I just got done with my 2014 retro fit steering wheel on a 2007. Had to watch your video step by step, over and over. But you’re right it worked. Had to program it a few times, but after testing it out for over an hour. Never lost programming even after I disconnected the battery to double check airbag. Thx for this video. My out of pocket came to about 500 also.
I'm sorry you lost me with how to wire the 1242 plugs. I get that one of them gets wired to the white to purple wire and plugs into the center of the clock spring. I also saw that the other 1242 gets plugged in under the steering column but what does that 1242 get wired to ? You never show anything being wired to it.
sweetbrandigirl what ever pin that you put your wire on the 1242 plug on the steering wheel side will be the same on the underdash side, I believe mine was labeled abc or 123 something like that so if your wires on pin A then pin A on the underdash side will be the pass though
@@TanTinPerformance OK let me see if I understand what you just said . So if I wire the purple wire from the steering wheel to the white wire of the pac together right ? then both of those go to a single wire on the wpt 1242 lets say the first pin on the top left. Then your saying I should also use the top left pin for the other wpt 1242 ? Is that right ?
hey, can you send a diagram by any chance of the installation you did. I am trying to look into getting a 10-14 steering wheel myself for my 05 mustang. You did a great job on the video... I just want something that I can look at while watching. Thank You!
I have the 2014 steering wheels everything are connected by video, everything work except de cruise control, my plug have two additional cable, maybe my color are different, please can you help me with that, my two additional cable are blue/white, and red/white, any help please
Hello, I wired it up the same and the cruise control isn't working, my cruise wires have a blue wire with a white line and a red wire with a white line going into the plug. I think that I need a 2010-2012 harness and this one is for a 2012-2014
If I just want the horn to work do I need to do anything other than transfer the airbag? I didn't want to cut into my looms yet. But wasn't sure how the horn worked on it. Could I use the old u bracket and loom horn hookup and ground or is it simpler than that? Thanks!
hello, I need if are possible, the picture of the connector of cruise control, my harness had different color, and I want to move all pin on the correct location of the plug on the cruise control, please send me a picture, I have everything work except the cruise control, my harness have 6 cable, so i think, 2 of that I don't use, but I need to know which
So I did the same swap but my wheel didn't come with the voice, phone and Ok button. I wired exactly like yours and I also have the swi rc. When everything is connected, the led light on the PAC is illuminated which doesn't allow me to program. If I have the white wire disconnected, the PAC powers on correctly with the 3 led flash. Any advice?
Excellent video.

will this work on an aftermarket head unit with apple carplay?
Yes, that’s what I was using in my car I had a pioneer head unit, you should be good as long as your head unit has a input for steering wheel controls
I was wondering why my horn goes off at random times while driving the car, I have the wireing done the same trying to retain only cruise control.
The horn is a ground Circuit I believe, I’d make sure the springs and contacts are apart sometimes they can get bent
Nice video but you don't need a PAC module for this to work.
Some radios it will work without but most won’t work without some kind of module to convert the signal
Probably we can make all buttons work by using a controlpro (SWI-CP2) meant for 10-14 Mustangs?
Does the cruise control work still?
Yes it still works

sweetbrandigirl, it gets wired to a steering wheel interface, I left that part out because there all wired differently
@@TanTinPerformance Aw ok well I'm using the PAC SWI cp2 any ideas on what wires I connect to the 1242 ?

sweetbrandigirl yes that’s how it works
I can no longer find the SWI-RC, is there another module I can use? if so how do I wire it? Please
You should be able to use a similar pac steering wheel interface and most pac stuff wires up the same
You just had to 3.5 plug in for all buttons to work? My stereo has the 3.5 plug but not key 1,2
sergio garrido some of the buttons don’t work
@@TanTinPerformance is the 3.5 jack the blue one?

any idea if this can work with a maestro? I already have one of those in the car.

I don’t have a 100% idea what the additional wires are, it’s might have to do if your car is a different year
@@TanTinPerformance only I need a picture of the connector so I can see the location of the cable
@@joser.rodriguez-rios4016 I don’t own the car anymore so I cant get you a photo sorry
Do you remember where u connected the pac swi rc module to? I cant seem to power it up.
I hooked it to radio power and ground
@@TanTinPerformance the red and black wires only right? No need to connect yellow or any other colored wires?
@@Gt_Rickshow i believe so and I hooked it to the key power of the radio so it’s not on all the time
@@TanTinPerformance thanks brotha! I will try that

I can’t really help you there, I no longer own the car. There are some helpful forum posts out there
Did your stereo have the 3.5mm jack for the swi-rc to plug into? My stereo has the 2 wire key-1 & key-2.

Southwest Iowa
I wish I can retrofit this into my new edge. I’m not a big fan of the big truck steering wheel those came with. Thanks ford parts bin.
Thanks a ton!
