Everyone in this band is super talented snd they all mesh and play so well together, Drummer Clay is always on point and Gober is also a slept on bassist.
I agree & all these guys are insane levels of talented. Tim is an exceptional guitarist & composer, has the look & presence so he naturally gets focused on a lot but the rest of the guys deserve serious time in the spotlight. Each of them radiate talent & have dedicated serious amounts of time & energy into their craft. Glad to see it happening more.
@@St3yn012 Yep, there's the "Clay's underrated, but he's actually the beast" under EVERY video with Polyphia. He's a beast for sure, but it's getting so frustrating with these attention whores in the comments.
The first thing that I thought when I heard this song was that it sounded more like something they would've made right before The Most Hated EP but with their current level of skill and precision.
The fact they basically mixed their old style and their new one is really cool, sometimes I missed the old-era when they got some shred.. but having both (the shred, the dududu tchtch-tch-tch MAAAAAAAAATH etc) is really nice
That’s been there for a while tbh. Tim never takes the forefront for “solos” His Melody’s sound like solos, but even looking back on songs like G.O.A.T. Scottie really took the defined guitar solo of that track. I definitely agree it’s nice to see more of it. He’s a phenomenal player who gets shadowed sometimes by how ridiculous Tim is as composing hooks.
Don’t you worry, a while ago tim had mentioned that there’s a song that’s super shreddy and another song that’s really heavy, really looking forward to listening to their heavy song
YES SCOTTY!!!!! I heard this song before I saw the video and I was really hoping that the absolutely ripping solo was him! And of course Tim’s composition, and the groove from both Clay’s is just ace.
i wonder if the guitars are now permanently like this its the one tim used in his neural dsp video and i'd love it if they made him a signature version of this.
The terms you're looking for with "Playing God" are *Bossa-nova* ish sounds and *Flamenco styled* notes. You lurk around watching many of these and you start to get the hang of it lol.
Never been huge on Polyphia but the song does the Polyphia thing very well, I'm sure the fans of the band will dig it, even though it didn't stroke the Polyphalus like Playing God did.
I don’t really listen to polyphia but I could totally see them get a top 10 pop hit if they had someone like Doja cat to do vocals and I’d be down for it
Have you ever gone to a huge casino style top of the line buffet food court? At the food court, trying to eat everything and taste everything?? That’s what Polyphia is! It is hard to digest the sounds in your ear holes! There is sooooo much to hear and feel and see!
Polyphia have really shown that they can do literally anything they want musically. It's incredible. From the old shred days of inspire to this now almost sounding like an 8bit video game tune played out on guitar
The drummer playing live had a problem where his earphones didn't play the click that he follows to the temple the song, so he went off of the tapping on his foot by an assistant. It was explained reaction video by DragonForce that it would be very difficult to do. Drummer should get some praise
Да это просто п....ц , и да ник верно подметил что звучит как Ариана Гранде так как он до этого делал гитарный кавер на ее песню но блин, Я не успел отойти от playing God и тут такое
I so agree with the comment that the guitars are the lead singers. Definitely reminds me of Renaissance with a new level of precision, songwriting, and production
@Dragon Ball fans can't read You are posting on a public website. I'm no more stalking you than you do Nik. Fair game. Again, I'm just enjoying watching you whine.
This song makes me think, why not just go ahead and have vocals? Because that is how it’s constructed, and the melody is there. And it would probably be more popular. It’s not like they can’t keep doing everything else the same. It can still be prog.
That was the quickest "let's not waste time" i have ever seen from you, Nik.
I think he also has a video where he just says "Go" 😂
I really liked that
Times really not wasting 😆
Best way to start a video tbh
There's never been a band which has made me both want to quit and keep playing guitar at the same time.

@Dragon Ball fans can't read polyphia .. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Animals as Leaders and The Contortionist.

It really feels like a perfect mix of Renaissance and Most Hated and I am all for it.
Agreed
You are 100 percent correct. Both my favorites.

Felt more like Muse and TMH to me, loving the new sound so much lol
It's actually so good to see Scott show off his ability more because he's absolutely incredible it's definitely not the tim henson show
Also Clay A's is getting more space
Yo straight up, Scott is big time slept on, dude riiiips live.

every single musician there is in a class of their own, but tim is pretty.
Polyphia's drummer doesn't get nearly enough praise
I think Luke Holland co-wrote the drum track, hell of a combo.
Agree
His hi hat and stack fills are just unbelievable.
All I ever see is people praising the drummer.

The first thing that I thought when I heard this song was that it sounded more like something they would've made right before The Most Hated EP but with their current level of skill and precision.
same, instant muse vibes but it's evolved into something so much more
What I like about polyphia is that they basically all shut up on all their socials until like a few months before an album drop.
and sometimes tim’s like “here’s a cool 30 second piece you’ll never get a full song from”

Producer: How much groove y’all put in this?
The band: …more.
The thing that I love polyphia for is how they revive my love for music it makes me want to write my own tracks.
Polyphia literally released this 5 hours ago, this man is on it.
He has been quicker before. Possibly under an hour I believe?
These two singles are absolute euphoria. Long Time metal head and I appreciate this band’s creativity.
Super happy that Scottie is getting to flex more on their new stuff. Always talented, but there seems to be "less" focus on Tim's lines.

Gonna appreciate the videography going on here too, guessing it's a robotic arm with a camera on the end of it, synced to the track. It's sick
Came here to comment the same thing, I'd be very interested in a behind-the-scenes look here. It's stunning

Scottie got to step up and pop off on this oneeee! love it
I honestly like this waaaaay more than the first one if I’m honest. Just sounds better to my ears
My fav part of this song is they let Scott play. A usual song is just Clay and Tim in the video and Scott is my fav member of the band.

Tasty melodies and tight grooves!
The drumming is always great, but the guitar sounds like the meow option on a kid's toy piano

The Most Hated era polyphia would see this song and be so proud. The groove never stops
