    If that expansion tank is on supply piping then your not pumping away. If it on return piping it should be reconfigured anyways. Pumping away can be confusing in a closed loop system so here's ho you know if your pumping toward or away. The path of least resistance if your pumping away or toward

    3 pipe diameters is the minimum clearance required to solder near any pro press fitting. I hate to sound like a keyboard commando, but both that soldering technique and the end product is atrocious. Pull your b tank out, size your tip accordingly and practice proper technique. And for the sake of avoiding cavitation, de burr that pipe!!

      He should have a specific deburring tool, not a box cutter. And cooling down just soldered joints with a wet towel could stress the joint for premature leaks.

    • @petersmart1999
      @petersmart1999 3 роки тому

      I'm not saying I put them on return,I alway follow manufacturers recommended piping configuration,but I've seen tons of really old boilers that had pumps on returns! By rights,once you have eliminated air from a system,you should have very little air in the system,only when you make up water will you reintroduce air.If you are making up water in a closed loop,there is another issue.Not arguing a point or saying anyone is a hack,just saying that alot of the systems that go against modern practices,are indeed still up and running after many years,don't make it right but they are with very little repairs over the years.

    A California plumber here, I went to a pinhole leak on a 3/4” recirculating line tonight. I clamped it and I’m going back in the morning. I was concerned that if I soldered I was going to melt the o-ring in the press fitting that was 1’ away from the repair. After I seen your video I feel 100 better that the press fitting will serve lol. Keep up the hard work with the videos
