Look here little miss petunia, I can’t tell you how much you’ve inspired me when it comes to school. I’ve hit some major road blocks with my schooling, and it’s been super discouraging. I know we can’t see everything of course, so my perception isn’t reality (talking about your life) however your passion shines through, and it really makes me feel like I can do it all -I can work full time and do school and read and also spend time with people that I love.
and life is so stressful, but I wanted to tell you how much just watching you talk about school even when you are in the pits, has helped me see that I’m not alone. I’m going to be a nurse, so my heart and my brain have been in this battle. Something like...why is it taking me so long and I feel so lost?!
Just keep being positive about yourself too! It’s so easy to tell someone else something, but you’re trying and with each down fall I pray you see the silver lining, or you can keep that goal you have tucked away in your heart and keep going! Because you’re smart and awesome too! With killer bangs and eyeshadow! You’re a busy bee! Thanks for being you!

I would recommend “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas, it’s very thick but the story is really engaging as it is a revenge plot. I remember reading it as a high schooler (my native language is not English) and didn’t have issue with arcane language that usually plagues classics.

I know Noelle wasn’t feeling too good recently, I feel like you can tell in her recent videos that she seems a little down. I don’t mean this in a hurtful way, I just want Noelle to know that there’s no pressure to put out videos for us if she needs a break ! 😊 If you see this Noelle, hope you’re okay and we’re sending all our love and support 🌸🧡✨

Noelle your reading vlogs just got me through the last 3 days. I was stressed out by a task at work that did not give me meaning or joy, but I had to meet a deadline regardless.
Playing your reading vlogs on the background grounded me and helped my brain focus rather than wondering to dark places. Your determination and self-discipline carried me through. As a person who struggle with negative self-talk as well, I can relate to how you are feeling.
I would like to thank you by saying a few kind words:
    - You are emotionally intelligent for being self-aware of feelings and when you need mental health breaks. That is SMART!
    - You are resourceful for coming up with ideas and finding solutions when you get stuck, such as brainstorming with your friends after a disappointing chat with your prof. That is another way your smartness shines.
    - You are kind and generous to students new to your program by telling them you understand their anxiety and offering your support
    - You are loving and thoughtful towards friends and family
    - You show integrity by aligning your actions with your value (re: subscription box)
    - You are brave for speaking about mental health openly
Wishing you all the best!! - Annie

also watching you graduate your masters and getting married and are just fucking crushing it life doing youtube, reading, and having a full time job just makes me feel so full and inspired and joyous and just all the things for you

    Hey, Noelle.
Just wanted to say a little thank you.
Your videos have really done so much for me. They got me through lockdown last year, which happened right after I experienced something traumatic and then had to move because of lockdown - entering a completely new and unfamiliar situation. Your channel became a safe space for me.
You spread joy because it exists in you. Don't forget that :)
You are beautiful person. Thank you for the joy you spread on this channel and the comfy, homey atmosphere you create here.
    Much love xx

Noelle, first off this video was wonderful as per usual and my Saturday morning was started by watching this and having a lovely cup of tea. I just wanted to comment and say that it seems like this semester has been particularly brutal for students everywhere and people's mental health has severely tanked. I'm so sorry you're having a really rough time. I'm glad to see you're getting professional help, and I hope you're just able to take things step by step, one day at a time.
When you said you don't feel joy about things anymore, I related so hard because I remembered having that exact realization myself a couple of years back. Please know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. And since you're such a bubbly, sunshiny person, you're probably extra harsh on yourself for not being "up" all the time. Please be kind to yourself mentally, keep up good CBT habits and know that you're wonderful and intelligent and beautiful.
There are always people in your comments sections talking about how your videos have gotten them through hard times and that's so true because you're such an amazing person! That being said, though -- bitch, allow yourself time to do *nothing*!!! When was the last time you just completely chilled out without thinking about filming or editing or work or school or being productive in some way? I'm sure people would rather you didn't upload for ages if it meant you got some quality brain-rest time.
Anyway, sorry for the long ass comment but yeah, just keep muddling on through these murky waters and just focus on the small things, and be patient with yourself. You'll get through it xxx

As someone who finds it really difficult to talk about my own mental health problems it is soooo inspiring and reassuring to hear someone I admire also goes through these things too. You are so strong ❤️ Be kind to yourself, be your own best friend and take the time you need. All of the Covid free hugs and well wishes from Ireland x

💛🧡❤️💜💙💚 hoping you all the best. Human beings are so resilient, strong, and mailable. That’s just the baseline. Luckily you are also witty, creative, entertaining, empathetic, and intelligent. Those are a lot of bonuses to the original package, ha. It’s easy to lose sight of that but luckily we (those watching) get to see from a third perspective and we clearly see a lot of things we like or there wouldn’t be so many of us here.

Hi, Noelle! About short stories: there is a book 'the joy luck club' by Amy Tan. Stories about 4 daughters and their mothers, who had totally different life problems in China, and now they are in America, dealing with loss and thoughts and everything there is.
I loved the cultural beautiful things that you notice throughout the book. And sobbed a little... I'm pretty sure, you will like it, such an unusual read!

Many of us struggle with mental health (anxiety is my main issue), so please know you are not alone. You are clearly an intelligent, passion person. I’m in my 30s now, and there are plenty of difficulties, but I do feel happier and less stressed than in my 20s(& that is with an autoimmune condition/chronic health issues). Hang in there. 💙

You're already very successful and have done what most cannot do and what many dream of! From what I've seen about you you're a very hard-working, sincere and motivated character and that's probably why you're such a success here. You're doing so well! We're all excited to see your face pop up on the screen and it's because we see something great in you. You're doing a great job and I hope you'll feel happier soon

The world is so crazy right now and that doesn’t make anything easier. I don’t know you… but your videos make my days a little better, and for that, you are wonderful and I’m really grateful for you!! Keep going sunshine!!

I agree with you re: the Friends reunion- the best part was when it was just the core cast chatting and reminiscing, the stuff with the audience didn’t feel as authentic. I liked hearing from the international fans and guest stars too!

I'm so sorry for this really hard time you're having. I relate whole heartedly with your mental health issues. You are a fascinating, smart, and funny lady and I enjoy your content so much because of the YOU aspect of the videos. You always have interesting things to share, great perspectives on life/books, and it looks like you have a great life carved out for yourself in SF. I know it's hard to see these things for yourself when you're in the middle of a down period in your mental health, but I hope having other people say so helps.

I live in the Middle East so getting new books is often slow. We rely on the second hand market a lot but with people not traveling the same, even this has proved difficult. I did, however, recently discover a small charity book stall in the mall so I went to donate some books. As I placed the books into the donation box, I happened to spy a copy of ‘The Silent Patient’. I have heard you (and others) mention this book and was intrigued to read it but gave up hope of finding a copy any time soon. I guess when a book is meant to be, it’s meant to be. I hope I like it as I am so looking forward to ‘The Maidens’, sounds right up my street. Thanks for your vlog, I always really enjoy them. Take care and stay safe, Tx!

I'm currently reading Ariadne and its being quite enjoyable so far! From what I have read it's mostly about her personal story, not that of the minotaur or the others in the original myth. I'm really liking how we are seeing the women's perspectives of a lot of greek mythology now though, because often they are a key part of how the men became heroes and are too often forgotten. Also the cover is stunning.

I’ve been reading Severance on your recommendation and really digging it, so thank you. Also reading 100 Years of Solitude which is a real trip.
If you are on a short story kick, try The Lonesome Bodybuilder, a collection of short stories by Yokiko Motoya, with the longest story being about a woman who wants to build muscles and her husband oblivious to her changes, as well as some surrealist stories that are like magical realism.

I LOVED the friends reunion but I TOTALLY agree, I wanted to hear more from Matthew Perry!! He's overcome so much in his life and I wanted to hear more about that and how his struggles affected his experience on the show. Even the little tidbits about his like debilitating need to be funny and to make people laugh was REALLY interesting, but I would've loved to have heard more

I have the same issue with doing starred reviews. I start questioning, way too hard, how exactly I'm deciding what constitutes a 4 vs a 5. I start overthinking, and for that reason I almost never actually give a rating.
