I wont lie, uni really fucked me up whenever i got to finals. I would just totally neglect myself and only realise when it felt like i was so alone and drowning. Remember that you deserve to be loved and cared for, while thats usually by the other humans you surround yourself its also loving and caring for yourself. I hope you are okay and remember that this is only a fleeting moment in the expanse of your life and soon it'll pass as fast as it appeared.

My journal is legitimately just word and thought vomit. Half sentences... just thoughts and notes and feelings. I never go back and re-read anything because I just want it to be feelings and thoughts out flowing. But it also marks some significant events that have happened. It’s super helpful, personally. I’ve been doing it for the last two years and it’s completely free flow.
Really interesting that you don‘t re-read! Journaling feels really daunting to me for some weird reason, I know I doesn‘t have to be a literary masterpiece haha. Not re-reading might take some pressure off for me. 🙏🏼

I recognize that sometimes re-reading trauma is like re-living it sometimes and can be re-traumatizing all over. -- which is why I typically avoid it. My journals are just a place for me to get out everything. Sometimes I write super pretty and almost bullet journal the page and other times it's the sloppiest writing and a legit hot mess. It's my 100% no judgement space for my brain dump, thoughts, and feelings. I HIGHLY recommend trying it!
i journal the same way!! i found that re-reading my entires would lead me to ruminate about certain things for longer so i made a hard rule for myself to just Not Read them back for a long time lol
i do the same thing! also although sometimes i feel compelled to reread my entries, i literally CANT because it kinda triggers me and might send me spiraling back to that place lol. but yeah! unstructured journalling like this actually really helps

My fall semester was the hardest on me. I’ve never felt so “down” (I really don’t know how else to put it). I did not feel like myself and just felt so overwhelmed and just...sad. Reading a self help book in the mornings has REALLY helped me recently. I do 10 minutes of self care (which is reading a self help book) & I write a list of things I have worries about or people that I want to pray on while I read & then I pray after! It’s such a nice way to start the day

My last semester of college, I went through a breakup during finals week. My mental health was so down I started having psychosomatic symptoms like numbness, pain in my arms/legs, and chest pain. It took everything in me to finish papers, study for multiple exams, and give presentations when all I wanted to do was lay down and cry. We have incredible strength within us! Sending you lots of positive energy and prayers 💓 You are an amazing human, and knowingly or unknowingly you have helped so many of us get through bad days!! 😘

It’s really helpful to show how you’re taking steps to take care of yourself like spending time in nature, time with loved ones, etc. there is a type of journaling that has been proved to improve mood where you list I am grateful for, I will focus on, and I look forward to. I do those at the end of my regular journaling which is usually my dream from the night before. It’s nice to look back on and to make you think about the good parts of the day

I felt what you were going through the entire of month of finals.The stress led to the point that my physical body malfunction. I was in the hospital for a week. So, I thank you for being real with not being ok and it is ok to put yourself first! I am like you where I get the day off and I do homework or take care of others instead of taking a day off so thank you for showing that you took sometime for yourself! I had never been able to stick with journaling and then a couple years ago I started being really raw and vulnerable in my journal. Now I write super often and it is how I process hard stuff... a lot of the time I don't even fully realize how I'm feeling until I have to put it into words and write it down. I've been kind of feeling like Noelle lately. In a writing class that I was excited about when I signed up, but now my mental health is not the greatest and it's such a struggle to get my work done, which then overwhelms me. BUT getting through it. Yesterday after taking TWO naps I finally felt like I could handle it. hang in there to anyone struggling with this kind of thing! we CAN do it!

I have a journal that I use ONLY when I am feeling incredibly anxious/on the verge of a panic attack and all I do is write about what I think is stressing me out and how I feel about it. I find it really helps, especially since I only use it for those specific circumstances. I hope journaling helps for you too!!

I saved this video until I submitted my final two assignments for this semester of grad school. My lit review was 3 pages short but my brain is toasted, so I'll live with it. This year was a real bummer for school and I wanted to drop out nearly every day this spring semester, but I have a pretty sunny outlook for the Fall now that it's over! Hopefully this summer is full of good reads and a little healing! I've been reading lots of dark and heavy stuff recently to work through my moods. I am about 75% done with Say Nothing and it is one of the best non-fiction books I've read in a long time. I hope to sit down and finish it tomorrow now that the responsibility of school is off my back for a little while!

there is a type of journaling that has been proved to improve mood where you list I am grateful for, I will focus on, and I look forward to. I do those at the end of my regular journaling which is usually my dream from the night before. It’s nice to look back on and to make you think about the good parts of the day
You inspire me so much! Even though you are not feeling so well you still go outside, do things you love, meet with people you love and move your body!
Because I don't feel well myself because of my finals I really look up to you and how much you still get done. I feel like I'm just existing day after day and not really moving forward.

I went to the doc for a mental breakdown this week and was prescribed new anxiety meds, and, while I absolutely hate that you are going through a hard time, I know I am not alone in the struggles of life. I need to take a page out of your book and be more proactive about it, I applaud you for making your mental wellbeing your priority. It is so easy to let that be the first thing we neglect. I felt what you were going through the entire of month of finals.The stress led to the point that my physical body malfunction. I was in the hospital for a week. So, I thank you for being real with not being ok and it is ok to put yourself first! I am like you where I get the day off and I do homework or take care of others instead of taking a day off so thank you for showing that you took sometime for yourself! Also, I was the same with journaling and now I tried it again and I keep it more real rather than a catalog or an agenda. And I love it! I hope it works with you 💛💛 let us know how it goes! I had never been able to stick with journaling and then a couple years ago I started being really raw and vulnerable in my journal. Now I write super often and it is how I process hard stuff... a lot of the time I don't even fully realize how I'm feeling until I have to put it into words and write it down. I've been kind of feeling like Noelle lately. In a writing class that I was excited about when I signed up, but now my mental health is not the greatest and it's such a struggle to get my work done, which then overwhelms me. BUT getting through it. Yesterday after taking TWO naps I finally felt like I could handle it. hang in there to anyone struggling with this kind of thing! we CAN do it!

I have a journal that I use ONLY when I am feeling incredibly anxious/on the verge of a panic attack and all I do is write about what I think is stressing me out and how I feel about it. I find it really helps, especially since I only use it for those specific circumstances. I hope journaling helps for you too!!

I saved this video until I submitted my final two assignments for this semester of grad school. My lit review was 3 pages short but my brain is toasted, so I'll live with it. This year was a real bummer for school and I wanted to drop out nearly every day this spring semester, but I have a pretty sunny outlook for the Fall now that it's over! Hopefully this summer is full of good reads and a little healing!
I've been reading lots of dark and heavy stuff recently to work through my moods. I am about 75% done with Say Nothing and it is one of the best non-fiction books I've read in a long time. I hope to sit down and finish it tomorrow now that the responsibility of school is off my back for a little while!
