haha I was dying inside each time you said kon XD. Such a sick song, enjoyed your reaction to it! Totally agree with you on Polyphia keeping that dark vibes but having that contrast with the lighter Chon sound. However I liked how progressive it was. Totally could've been a 7 minute song with a little more structure to it and I still would've been all about it. hahah 4.5 Nik's outta 5. Heckin tight score!
Clay, the drummer (not the bassist), rips. He is a great drummer and fits the style they are going for better than Brandon Burkhalter (old drummer). You should react to his original music! Brandon’s, that is.
Dude, I met Clay 4 days ago and he is a straight up genuine guy and a fucking ridiculous drummer. The whole band was insane. If you haven't seen them live, please do yourself a favour and see them!!
Clay A is a great drummer man bit he’s no where near Brandon’s level. Clay has crazy chops and still makes 80% boring parts. Brandon is the better drummer and writer
Blake Warrens I totally agree. However, Brandon tries to do too much. It sounds good, but it doesn’t fit with the tone and style Polyphia are going for. Polyphia wants a poppy, guitar centric sound, which is why Clay fits better.
Polyphia's rhythm section is way too underrated. Both their drummer and bassist are ignored in comparison to the guitarists, but are an an equal level on their respective instruments. They need more attention.
Just saw Intervals and Polyphia on Monday. I didn't know Intervals but they were sick! and Polyphia went hard as fuck, such genuine chill guys and a great gig
Have you already checked out hail the sun? Their new song called glass: half empty is awesome, and they are also touring with polyphia, next month I believe
Currently trying to learn this for a future tutorial video and IT'S SO DIFFICULT 😫But i'll get it down lol. Great video/reaction, man! I reacted the same way when I first heard it this morning haha
One, one more thing. You should cover bands like this more often because it would expand your guitar playing horizons and put you in a different mentality.
Omg that band is soooo good damn the guitar solos really drives this song so perfectly oh lord what the fuck I’m so astonished by that nik omg the guitar riffs on the chorus loved that energetic vibe reminds me of when Jeff healey did his instrumental breakdowns he did in the past but great awesome energetic pop melodies feel to it great chorus loving that performance way cool loved their album great vibe way too cool I gotta tell you nik my partner great band I rate this 5 and a half niks for me based on what I said in the beginning great reaction bro u and I really jammed on this song together yeah that’s cool bro love u 😍
YAAAAASSSS Hey, Nik, Chon it's spelled not with letter "k" in the beginning, like chorus, christian, charcoal, but with "ch", like cheese, chill, chain, chimp. btw, i like your reaction videos and your sincere emotions. keep it up :)
I love Polyphia too and particularly their new style, but I don't really feel any strong emotions when listening to them; same thing with Chon. More of just a non-chalant, let's chill type of vibe. I guess people really do experience music differently. Love seeing reaction videos for that reason; to really see and understand how different we as humans are at experiencing things at every level; psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, viscerally, etc.
I agree dude, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. I listen to Polyphia in the same way I listen to other progressive rock bands. Because the riffs aren't really straightforward (Despite the sounds and motifs themselves sounding like straightforward music - ie, dance music and other easy listening) I tend not to mosh out to them and instead sit back and listen. I even do it at gigs. I love to watch people play their instrument and when the riffs require me to pay attention, I can't simply figure out what they're doing by ear. Especially while rocking out to the music. It doesn't mean we love it any less, though. Things can be appreciated for their structure (like maths) and don't have to be unexplainable or metaphysical for us to properly enjoy them.
Polyphia is the best experimental band of any kind I've ever listened to, let alone rock. The first two albums were autistic as fuck but they came into their own when they figured out what they were doing. They take "experimental" risks but make them uniform and work together in the grander piece. Tons of weird shit going on here but all compliments one another. Will be listening to for ages.
Aside from Renaissance, Polyphia has not made any impression on me. I get that it's unique, but it's just not for me. Renaissance reminded me of AAL but a bit more poppy, but since then it's just gotten more and more poppy-feeling.
Not sure if you play or not, but I feel like this is music for guitarists. It's hard to understand how good they are without knowing how technical they are. It's different. To each their own.
I'm sorry I just have to say this on something because I've seen a lot of videos like this gay lingo has come into the straight world so hard 😂 slay yaaaassssss Queen I'm by no means complaining I love it dearly but oh my God
1:40 is the reason they named the track “Yas”
^^^^
Orgasmic tinge to that YAS
Chon not Kon lol Love you man
This is it ^
I had a 50/50 chance...
Thanks for telling me though, I always get it mixed up!
You're good bro. Keep shredding

I guess I watch too much Bleach
This new polyphia album is basically the entire new age of guitar summed up; polyphia, Jason Richardson, Chon, Yvette Young, ichika mateus etc.
Clay, the drummer (not the bassist), rips. He is a great drummer and fits the style they are going for better than Brandon Burkhalter (old drummer).
You should react to his original music! Brandon’s, that is.
never even noticed that clay a and clay gober have the same first name
Omuk yep.
Dude, I met Clay 4 days ago and he is a straight up genuine guy and a fucking ridiculous drummer. The whole band was insane. If you haven't seen them live, please do yourself a favour and see them!!

So is CHON supposed to be an organic chemistry reference?
The primary elements that create life.
Ryan McAllister So, yes lol
super late reply but yeah, they found their name on the science channel while needing a name to put on a flier for their first show
Polyphia's rhythm section is way too underrated. Both their drummer and bassist are ignored in comparison to the guitarists, but are an an equal level on their respective instruments. They need more attention.
This channel and you doing these are the reason I finally know of this band, thank you very much. Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you :)
Yup Chon, Polyphia and Intervals are the 3 bands that belong together!!
^^^^
Just saw Intervals and Polyphia on Monday. I didn't know Intervals but they were sick! and Polyphia went hard as fuck, such genuine chill guys and a great gig
C.h.o.n Carbon. Hydrogen. Oxygen. Nitrogen
4 Main Elements Needed For Life
Søren Lærkholm Haenschke just look up any live performance of theirs. It’s CHON not KON
Søren Lærkholm Haenschke yes I believe so, but they still pronounce it CHON
Mix vigorously with Polyphium and you get this beautiful shit
Also known as *air*
Have you already checked out hail the sun? Their new song called glass: half empty is awesome, and they are also touring with polyphia, next month I believe
I'll check it out :)
dude Hail The Sun's moshpit is crazy, they throw punches
When the whole song is a guitar solo, when they are doing a guitar solo in the song its a masterpiece
Hey Nik. Have you seen Scott's very short playthough/sneak peek of Saucy? I've been waiting for that one to come out, it sounds very very groovy asf.
I'll check it out!
I love this solo so much. Something about it speaks to me.
Currently trying to learn this for a future tutorial video and IT'S SO DIFFICULT 😫But i'll get it down lol. Great video/reaction, man! I reacted the same way when I first heard it this morning haha
Thank you :)
3:48 You were SO close on the drummer's name. It's 'Clay' not 'Slay'...
This man said Kon 😂, it's Chon though.
Hey dude I'd love to hear your review or overview for the new beartooth album you were saying uou were hyped for in the disease reaction video!
"Sweet Tea" and "James Franco" by Polyphia are really fun tracks.
One, one more thing. You should cover bands like this more often because it would expand your guitar playing horizons and put you in a different mentality.
you best believe this is my new song to listen to when im smoking
chons got some good music yall should react
Seen chon live with animals as leaders. Ever since I've been a fan boi
Do more polyphia! Love the channel
And btw it's all about that emotion. Also yes, clay is the best bassist out there.
Yas queen!!!
Yassssss
The drummer is also named Clay, just like the bassist
Oh damn, thank you!
I like how he was like, "I don't know your name dude, but [word that rhymes with the guy's name]" lmao
Another masterpiece reviewed by the master himself 🍷
Thanks fam!
Ah yes Pilyphia. Or as I like to call them “jazz with distortion”
I think that's mostly modern jazz fusion
What's great is that the drummer's name is also Clay. Both Clay's slay haha 😂
Nik is the most underrated UA-cam guitarist on earth
YAAAAASSSS
Hey, Nik, Chon it's spelled not with letter "k" in the beginning, like chorus, christian, charcoal, but with "ch", like cheese, chill, chain, chimp.
btw, i like your reaction videos and your sincere emotions. keep it up :)
the drummer's called clay aswell, bassist is Clay Gober and drummer is Clay Aeschliman
Great song but WTF do you call this genre???
AJ Ghost “the best”
Lol that^^^ or just simply progressive
Genre called Chon or polyphia on Spotify random
iTunes has some of their music labeled as Art Rock
Christian
Pls ....Chon: Waterslide
I like this song too
It's Chon not Chon
Only just got the notification for this 😯
What do you think of 'Joe Dart' bass?
Seeing this after "Playing God" and all those, they have done a long journey in many respects.
I love Polyphia too and particularly their new style, but I don't really feel any strong emotions when listening to them; same thing with Chon. More of just a non-chalant, let's chill type of vibe. Thanks for react it man 😀👌🏻
Thank YOU for watching!
i am a nail and you saying "con" is the hammer.

Sounds like a jazz version of the outro to most fortnite videos 🧐
I can't un-hear that
Drummer is also called clay
Genghis Chon lmao
Very gooood
2:27 Yaz
That's so Khan!
I would call it Progressive Cleancore
Am big chon fan

no hating on them, but yea thats the only album i liked too
For me renaissance was their weakest work, it got boring really quick , those new songs are the best so far imo, can't wait for the album
Not sure if you play or not, but I feel like this is music for guitarists. It's hard to understand how good they are without knowing how technical they are. It's different. To each their own.
React. Yas song : sarkob, LaL, sefarshi
Ch-on. Not Kon. Just FY to the Izzy
One more thing, it takes a few listens to really understand what they are trying to do.
Say the ch in chon like chips
Lackluster compared to goat and OD, still vibes though
this is my favourite so far, OD 2nd, Goat 3rd.. cant wait for the full album
Pretty damn good
The bass player’s hair changes every some.
at Polyphia's QNA, they made sure we knew it was pronounced "yawwwsss" and not "yeaahhss"
Chon(shawn)*
Hahah that's my name
Dude, how do you do to remasterizar the vídeo to 60fps
I believe it's chon.
No copyright?
The drummers name is clay and so is the bassist but you probably already knew his name
From Instrumental prog metal and Math Rock to this ear-creampie
Never seen these before. I was expecting him to shit all over the video and glad it was the opposite because this song rocks
polyphia is technical death metal but pop
Never watching this on drugs
chin
Eargasm
Hey
Omg Con 🤣🤣🤣🤣
man i like your vids but you need to expose yourself more to their scene/outside metal.. keep it up!
Thanks!
Lmao, KON
Chon = Short for Ramón
Someone teach this man to read lol
I think the video makes it better.
KHHHAAAAAAAAAANNNN
Fuck is up with his eyes? Is that his defensive mechanism or something

What was the bassist smoking,weed?
Con? You surely mean Chon.
Kon? Really?
Has Nik ever listened to something and be like “nah, it’s trash”?
Lol it’s chon
how is c-h-o-n pronounced "con"
English is weird. Ch can be pronounced k, just like Christian
Kon
I'm sorry I just have to say this on something because I've seen a lot of videos like this gay lingo has come into the straight world so hard 😂 slay yaaaassssss Queen I'm by no means complaining I love it dearly but oh my God
Please tell me you were kidding...Chon CHON. Come on man.
