    You showed downloading a virtual audio cable. Where was this used? I saw where the restream plugin was used, but don't understand how you are using the virtual cable. Secondly, when I put the restream plugin on the master channel, the only way I can send sound to OBS is if monitoring on the channel is on, which I do not want for vocals and guitar because it causes a doubling effect. Can you help me sort this out?

    Hey author, just a tip about the soloing an instrument and losing your voice: you should be able to solo multiple tracks by Ctrl+Clicking the voice channel after soloing the instrument. At least, I think it's Ctrl, im on a mac so it's Cmd for me. Great video, this solved audio through my DAW to my stream as well as the super annoying voice latency thing. ❤

    Thank you for the video. Is there any way to send the mic signal to OBS via Ableton->Reastream WITHOUT hearing yourself/monitoring it? Cause when monitoring the mic in ableton it plays in my headphones

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  2 роки тому

      In the event you dont want to hear yourself, You would create a mic input in OBS and just make sure monitoring is turned off. IE run your mic directly into OBS. You can use vst plugins on there, I just find the process easier in Ableton. But I don't think this could be achieved without monitoring when it comes to running the Vox into Ableton.

    But in a ableton do we have to select our interface right ? And second thing is, how to set up the voice meter software because I watched you downloaded it

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  2 роки тому

      You would be using ableton as you regularly would. Nothing is different except you are adding the reastream plugin onto your master channel so it can 'send out' the signal to OBS. I actually mostly used The VB Cable audio driver, but during this video I just happened to have it set to the voice meter driver. The driver you choose does not neccesarily matter, as long as the driver is not playing any audio through it. The reasoning is because we are not relying on the audio driver to recieve audio, we are strictly relying on the reastream plugin.

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  Місяць тому

      Solo channels should still go through the master on ableton. Assuming you are running your vocals through ableton, I think the main option would be either to only enable the audio tracks you want to hear, or if you hold ctrl and than click, you could solo your vox, and the track you want to hear. But thats still arguably annoying to have to do. I personally wouldn't just use grouping, and disable the tracks you dont want to hear / enable the ones you do.

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  2 роки тому

      Hmm. I think what you want to do is consider recording the mic on a separate input inside obs, then turn monitoring off for that input. Do some quick test recordings to make sure it's working as a good habit. You can make use of plugins in obs as well. You just have to make sure the plugins are installed in the right folder for obs to use them. Obs also has a semi decent set of built in plugins for recording purposes.

      @@ILLUMINI-MUSIC Thank you for the very fast response! I tried this, but OBS doesn't pick up the signal while Ableton is active. It seems the mic is only picked up while routing it through the VB Cable setting you recommended in this video. Any ideas on this one?

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  2 роки тому +1

      There should be a way to create another input in obs that directly takes your mic input. Essentially meaning obs will have 2 separate inputs, one for Ableton, and one for the mic input. ableton could potentially be taking priority of the audio while it's running though. I'd have to dig into it but I'm pretty sure it's possible. I'll try to get around to checking this weekend.

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC

    Hi! thank you for your video! It almost worked but I have two problems for my side
    1. using the VB audio driver doesn't work in obs (the plugin reastream doest'n receive any signal.
    2. i succeeded by the asio driver (asio input capture), i get a signal in reastream, but there is some weirds sizzles in the sound, some imperfections (not really far, it's loud enough to be unlistenable).
    I use a scarlett sound interface, with the asio driver, and my sound is coming out by my scarlett extern interface.
    this two questions are relatable i think because you don't use asio input capture and specifically the VB audio driver.

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  Рік тому

      Sorry if im off track here, as im having a little trouble understanding your question. But what it sounds like is that you may not be using reastream correctly.
      1. The sound doesn't actually get sent to OBS via any of the selected input options in OBS, the sound is transferred into OBS through use of the reastream plugin. Youl want to have reastream running in both Ableton, and OBS, with the settings mentioned in the video. The reason I use VB cable driver, is because it acts as a 'dummy driver' that I can use so that my microphone is not coming through twice. (Only coming into restream from ableton)
      2. I didnt go into deeper detail about this in the video, but what you will be actively listening to is the audio you are hearing from ableton (as if you werent even using OBS). If you monitor through OBS, then you will be dealing with the latency (time it takes for the audio to reach obs).
      Try watching through it one more time to ensure your setting up reastream correctly, and record a quick video to verify its working. Dont hesitate to comment back if you continue to have issues, and worst case scenario ill hop onto a discord call to help you get it set up! Thanks for watching :)

      1. Both plugins are running as the same vst type (IE vst2 64bit)
      2. Both plugins are enabled.
      3. The plugin in (ableton) is on the master channel., Is also set to send out audio, and set to local broadcast, and audio channels are set to 2.
      4. The plugin in (OBS) is set to receive audio.
      5. Both identifiers match! (Can leave as default)
      Your audio settings on Ableton and windows should be set to what you normally produce with. Reastream is what gets the audio into OBS, it's independent of everything else.

      It could be a number of things. But I would first start by double checking the vst settings, make sure they are set correctly as show in the video. Then from there id take a look into the audio settings on the PC itself. Make sure that is lined out how youd expect. You could experiment whether or not reasteeam is actually working by running 2 instances of your DAW, and placing reastream in both. Basically the way you would check, is once the plugins are setup in both daws. Just play a song or a long sound on the broadcasting end, then go to the receiving instance, and see if audio if coming through. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching :)

      It won't matter which driver you use, as long as it's not your main driver, because it's just simply acting as a dummy driver.

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  Рік тому

      One of my Replies on another comment: It could be a number of things.

    • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  Рік тому

      One more of my Replies to another comment: Make sure:
      1 other thing to try is to close Ableton before playing back OBS recordings, as ableton can sometimes take priority over the audio depending on the settings.
      Let me know how it goes!

      I would add just because I was having a problem with this, I mistakenly chose in OBS "Audio Output Capture" instead of "Audio Input Capture" for my source. Once I switched it to the input capture, it was all good. They can be set up almost identically which is what made it look like I was doing it right, but wasn't receiving from Ableton.

      It shouldn't really matter what your audio settings are in the ableton preferences. Reastream is what is sending the audio from ableton to obs. The native ableton settings have nothing to do with it. May sure reastream is set on your master channel in Ableton, and has all the settings I mention in the video. And the ensure reastream has also been setup to receive audio inside obs.

    Hey man great video; unfortunately my reaplugs (and all VST) are in an external drive so OBS won't pick it up in the drop down. I installed an additional copy of reaplugs in the C:/ folder that OBS finds VST's and it recognized it; however, the audio isn't linking since I believe it's because my Ableton is using my F:/ reaplugs and OBS a separate reaplugs from C:/. • @ILLUMINI-MUSIC
      @ILLUMINI-MUSIC  3 роки тому +1

      I'm happy I could help! ☺️ The reason it cuts out is because when you solo an track, it only sends the soloed tracks audio out. All others are muted (including the track your sending you're vocals through). To avoid this, you can set up a microphone input directly inside OBS. Meaning you will have 2 inputs, one for ableton using the reastream plugin, and another acting simply as a mic input. It's a bit more setup, but it does work.
