I know this was a while ago but I am doing this mod now. The resistor you want is a 1Kilo Ohm resistor (not a 100Kilo Ohm). I ran some tests on my steering wheel and in order to get the resistance values he measures you have to use 1Kilo Ohm. He says 100Kilo Ohm somewhere but then he reads the correct color codes corresponding to a 1Kilo Ohm resistor. And that is Brown Black Red Gold. On the close-ups, I could not see any red so I did a little trial and error testing. And nice job on giving all the resistance readings for the various switches, that really helped tremendously. Otherwise great video it got me going down the right path.
@@johnceravino3908 I have not had a chance to do the install yet but I will update when I do. I am also using this UA-cam video as a guide ua-cam.com/video/-R-Jz6E3B3Y/v-deo.html

Hi Alexander I know this is an old video but I just did this mod and I was wondering if anyone got the phone to work. I can't seem to get mine to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Roy
hi i have a 2010-2014 steering wheel i installed it like you said on my 2005 mustang the lights are on (the buttons) i even tried with the resistance of the buttons they all give different values but the cruise control still doesn t turn on ? yet i recheck 100 times the wires .. they are like you said .. can someone help !!!

did you ever get this to work with this wiring set up? I bought this same steering wheel for my s197 but it was from someone else who had it in their s197 previously. They had everything wired a little differently from what you have here. They have only the purple wire hooked up to the single green wire with the connector and left the yellow wire unplugged. I also see the blue wire is unplugged. I want to do what you did here but I want to know that it worked out for you first. Thanks.
+Alexandru Bauer Thanks for the reply and the link! I actually read through that post and a few others today. I'm doing a whole audio system upgrade and the steering wheel is being a pain in the butt... I'm going to try and wire things your way. The other problem I have is that I bought a maestro steering wheel control adapter and because this steering wheel is off of the newer Mustangs, it's extremely difficult to figure out how to wire the adapter. The steering wheel has sync controls but obviously the S197 doesn't have a sync box so the wiring options it's giving me are non-applicable. It's telling me to wire the control box inputs to two the headunit wires which makes no sense, as I figure the box inputs should go to the steering wheel wires, and the output wire goes to the headunit remote wire.
+Alexandru Bauer The previous owner of the steering wheel has cruise control working so I'm tempted not to touch it but I'm confused XD maybe I'll just call maestro.... Damn I should have gotten a universal auto-programming adapter.
+Alexandru Bauer Sorry for the spam but I figure if I wire it your way, I can use the buttons that were originally intended for the sync module as extra buttons for more funtions with the headunit right?
Hi Alexandru. Just started to planning the 2010-GT500 install on my 2005 Mustang. I can see more different ways to wire both the GT500 abd the Boss wheel. so from the old steering wheel wiring you cut off the old connector and spliced pac-swi-rc connector to get the radio and the phone and cruise control to work?
is there any way to get the audio controls working based on your video without a different head unit that isn't stock? And with the ohm resistor and the connector for the audio control would I need anything else to get it to work?
+Alexandru Bauer cool I thought that might be it. With the interface boxes/modules did you have to place them anywhere special? And where did you get the other connector used for the audio buttons? Also I really do appreciate you helping me figure this all out.
