Milsurp Order from HUNTERS LODGE CORP | Giving Them A Chance | My Most Risky Rifle Purchase of 2021

- I did it, I sent a milsurp order to the infamous Hunters Lodge Corp. For years I've heard "never order from Hunters Lodge" and I totally understand why by reading their BBB and Google reviews. With that said I still decided to give them a chance. The prices are just too intriguing to resist. Most everything they offer is listed below market value. Is it worth the risk though? I guess we'll find out. At the very least I'd like to receive the pair of Spanish Mausers.
Thanks for Watching!

Milsurp Order from HUNTERS LODGE CORP | Giving Them A Chance | My Most Risky Rifle Purchase of 2021
Have ordered from Hunter’s Lodge on several occasions the last several years. The product is normally a 90/10 ratio with 90 being good. The shipping time is just slower that smoke off of a turd. I normally deal “James” when ordering. He’s made me some phenomenal deals on some products never offered in their catalog sheets. Shipping charges are ridiculous. And Gail, the belligerent woman that normally answers the phone when calling is bat crazy and has no business running the telephone lines. James has promised me for 2 years they would soon start accepting credit cards as firm of payment but I don’t see that ever happening as he says the owners are “very elderly and old school folk”. James has also offered us to come shop their warehouse in person on several occasions over the phone, but never follows up. I hope you got your product in a timely manner, and am looking forward to your follow up video!
I received the tracking number today. Hoping to have an unboxing video up this Wednesday.
@@ReadinessReviewswhoa a tracking number? I ordered a steyr hahn M1912 from them and received it in about a month but nobody said anything about when it was shipped or if it would be delivered. Just showed up one day. Although very pleased with what I received.
I have seen their ads for over 20 years. They have a BBB rating of F. Good luck
Yeah it's pretty scary. Thanks!
Brutal and correct. I purchased a Spanish M-1943 Mauser last September, did not receive her until December. Stay on top of your order. Cheap prices, mostly beater C&R stuff, that is ok.
I'll start calling in a couple of weeks.
@@ReadinessReviews you start calling yet?
@@terralore720 yeah I've spoken to them a couple of time so far. Calling again tomorrow.
Man I've been hearing about these guys for years. Me and my dad have talked about taking the chance on ordering something from them, but neither of us were ever brave enough to take the chance and place an order lol. I wish you the best man and cant wait to hear how it goes.
Thanks! I'm hoping for the best.
About 12 years ago I ordered 2 No 5 Enfields from them. I don't remember if shipping was slow but I do remember that they weren't No 5's. They had taken No 4 Mk1's and shortened the stock and barrel and then installed the flash hider. I guess I got my money's worth because they weren't that expensive.
There have been tons of those made over they years. Probably still well worth what you paid.
I enjoy this kind of experiment, looking forward to finding out when and what you get!
Hopefully it doesn't take too long and I actually receive something lol.
@@ReadinessReviews yes and hopefully before Christmas 😂
Lol B@lls of steel right here. I want to hear every part of this one from now to the end. Hope it ends up being boring, but I have this feeling we're gonna be in for a ride.
I hope it's boring too lol. But if it's not you'll hear about it!
@@ReadinessReviews i've heard it takes months for the gun to be received, but if yours actually ends up arriving i'll more than likely be buying one of their g88s.
@@ReadinessReviews you got any updates from them, yet?
I've never heard of this place. You said they were in TN I looked them up. Turns out they are the next county to me. Planning on heading there this weekend to scout it out.
Please let me know how it goes and what you see in there like if anything shady and they actually have surplus rifles
@@mrsurplusbangbang1857 Well I just called them to verify location. Their site only has a PO Box and their address in Google is a field. The voicemail says nothing and mentions input a code. I tried again and got an answer. A female with a very heavy Asian accent told me no physical store at this time and mail in only. Too many red flags for me and I've bought from RTI.
@@Gregiorp wow
Yes I’d like to know as well! May be taking a roadtrip out in that direction soon
Dang that sucks they don't have in person shopping currently.
Probably my favorite video of the last couple months. Very interesting... look forward to the follow up
Haha. Thanks!
Just about 3 years ago maybe three Hunter's Lodge had all kinds of surplus rifles I was very hesitant on ordering from them because I heard a lot of people say they're scam. I mean they had Mexican Mausers for like $300 Enfields u name it
Yeah I went back through some of those old ads and the stuff they supposedly had was very impressive.
I recently bought an M1916 Spanish Mauser from Hunters Lodge. I called after a month and when I finally talked to them, I was told they had my order but I did not include shipping and they would ship immediately once I sent them $36.00, which I did. 2 weeks later it was delivered via US Postal Service. The actual shipping cost to them was $26.00. The USPS delivered it and left it at my front door, (I have a C&R lic.) no signature required. (Hmmm...). I had requested and select a cleaning rod and a sling. The engraved range numbers on the rear sight had mostly been worn away, the rifle AND the sling were both thoroughly saturated with Cosmoline and the safety was stuck in the "fire" position. All those guns are beat up and worn, but I can't really complain too much. I think it'll clean up. Royal Tiger is also known for BBB complaints. All in all, I give Hunters Lodge a 6.5 out of 10.
6.5 sounds about right. Maybe a 6 lol. They also made a some money off my shipping too.
I wonder how I’ve never heard of them. I’ve heard of lots of bad companies but I guess since they’re so stuck in the 70’s I haven’t heard of them
They don't have much of an online presence and people don't exactly promote them.
I see there ad in Firearms News from time to time. Glad i saw this video, its a real heads up on them. THX Readiness !!
I've been seeing the ads for years too. I just had to take a chance.
This makes the one month wait on my yugo m48 from rti sound pretty fast
Yeah I totally expect to wait 3-6 months.
In 1998 I bought two K98 take off barrels from them for $5 each. In 2012 I threw both barrels in to a south Florida pond.
At this point I just hope they send the stuff I ordered.
@@ReadinessReviews I hear ya. Yknow I was looking at the listing on their website and the prices aren’t insanely good - they’re ok. It just seems they have items that were imported over 20 years ago. I’m tempted to do what you’re doing as a gamble. I’ll stay tuned here while I think about it
Good luck - I was unwilling to order from them - I am waiting to see your results
Thanks! I'm hoping for the best.
Everyone has got to order from Hunter's Lodge once!
I'd like to make it more than once if it turns out well. I'm not expecting much though lol.
Good job thanks for the this project
This should be interesting. Best of luck!
Thanks!
The last gun show I went to wanted 800 for a pistol academy had the same gun for 500 I will never go back
Ready you know this is the first time i have seen this video. I did see the part 2 video. Your right it takes for ever to ship... and there is a tracking # that you may or may not ever get. The rifle's i have gotten from them are great rusty but great. I am still waiting for my $98 1943 Spanish Mauser and some other parts i ordered. OK see you again.
I gave you a like for ordering from them and making this video. and i never like or subscribe lol. Thats good to get the word out either way if theyre good or bad. I respect that. and it makes for an interesting video. I just ordered from royal tiger imports! my fingers are crossed. I will say a prayer before i unbox them haha
Good luck with the RTI order. I've ordered several times from them. Both good and not so good experiences. I have an order that I've been waiting to ship for a month now.
@@ReadinessReviews really it shouldnt be much longer i hope. what did you order this time lol? I feel like if you dont get any hand select options or anything special it ships faster. but i could be mistaken
@@danm7298 it was a 1886 Lebel this time. Still hasn't shipped.
If I had your money, I wouldn't worry about ordering with Hunters Lodge. Good luck sir.
I ordered a no4 mk1 and it took a few months to get to me and was basically a barreled action, bolt minus a bolt head and a stock set held together by electrical tape. After I sourced all the parts needed and got it complete it was a decent gun with a good bore and I am in it for slightly less than market. It’s a dice roll and I guess I did well. May order a 1943 battle rifle from them we’ll see.
This is like a nightmare gunbroker seller made a dedicated company to sell their trash, how is this real lol.
I'm incredibly curious about this!
Yes same! I'm as curious like he is bc of the tempting prices
I'm equally curious but now I have skin in the game too lol.
I received what I ordered in a little over 30 days, I emailed them to get the shipping cost, sent them an order with my address and my ffl address with what I wanted with a postal money orders, they do not require my ffl signature in ink. my ffl called them, no ffl will do that. all in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and will buy again. PS Once they have a copy of your FFL they keep it and the next time you order all you have to do is give your FFL shipping address, remind them they already have a copy on file.
I really want to get one of the 30-06 Mauser rifles that they have
I'm thinking about trying another order from them myself. Need to through the holiday spending first
I took the plunge and ordered a 1916 "Oviedo" and an Artillery Carcano in early Aug, it is now almost Oct.... no word or replies yet. Voicemail is always full lol.... I basically wrote the money off when I sent it as this purchase is more an experiment than anything.
Sounds about right. I haven't really had anyone tell me they never received their order so I'm sure you'll get something eventually. I'd count on it being another month or two though. Just keep trying to call
@ReadinessReviews Will do! BTW, I totally get your "addiction" with rolling the dice, I've been enjoying your videos for the last little bit especially the RTI ones as I've been going the same route.
Latest was what turned out to be a numbers matching (trigger housing plate, bolt, barrel. Can't see number on stock at all. Serial is pretty low, 7524) 1886 Lebel B grade. Everytime one of their guns shows up I say "THIS is the dirtiest gun I've ever seen!"
Failed the bullet/ muzzle test so I'm expecting keyholing/ terrible accuracy. No cracks in stock, complete hardware, heavily pitted but as usual, cleaned up way better than initially expected. For $699 I can't really complain and now a hole is filled.
There's just something about the risk taking that's fun as hell 🤣
It makes collecting fun again
Absolutely terrible company!!! The way they treat their customers is atrocious!!! I can't understand how they have stayed in business. To say that it is because they are stuck in the 1970s is no excuse. I'm old enough that I started ordering stuff from paper catalogs where I had to hand write my orders and then send a money order or check and wait for it to clear before my products were sent to me. Other than Hunters Lodge, I never had such terrible service with people lying about what they were selling and then lying to you (when you actually got them on the phone) about when you would receive your order. I think the reason that they still have stuff is because so few people will do business with them! Absolute SCUM of the earth!!!!
You aren't alone. Tons of people have had similar experiences.
Great topic for a video!
Thanks! I was hesitant to do a video until the whole thing was over but people seem to enjoy this one.
Can’t wait to see what happens
You and me both!
Wait, if you send your C&R to them, how do you get it back? Do you mean a copy of it with signature?
I called Hunter's Lodge to see if they had a fore end for a Enfield No. 4 Mk I. Gentleman said yes. Price was $89.95 plus $10.00 shipping. I sent a money order for $99.95 on August 30th. Then and only then I found all the bad reviews and comments. I am afraid I have given $100.00 to a thief. There is just too much negative information on the internet about them. The expression "Where there is smoke, there is fire ." comes to mind. I have been stung before, but that was when I was 8 years old. If they sting me on this order I will post notices of this Company in every public media I can find. I will make it my mission to inform people of them.
I wouldn't blame you. If my order doesn't go well. I too will let it be known loud and clear.
Good for you I would to I deal alot on guns and parts and most guys even strangers get along well when dealing on firearms like common interest no room for that kind of company
As soon as I saw the title I knew what the content was going to be... Years ago I decided I wanted to purchase from them. As `soon as I saw how stuck in the 1970s they were I told them "thanks, but no thanks". It's amazing that these bozos are still in business all these years later...
It's amazing they operate like that in 2021
Okay, now I need to see what happened with this order because this video was two years ago. Totally intrigued! I’ve never heard of such a non user friendly way to do business. Must be run by a gaggle of geriatrics.
The hunter lodge...man your brave
Big dice roll this time lol
If you looking for commission rifle parts, there is a guy on eBay selling complete stock sets right now. I just got one in the mail from him and it was excellent
Thanks for the heads up!
@Gunnut357mag
You are still alive! Loved your reloading vids when they were up. Too bad about the change in rules
This is awesome
I just hope they send me the order lol
That looks like a zoho invoice.
It could be lol. I just used the first thing I found on Google.
Hey Friends, I ordered 2 rifles and some accoutrements back in March 2021 (due to the nice prices and an article about an Enfield in Guns magazine), still have not received my order, I called in June and the lady said it was in warehouse to ship in 2 weeks (clearly has not). I have gotten spotty replies to my emails without actual answers. So hopefully your luck is better than mine!
I've heard many stories like that but none so recent. If you get any updates let me know.
@@ReadinessReviews So my order arrived today, oddly enough. 3/4 was the date my check cashed, 11/15 delivery. The condition of the rifles is better than I expected, so besides the wait time I am happy with the purchases.
Entertain yourself and give them a call.
I'll give them a couple of weeks first.
I got a VZ52 for 89.95, missing handguards, and a nice Egyptian Rashid.
You probably did really well on both.
How much was the rasheed ?
Let me know if the 1888 hanyangs come with bolts....i need 2 of em as the actions i got from century had none.
Hopefully they do.
Subscribed! I need to know the end of this story.
Welcome to the party lol.
Man you must be a glutton for punishment lol hopefully it pans out in the end.
I sure hope so. I'm pretty scared about this one lol.
How would you have your ffl
Send them a copy of the license? I want to give itva shot but i dont have a c&r ?
I suppose you'd have to contact your FFL and talk to them about it. It will call come down to if they will work with you or not.
Hello, RR !! Sorry, I am behind, as you know. This set of stories, are, concerning. I admit. What part of Tennessee, are we talking about? I can look it up, never mind, LOL. I wish you, the best of luck, Amigo!!! Peace, John.
They are in Ethridge. Amish country I think. Thanks for giving it a look buddy. Hope y'all are doing better!
Never heard anything good about that company
I dae that latest video. ITS TRUE.
The rumors of them being very slow are true for sure.
I wish he would have posted this after he received (or didn't recieve) his order. Sort of leaves folks hanging.
I'll be doing an update
ive never heard anything but bad however they still in business maybe it will turn out good for you rti seems as bad from what ive seen
I think they have RTI beat. We will see though lol.
how do they stay in business?
Not quite sure but they have been in business forever so I guess something is working lol.
@@ReadinessReviews id imagine, dealing with them in store must be a more pleasant experience, imagine if they opened a GB page at the least
I posted a long comment on your follow up video (I saw it first) about my experience with this company. I don't know yet how to copy/paste comment and post it here, so please check.out my comment there for the whole story.
Thanks
Done. Thanks for sharing!
Can’t be worse than RTI
Sadly I think they actually may be.
Worst company to deal with ever !
So I've heard.
bartenders? What happened?
What? I don't follow
