I loved this guy! When I found out he passed I was crushed. And Lakisha doing the camera work so lovingly captured his brilliance. Her love for Daddy Jack resounds in her sweet voice!
I have rewatched about a dozen of his videos since learning of his passing. I am honestly going to miss seeing new uploads from him. A great teacher, and a great people person. RIP Daddy Jack. Now im going to be cookin with the blues!!!
WE have lost a national treasure. Daddy Jack was a national treasure. He could make outstanding meals out of simple ingredients and nothing went to waste.
Rip to this guy... everyone loves a great chef; they bring people together. Daddy Jack brought people from all around the world together through this channel.
Dad Jack turning on his hood vent.. Makes me feel like he wanted it like he had in his kitchen.. Something about watching him, his cooks, that fan always running in the background from his shop. Man I miss him. Thank you, girls, for still supporting his channel. PEACE
I miss Daddy Jacks videos so much. I don’t know why but I loved watching him cut up vegetables. Man hand a heart of gold. He was a great chef. I wish I could have ate at his restaurant.
Daddy Jack, I started watching your vids right before you passed. You might say "cooking with the blues" but I say you were "cooking with love". Thank you for the inspiration!
Aww man. I am sad to hear he passed. I really enjoyed his cooking and videos, he got me confident enough to start cooking for myself. RIP Jack, thank you for keeping me full.
“Which is this here sauce”, I heard him say it! It’s a beautiful thing. I recently lost my best friend “Darryl Henry”, a great cook, him and I busted it out for 20 years. A great mans man. Now with Daddy Jack gone I can only say thank God he’s still on video. Lakisha if you need anything you know what to do. Thanks for sharing this, see you next time.
Man watching you cooking in the kitchen makes me miss cooking time with my mom. Thanks for sharing I swear I could smell the love from the kitchen my friend.
Every weeend i watch a vid over and over it's comforting. We LOVE YOU DADDY and will continue to live through you with fine cooing and with lots of luv. God Bless you and your family see you on the other side of the table one day my friend you are a clas act.
I love rosemary with oven potatoes. I usually use fresh green and put it on the potatoes after the browning is done. The bright green looks really good on them. NO KETCHUP on this beautiful food!
RIP Big man! Loooove your talent, your style, just love it!! One thing I have noticed is that chefs and cooks add FAR more seasoning than I would consider!! Something to learn for me!
A blast from the very recent past. I meant to make it to New London to visit Daddy Jack, but now that will never happen. I never knew him personally but I feel like I did from watching his videos. Smellavision!!! I miss the man. I had my second Open heart surgery in seven years in June and I feel fortunate to still be here but it takes its toll. My best to his daughters and the family.
All of your videos are not only amazing tutorials but a wonderful viewing experience. I'm happy that I stumbled upon these videos and I want you to know that I come back anytime I make one of these dishes that Jack masterfully whips up. Sorry I never got up there to meet him. All the best and RIP to the legend Jack Chaplin.
I discovered the art of pan frying my steaks about 4 years ago during a bad winter snow. Wanted steak but the grill on the patio was buried in snow. Tossed two sirloins in my cast iron pan with a little Montreal seasoning and a little butter. Slow cooked them!! Then I put onions and cut mushrooms in the pan after. Simply heaven. Love your videos sir!
Jack, love this technique for fries - seems like everyone else wants to over-complicate fries (soak, halfway cook, chill and cook some more etc)...takes way too long. But yours is simple, easy and looks real good. Thanks
