I have a similar problem. Upstairs Zone 2 no water when I try to purge. All that comes out is about 1 inch of water in 5 gallon bucket. Supply is open, return valve below sill dock is closed. Zip, nada, nothing…However if I open return valve, water gushes but that’s from boiler. Same result numerous times. Almost as if there’s no water in line yet when switch heat and boiler system on, you can hear water sloshing around. WTF?
So weird had the same shit happen to me last night except it def took me an hour of losing my mind to figure it out. It was a zone that had only a circ and I’m like “there’s no valve or check valve to stop the water flow. Wtf is going on?” And it was after a zone so I had to open the check and fast feed it. SMH. So weird tho. Got done at 8pm cuz that one call. Wanted to kick myself in the duck after. It wasn’t so obvious where it’s right there in front of u. But still was obvious enough
