Thank you very much for this great deep Interview, was a really NuggetTalk with two great Peoples in the HealthSpace. I must smile a bit with the future thoughts from Siim in Video in the 1 hour 40 Video even from the Standpoint NOW its sure very natural that we all think the Future will works the way like the Past gave the Way. Unfortunately we change the Future too much in ways we would now would never beleave or understand(because we just knew the ways from the past)... From Oktober 2024 to August 2025.....so many things will change Worldwide and many thoughts, beleaves of the peoples will change dramatic in a Storm of Changes in our lives which i can not describe but i am sure that it will be goes the way. (Please dont ask me where i know it). Just mark the Times in your mind and be prepared for big Changes. Anyway i am still hoping UA-cam will never Die : ) what would be a boring World : )) I am looking forward and i hope others ,too. Greetings from Andreas
With regards HRV. When one has to make strength gains or VO2 max gains the body will have to be stressed, which means HRV will decrease during that stressed period. When the new level of fitness is reached then the HRV should revert back down. In other words keeping HRV at a minimum all the time may go against increasing strength/VO2 max.
100% agree, but most people overtrain, chronically suppressing HRV and never allowing it to recover. While long-term training will be good for average lifespan, I'd argue that the overtrained phenotype is a part of the equation for why we don't (yet) see 120yr old, life-long fitness enthusiasts.
Great interview, thanks! I have had both of your accounts subscribed. It's nice to see that there are different approaches to longevity. It would be interesting to see if siim land could slow down aging even more with a vegan diet
regarding the aliens thing: its surprisingly not too unlikely id say that humans r the main player (as of now) in the observable universe the potential for Ai to overtake us (and then all of the observable universe, in almost a blink of an eye, due to rapid (self)improvement) is the most likely step in this local area but maybe there is much more beyond the observable universe (also not to forget: one could also imagine not just looking "more outward" than the observable universe, but also instead zoom in... probably some geeky physicist will claim there is a limit into both (or some other) directions but there might as well not be one (which i find more likely tbh))
The observable universe is a small fraction of the entire universe, as is our natural ability (without telescopes) to perceive it, i.e. the visible spectrum
It doesn't really make sense to talk about protein per grams per pound since grams and pounds are a totally different metric. It would make more sense to compare how many grams per kilograms.
Is your hypothesis that a lot of exercise per week (for example, six sessions per week lasting 60-80 minutes), correlates with average lifespan but not longevity into the 80's, 90's and beyond. Is that your hypothesis or is that documented? I mean, your hypothesis is incredibly interesting. For example, soccer players do not outlive their coaches. Average lifespan of players is 80, average lifespan of coaches is 82. It is just that this view counters what the majority of experts say, e.g., you don't overtrain unless you are running more than 30 miles per week and doing more than 4-5 sessions of resistance training per week.
There are many papers showing that regular exercise training is associated with an increased average life expectancy, but where are the 115yr old fitness enthusiasts? I'm interested in identifying the exercise dose that can get me to the maximal and beyond...
@@conqueragingordietrying123 There are diminishing returns if you go weight training for more than an hour. Honestly the longevity question is hard to answer. Does stress and hard exercises age you or does it make you better and more resilient in your everyday life? Is the longest living person somebody who does not do a lot of exercice at all but is also not eating a lot of calories?
Bro .. I had notes about 1.6g /kg body weight as upper useful limit and i got so confused about 0.8g/pound (which is the same) .. Who uses these units ... The metric vs imperial debate is still relevant in 21st century ? Just use metric. This is the kind of crap that makes rockets explode.

What books do you have in the back over there Siim?
Your movies and music are as on point as your biomarkers!
Michael, you left us hanging when you said you already know what you would do!
Ha, the video isn't about me, so I didn't share
Aerospace engineering/astrophysics...
Hopefully I live long enough to actualize it
There's something humorous about Siim with the slowest pace of aging listening to death metal.
The title and book art are honestly pretty cool
Love all of the detailed questions!
Thanks @kenbrandy!
Thank you for your wonderful timestamps! ❤
Thanks @susymay7831!
Great podcast, good to know Siim isn’t too strict with ice cream! I used to be same adding berries to my morning shake, but switched to baby spinach.

Good stuff!
Thanks @richardheck3794!
hes the poster child of "just be consistent and persistent (for a long time) and ull reach any goal"
Ha, he's not the only one on that message

death metal to nap
xDDDDDD what a mad lad
I like to balance plant and animal protein intake roughly 50-50. I'll have a small piece of meat along with a can of beans for lunch and dinner.
Siim just destroyed the protein nonsense by all the Butcher Box-sponsored UA-camrs.
In a perfect world everyone would live to eighty or so and die in their sleep. I don't live in a perfect world, so I'll try to pass 100.

Ah, Bryan's doing that, showing that different approaches can slow the epigenetic pace of aging...

Do either one of you use a sauna blanket?
I don't, not sure about Siim
If I’m not mistaken, I think that’s where I first heard about them. Siim has a fancy $800 version.

Way too many commercials.
Not on my end-many long-form videos also have in-video commercials, in addition to the ads
If you are regularly watching UA-cam for health things, paying to get rid of the commercials is really worth it.
