A special man who appreciated everything he got.
No money but good values and a love for food. Respect.
We made it again last night in honor of you Jack. RIP brother
RIP
This guy is the most laid back cook I’ve ever seen
Yes he is! I love his Channel
working nights and going to school in the day. Respect.
Out of all the amazing recipes over the years, this is my absolute favorite. Something so honest and nourishing about it.
What a great-souled man! Missing you, Daddy Jack. RIP.
the last real american cooking hero.
Such a genuine , real , humble person rest in power KING ! Remarkable Human .
A good man, following his dreams, tolerating hardships and finally succeeds. Cooking is not my ultimate dream, but your personality is. Stay healthy 👍💐
Great things come through adversity Rad, I wouldn't have changed it for an easier path, it's been very rewarding. It's so important to not forget where you've come from. I was blessed to have great mentors who showed methe way! Thank You and Blessings, Jack
@Dusty
I know, right?
@@CookingWithTheBlues big daddy your were a light in an otherwise darkening world ,your energy and passion will be sorely missed sir rest easy daddy jack
Rip jack you are missed
RIP Daddy Jack
Nowadays a dozen wings cost as much as a sirloin
lol Facts!!!
@ewa fraser Everything at the store costs too much now! I have started buying whole chickens and cutting them up to save a bit. 2 wings is better than none, they make a nice appetizer.
Soon we will all eat Biden sponsored gov food
I worked at kroger (major store in my area) back in the late seventies. Chicken wings were crazy cheap back then........10 or .15 cents a pound?
in college, "all you can eat wings was $5"
This man was born to cook. He was a natural. Love the sign from The Universe having your back with the cash. I'm in Dallas but was not when his restaurant(s) were here which is a shame as I would have loved to have gone. Am looking forward to trying this sheet pan dinner. RIP Daddy Jack. Glad I found your channel.
Enjoyed the story of your Guardian Angels. RIP c the best of them, Jack !
You can learn so much from this guy (besides cooking)
Might be sacrilege to say so, but a little "Franks Red Hot sauce" and man oh man!
Love how authentic this channel is
Been watching you for years. God bless you, and stay safe
We love you big daddy jack ! Greetings from Holland!!
Simple food! That’s all we need...bravo Daddy Jack!

RIP BIG DADDY JACK
The best. Hands down my favorite cook. You're such a wholesome person who very obviously loves what he does and appreciates life. Please keep posting. Would love to head your way one day and have whatever you conjure up. Take care.
Perplexed, Thank you for the kind words and the props! I do love cooking but tired of the restaurant grind! I'm taking my show on the road as they say. I want to travel around the states finding the good old timers that have the secrets family recipes. That would be capturing history! Working On It, Jack Become a Member of “Cooking With The Blues”

@@CookingWithTheBlues Please come to Southeast Texas. I live in a small town (Willis) about50 miles north of Houston. I would be honored to hang out with you. I love cooking. I was a cook off shore in the early 80's.....no training of any kind but I've always had a knack for it.
@@CookingWithTheBlues we miss you so much
Genius recipe
I liked hearing about your struggles early in life because you and I both know that when things get better later on through working hard and scrimping, we can look back at those days with a warm glow in our hearts.
For sure Rod, it makes life that much sweeter! Thanks, Made me smile, Jack
Nice to see you back in action man! Great way to start my week off. Stay well 😎
"The Old Man and the Sea

Everything you make is simple and delicious. Brings me back to childhood dinners at grandma's. Keep cooking Daddy Jack.
Bless your soul Papa Jack!
With the saints give rest.
I keep telling my wife that one day soon we are going to make the trip up there from Pittsburgh to Daddy Jacks to meet the man and eat his food.

Wonderful, love his stuff...missed
I absolutely love recipes like this. Definitely going to give it a shot. Wings always take awhile, but these look like they came out tender and juicy sitting on that bed of potato and onion slices. Thank you for the recipe and the stories Jack! RIP.
We made this last night and it was a home run. We put a few carrots in it too.
I loved your story about finding the 3 $10 bills in the hemingway book. God Bless Jack
Another good one Jack. Yes I remember after the big snowstorms when the sky turned blue being outside in the fresh snow, nothing better brother good memories
old man & the see is a phenomenal read! RIP HEMINGWAY!
Gosh bless him. When you're poor and hungry he is serious and does not give up on a good meal. I love his commitment and skill. Thank you for sharing; that reminds and inspires me.

This gentleman is awesome Poorman’s Food Back in the days and re-creating at home
I miss Jack. I remember having a chance to visit him on a family trip but heartbroken seeing is murial at his restaurant and finding out he passed a week prior. I was devastated that i was so close to meeting him. I hope hes in a better place.
I didn't know this good person passed away!! I see when he talks he had a good sole. oh man no way he's gone 😢. I like this man. I find out he had triple bypass? smooth Chef and a good one . I've been very lucky as I had quintuple bypass and amputation of all my toes due to diabetes in 2019. I thank God every morning when I put my feet on the floor. so sad that this good man he's gone, I can hear in his voice that he had lots of friends because he was a good man 😥😥 Rest In Peace Daddy Jack. I love your cooking.

I had a similar background. No money. Parents working 2-3 jobs to support us. That gets you strong and makes you appreciate the little things. Thanks for keeping it real Mr. Daddy Jack. Can't wait to one day soon make my way over to your restaurant once we overcome this pandemic
It sure does Daniel, It makes you tough to endure what life throws at you instead of crawling up in a fetal position! Especially the restaurant business, one hard son of a gun! Loved your story of years ago and the book store, “old man and the Sea, 3 $10 bills in the book. Wow. You do have a guardian angel. Such a wonderful thing to happen to you when you needed it. You deserved it.
Thank you for sharing a very important part of life. Continued good health, Salud. I wish you well. I listen and watch your videos while I work from home every chance I have. God Bless you.
After I heard the story of the wings - You are an inspiration. I wish many chefs will learn you...
Always great to see Daddy Jack cook. I will try this. When he started cooking at home, it was interesting to see an electric stove. Not the commercial stoves he cooked on in the restaurants. He always had burners going.
Miss ya Jack. Been awhile. But you make my palate smile. Your the man
