once you make one, the other probably costs like 5% as much to make. just a reskin and different heat smash and rage art.
@@tongpoo8985 Should be 1/3 pick, just like tekken 5, or don't add them at all. Heihachi is dead, so Kuma didn't need to be added to T8, and since Kuma isn't here Panda's 50% of reason--ff2ing Kuma is gone, so you could get rid of that as well...
@@ChristopherWaddelowI’m gonna be honest, he’s not entirely wrong, every move in Tekken 8 has way more range than in previous games (this was also a problem in Tekken 7). @@assassinonprozac it's also because backdashes are so bad compared to how they were in tekken 5. tekken 5 you could legit backdash about double the distance, so a lot easier to create whiffs.

His design was my fav in TK3 as well. The villains in older titles often had the coolest designs.
His combos in 7 are also super cool, hopefully they carry over in 8!

Kazuya style is THE Mishima style
@@TheBigEmstos they took away Kazuya's original ten-string. For that, I've demoted him from his position as Top Mishima.🤣
Heihachi has too much stuff, Kazuya is quintessential Mishima gameplay. Plus in the original two games Hei was just Kazuya with some Paul moves.
i really hope Heat doesnt mess up heihachi cause i feel like he could be completely different depending on what his heat does its kinda scary
