    Top job. Many years back someone I knew had a Z900 engine blasted with corn husks. It polished the casings. Not sure what else was added but this system seems very good and creates the best finish for painted coating. Clear gloss coat would look good.

    Good to see that you do the complete engine. Ive read so many times that you must strip it first. did you lower the pressure at all ?

    Hi are you saying that after a steam clean, all it takes is one process to completely restore the engine finish?

    • @kevinchamberlain7928
      @kevinchamberlain7928 4 роки тому

      Doesn't want to answer this, I see! If I'm thinking what you're thinking then what about clear coat? Did the original engine have a clear coat or similar? Some engines do. I have a cb1300 that needs doing but I need more info...

    How to prevent engine parts from oxidisation and corrosion. Which is the best corrosion inhibitor. What is best water soluble or aerosol spray.

    • @kentvapourblasting2374
      @kentvapourblasting2374  5 років тому

      Alloy parts won’t corrode any more than when new as the process seals the surface. I don’t vapour blast steel parts as they immediately start to corrode, dry blasting is usually better.

  • @cblackmail

    Kent,
    When finished do you coat/spray the engine with anything to preserve the finish and/or prevent corrosion?
    Thanks

      No, not necessary as the process seals the surface

    Can i get that soft and shiny surface on an engine that has been sandblasted with dry sand (rough)?

    • @AmosHaley
      @AmosHaley 3 роки тому

      It will smooth it and close up the pores but depending on sand blast pressure that had been used you won’t be able to achieve that smooth a finish

      this is definitely how not to do it ! you will blow media and water in the engine !! ever seen an engine that is completely oil free ?? they all sweat oil that means also that you will blow media in it , clutch lever axle , chainwheel axle , ignition side they all have seals that can hold the oil in , but the 2..4 bar that you use will be blown in !!!
      take a look at the starter motor you removed half the zinc layer and blew water in it , greetings from a colleague vapor blaster (vixen 1515)

      Water will definitely get in. Ive been doing this for years but with one extra step called ball burnishing. The difference between just vapour blasting against vapour and ball burnishing is night and day. I e won some big shows and although vapour gets a clean finish , it is not good enough to win a top show. If you run compressed air through the oil filler cap at a contant pressure, you have a better chance of sgopping media getting in but not guaranteed. Good job though.
