was impressed by the condition of your Vergueiro and reached out to HLC. They offered hand select option and ordered it. Unfortunately, mine is rusty under the wood top and bottom, heavily oiled stock with two cracks repaired by butt plate and behind front stock nose cap. nothing matched and barrel band needed to be hammered off but, bolt was in good shape and there were lands and grooves. hope its a good shooter

You did good for that place. Usually the packing material is worth more than the crap they send. Consider yourself lucky. I bet your viewers who order from them will not experience the same luck.

Wow you did good on that Portuguese Mauser. I may have to roll the dice on this place some day, but I loathe woodwork. I enjoy about any part fixing/metal repair/rust removal but stock work sucks.

I tried for months to contact them in regards to the hanyangs and bolts for the 88s, a russian sounding lady kept answering saying the guy to speak to in regards to orders was out.... So i lokked up their better business bureau reviews and said no way..... I got what i needed elsewhere. These guys have a very bad reputation.

They told me they had any part I needed when I ordered, when I finally got the rifle I contacted them about procuring the missing pieces and they told me they didn't have them. Sorely disappointed with that

Hunters lodge sent me a piece of shit after waiting 9 months for my 303 which I paid extra for to get a nice one. No such luck. Ever wonder why they only want checks for payment? They cash your check and leave you hanging.

@@Thehobbyist.2023 do your homework. There are 7 pages of hunter lodge complaints, just Google hunter lodge, ethridge Tennessee. They have been duping suckers for years, and those pages go chapter and verse into how hunters lodge screws people over. Out of dozens of complaints you'll find a favorable review here and there, bit ordering from them is a gamble. BBB rates them an F- ...and I got burned once, never again. It's your money, I guess...have at it.
