They really emphasized how in pain and just sad Chaotic Gore Magala's whole existence is. That Blood Orange Bishaten wasn't even gonna fight him for how weak he initially came across as. Competition for the Magala species is harsh given how a Shagaru Magala's maturation means every Gore Magala in its territory will end up becoming this awful Variant when they try to moult.
My analysis of the cutscene is that blood orange was originally gonna fight it, but once it saw chaotic drop dead, it considered it dead and moved on, because we already saw in the original blood orange cutscene that they don't like being bugged, so it leaving it for any reason besides it's dead would be out of character.

Generally the monsters are designed as animals which I love, but the armour, music and how the hunters describe them create this awesome theme each monster has. Gore and shagaru have the whole heaven and hell theme going on and the Ying yang thing, and the weapons are all strange and have this unique theme, I can’t even describe it it’s just something I feel I guess but it’s awesome. Teostra and lunastra have the whole space thing and it ties into astrology and all that. I love the mythology that surrounds these creatures and how they are almost heralded in the mythos of the monster Hunter civilisations much liek how we herald the meaning of the snake as cunning and evil or the eagle as prideful and powerful. I love how the monster Hunter team has given this same mythological symbolism and imagery to these monsters outside of just their ecology but within how the people see them and vilify them too, or see them as good luck in certain cases.

The fact there is a sad violin playing just makes you really feel for this guy. It's kinda weird how even though us killing it would end the pain it's in, it still chooses to fight back against us. Perhaps the pain and irritation chaotic gore is in is overriding the logical part of its brain that would otherwise tell it *"let these tall two-legged creatures end my suffering"* and is just replacing that thought with *"KILL EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING"*
It's fighting back due to the agony causing them to attack anything in sight, plus survival instinct preventing them from just letting us kill them. They seek death, but can't do so willingly
Think of it like this: the agony Magala is in is so intense and horrific that being subject to it constantly has driven it to pure insanity. Everything it's doing is based on pure instinct, but it's only driven by agonizing madness. Chaotic Magala is a truly sad creature.
A creature in pain is not to be underestimated. It's suffering from the failed molting attempt, yes, but it will bring destruction in it's path, as the unimaginable misery drives it mad. Let us put it down, for it's sake, and our own.
Imagine if, instead of his normal theme, they played this music instead. Idk about you, but it really would make me feel like I'm putting down a wounded animal that's too far gone
"Name: Chaotic Gore Magala (渾沌に呻くゴア・マガラ) Average Length: 1794.7cm Average Height: 618.5cm Foot Measurements: 136.1cm (Front Feet)/ 240.9cm (Wingarms) Order: Elder Dragon Suborder: Revolving Dragon Family: Magala" "An abomination that many researchers say shouldn't exist, Chaotic Gore Magala is a variant of Gore Magala that failed to molt properly into a Shagaru Magala. This Gore Magala has many of the same adaptations as the normal one, but there are a few differences between the two." ""It's first come, first serve" when it comes to the Magala species. When they reach a certain age, they'll head back to their original home to molt into a Shagaru Magala, but only a handful of them (Normally, just a single individual) will reach adulthood." "While some of them become adults, the other individuals will suffer a different fate. Shagaru Magala uses a substance to spread the Frenzy Virus rather than hair-like scales, and this substance has special properties within it that prevent other Gore Magala from molting properly." "Any Gore Magala that tries to molt within a Shagaru Magala's infectious mist will only do so halfway, creating a Chaotic Gore Magala. These individuals are forever stuck as juveniles, and likely won't live for very long as well." "However, younger Gore Magala that aren't yet mature, or close to molting, don't seem to be affected by the properties found within the Shagaru Magala's virus and could still potentially reach adulthood as long as a Shagaru Magala isn't in the area when they have further grown." "From failing to molt properly, Chaotic Gore Magala shares some features with Shagaru Magala. In the case of one individual that was found, half of its face and some scales on one of its wings partially resemble a Shagaru Magala." "Although a Gore Magala has yet to develop eyes, Chaotic Gore Magala seemingly has developed one eye that'll eerily glow red when it enters its Frenzy State. It's currently unknown to researchers if Chaotic Gore Magala can even see anything with that eye." "The Shagaru Magala side of its body is noticeably stronger than its normal side (This is better shown in MH4U), and its virus-based attacks are wilder and stronger than a normal Gore Magala's. It also uses its wingarms more often, even when not in its Frenzy State." "Understandably, Chaotic Gore Magala's power is greater than a normal Gore Magala, but that abnormal strength granted by the Shagaru Magala half of its body is thought to be slowly killing it. It's believed that the rest of its body can't yet handle all of that extra power." "Since Chaotic Gore Magala is in such a traumatic state, it's been found that it's more aggressive than a normal Gore Magala. Likely due to it feeling more vulnerable, Chaotic Gore Magala is known to have erratic behavior, making it a dangerous monster for experienced hunters." " Sources 1. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate 2. If monsters could talk and when this thing dies it would thank us and would say how its “finally over” sorta like when we kill demon sculptor from sekiro
I would imagine something more akin to a scream like Artorias from Dark Souls when you kill him. It's a howl of pain, rage, relief, and sorrow all at once from a tortured soul finally free of being a prisoner in its own mind and body. So grateful that its misery can finally end, but wailing in fear as its life is over, and it must face the dark abyss it knows nothing about. Grateful, but terrified. Even in its dying moments, it knows no peace.
When I first fought this guy with randoms, they captured it and I was annoyed. xD Not only because randoms capture *everything*, but I wanted to save the Chaotic Gore from it’s pain.
Empathy aside. This poem seems to be based on the humiliation Demons feel when their cast out of heaven from being angels. I like the Christian overtones this game has as one.
Yes but humiliation is one of their consequences for their actions. Pluse, Chaotic Gore doesn't wholly(see what I did there?) represent fallen angels despite inspiration. It's still its own thing. So it not having a choice to be that way has nothing to do with it really.
I know this is the epitome of an edgelord monster but boy is it done right, and it fits perfectly ecology wise! Moulting is a gruelling process for many animals that moult such as hermit crabs, they are incredible vulnerable so it makes sense for shagrus strain of the frenzy virus to be able to penetrate the gores freshly moulted vulnerable skin and infect teh gore, creating genetic deformities and halting the moult, fucking up the gores physiological development and leading it to eventually die. And the fact it’s more aggressive would make sense too! As has become clear animals that are stressed or in pain are more aggressive. I believe there was an elephant in Africa that had a bullet in its tusk and went on to kill many humans? There are many examples of this but it makes sense taht the chaotic gore would be far more aggressive and volatile. It also explains why they are rare too as they likely won’t last many weeks after becoming stunted. Perhaps there frenzy attacks are stronger too due to them wielding the shagaru strain of the frenzy which has evolved to symbiotically use shagaru as a host instead of gore (perhaps its due to the liquid it secretes from its wings, acting like an agar jelly causing it tp incubate? Unlike gores hair like scales it sheds which incubate the weaker frenzy strain better?) as they are using the shagaru frenzy, not as a symbiotic relationship, but becuase the frenzy is eating it alive and it is trying to expel it, but is mostly failing as it has not developed the immune system taht shagru develops as it goes through elder dragon puberty. Chaotic gore is literally an edgy teenager who’s turned emo but ecology wise it all makes sense and is an awesome concept and visually too it’s quite cool! I only fought chaotic for my first time today and I found the fight underwhelming, it just felt like gore again and I managed to solo it my first time, as a relatively bad player using gear that I obtained from TU1 and TU2 (I’ve been going through in TU release order so it’s not like I was using primordial gear or anything) so it was a shame it was easy? And I’m not a great player either so it was a shame, I was hoping for a real challenge, but either way the lore is awesome and it is very nice to see it return looking crispy and HD in sunbreak!! So good job capcom but COME ON MAKE HARD FIGHTS AGAIN!!! I guess amatsu still awaits me!
its just putting the beast out of its misery at that point, due to its failed transformation Chaotic Gore's are also extremley volatile and release the frenzy virus everywhere which can affect entire ecosystems if it spreads to far.
The background music felt really familiar to me the first time around, after a bit of remembering I found "Who Will Know" from Shin Godzilla. Chaotic Gore Magala shares a lot of themes with the Godzilla in that movie, I think it's awesome that even the music communicates a similar vibe. I really recommend looking into Shin Godzilla if you enjoy the concept of CGM, both are so incredibly tragic.
I'm always traps the monsters so they don't suffer too much. But him.. if I trap him he will suffer again.. longer.. I can't let him live.. otherwise he will suffer again and again
Is sad to watch a great dragon fall for the power of the frenzy. I'm almost sure that afflicted monsters interrupt gore magala trasformation and now a dangerous creature live in the dark.
Actually, it was most likely another magala that did it, see when a gore magala becomes a shagaru magala, 2 things happen: 1. For a short time the virus carries it's parasitic offspring 2. The virus becomes more specialized in the sense that it is now able to infect other gore magalas as well as interrupt the molting process, making chaotic gore magalas, but sadly these don't last long because they'll eventually die from the virus.
@@zinogre_the_lord you have right. Shagaru when appears use the frenzy to infect other monsters for prevent other shagaru magala. Such a imteresting thing
@@Domyboltfg yeah and thats why you usually find Shagarus in High places. Their virus can spread further throw the winds and affect other gores. As we can also read their bodies are in constant confusion of its nature causing them to constantly change from their shagaru wingarm walk and gore magala walk.
Nope. It's not because of afflicted monsters, this is what competition between Magalas looks like. The moment one becomes Shagaru, his virus prevents other Gores from molting properly, ending up in this miserable state.
it's eye glows and the horn pop when enrages shag's eyes glow gore's horns pop. after it's biggest attack it writhes in pain, it cannot decide whether to have it's wings furled in like gore magala or unfurled like shagaru.

Even after every update since this one.. chaotic gore magala is still the best cutscene in all of monster hunter. it is art.
@@stygiandragon3865 dang that's just morbid
This is sad. In a horrifying way but still…pretty sad.
I like the continuing trend of narrating the intros from the monster's perspective
Me two it gives some more Charakter to them
My friend who played 4U and saw Gore like this and said "My old friend... What cruel fate has fallen upon you... "
"Name: Chaotic Gore Magala (渾沌に呻くゴア・マガラ)
Average Length: 1794.7cm
Average Height: 618.5cm
Foot Measurements: 136.1cm (Front Feet)/ 240.9cm (Wingarms)
Order: Elder Dragon
Suborder: Revolving Dragon
Family: Magala"
"An abomination that many researchers say shouldn't exist, Chaotic Gore Magala is a variant of Gore Magala that failed to molt properly into a Shagaru Magala. This Gore Magala has many of the same adaptations as the normal one, but there are a few differences between the two."
""It's first come, first serve" when it comes to the Magala species. When they reach a certain age, they'll head back to their original home to molt into a Shagaru Magala, but only a handful of them (Normally, just a single individual) will reach adulthood."
"While some of them become adults, the other individuals will suffer a different fate. Shagaru Magala uses a substance to spread the Frenzy Virus rather than hair-like scales, and this substance has special properties within it that prevent other Gore Magala from molting properly."
"Any Gore Magala that tries to molt within a Shagaru Magala's infectious mist will only do so halfway, creating a Chaotic Gore Magala. These individuals are forever stuck as juveniles, and likely won't live for very long as well."
"However, younger Gore Magala that aren't yet mature, or close to molting, don't seem to be affected by the properties found within the Shagaru Magala's virus and could still potentially reach adulthood as long as a Shagaru Magala isn't in the area when they have further grown."
"From failing to molt properly, Chaotic Gore Magala shares some features with Shagaru Magala. In the case of one individual that was found, half of its face and some scales on one of its wings partially resemble a Shagaru Magala."
"Although a Gore Magala has yet to develop eyes, Chaotic Gore Magala seemingly has developed one eye that'll eerily glow red when it enters its Frenzy State. It's currently unknown to researchers if Chaotic Gore Magala can even see anything with that eye."
"The Shagaru Magala side of its body is noticeably stronger than its normal side (This is better shown in MH4U), and its virus-based attacks are wilder and stronger than a normal Gore Magala's. It also uses its wingarms more often, even when not in its Frenzy State."
"Understandably, Chaotic Gore Magala's power is greater than a normal Gore Magala, but that abnormal strength granted by the Shagaru Magala half of its body is thought to be slowly killing it. It's believed that the rest of its body can't yet handle all of that extra power."
"Since Chaotic Gore Magala is in such a traumatic state, it's been found that it's more aggressive than a normal Gore Magala. Likely due to it feeling more vulnerable, Chaotic Gore Magala is known to have erratic behavior, making it a dangerous monster for experienced hunters."

Ngl chaotic almost made me ahead a tear, at least I get to put it out of its misery by giving it more pain
I love how Bob was fully prepared to fight a gore Magala even though he knows he would probably not win
The song fit so well
If monsters could talk and when this thing dies it would thank us and would say how its “finally over” sorta like when we kill demon sculptor from sekiro

TRAGEDY ENJOYERS WHEN THE CREATURE IS FATED TO BE UNABLE TO FULFIL ITS PURPOSE
this is the first time a monster hunter game made me cry
When I first fought this guy with randoms, they captured it and I was annoyed. xD
Not only because randoms capture *everything*, but I wanted to save the Chaotic Gore from it’s pain.
These motherfuckers...
Chaotic gore magala: Time to sleep :) zzzz
Happend to me two 😑
Chaotic gore magala is really described as the fallen angel here isn't he. Meant for greatness but never reached it.
The beautiful melody that plays in this just really brings the tragedy of the situation together.
The butterfly that couldn't fly
Afflicted Chaotic Gore Magala: "Why are we still here? Just to suffer?"
“I looked to the heavens, for answers. All I received, was questions.”
in this case, we Hunters trying to kill it so we can end it's suffering
And then they afflicted him, why must you torture poor my lil chaos monstie so capcom?
This monster and cutscene narration speak to me so well, it's terrifying
This almost sounds like the sad tail of a dark souls character honestly it touched my heart
Whose tail? Like priscilla's? Yeah her tail is fluffy, I really love it.

sad but true
I knew chaotic had sad lore but geez this intro was depressing
Used to be my third favorite but Sunbreak has made it my favorite monster. The fight is phenomenal
Empathy aside. This poem seems to be based on the humiliation Demons feel when their cast out of heaven from being angels. I like the Christian overtones this game has as one.
They chose to be separated from God. Which is why they are no longer in heaven. They wanted that.

Imagine dying from a incomplete transformation and also being hunted
At that point the hunting should be a release
its just putting the beast out of its misery at that point, due to its failed transformation Chaotic Gore's are also extremley volatile and release the frenzy virus everywhere which can affect entire ecosystems if it spreads to far.
It is a favor that we must do for it. We are freeing it.
Never capture this monster, or you are the one should be hunted down.
@@kennethsatria6607 yeah the hunting in this case is both to stop its rampaging but also to ease its pain

"Why have I fallen ?" Goes so hard
Gore Magala lore is so fascinating yet so sad
Is sad to watch a great dragon fall for the power of the frenzy. I'm almost sure that afflicted monsters interrupt gore magala trasformation and now a dangerous creature live in the dark.
No actually, Shagaru Magala can make other Gore Magalas Chaotic.
Actually, it was most likely another magala that did it, see when a gore magala becomes a shagaru magala, 2 things happen:
1. For a short time the virus carries it's parasitic offspring
My poor guy just failed to becoming a elder dragon that’s so sad
Even Bob felt sorry for it.

me watching the intro: alright dude jesus
Even now I still feel the pain chaotic is feeling. God sunbreak is amazing in terms of cinematography
it's eye glows and the horn pop when enrages shag's eyes glow gore's horns pop. after it's biggest attack it writhes in pain, it cannot decide whether to have it's wings furled in like gore magala or unfurled like shagaru.
Gore and Shagaru are a classic take on the cycle of life and death.
Chaos Gore reminds us of how that same cycle is cold ,unwavering, and sometimes , unimaginably cruel.
It's title should've been Tainted Eclipse or something.
Gore Magala - Dark Eclipse
Shagaru Magala - Bright Eclipse
I know how you feel Chaotic Gore Magala.
I failed my final chance, when I should have succeeded. The pain and anger that I feel, make want to burn the entire world.

Why the fuck do I feel sympathy for gore magala
Poor thing is in constant, unending anguish through no fault of their own. Driven insane from the ceaseless pain it feels each and every moment it exists.
This is not a natural creature, it's a victim whose only release is death.
Grant it the mercy it so desperately needs.

I love this monster so much
Even the Bishaten realizes the pain
Chaotic Gore breaks my heart in pieces. Poor thing. The agony they are in...Monsters in this game arent evil. Theyre just surviving. But damn the suffering shagura inflicts onto their competition is horrific
the thing about chaotic gore in 4u is it never got it's own intro you just *found it* in g-rank it was really scary just suddenly this thing kinda sad knowing what caused it and what it is.
Keep in mind even if it's in pain if forced to fight for it's life it will fight with some unnatural movements and power. Also the music reminds me of souls series a bit.
This music gives me the same melancholic sorrow as gwyn's theme
the pain I feel....... still doesn't make you end me?
and now... I will show you how it feels.........
A mind that wants to die that wants it all to end it wants see the pearly gates or the flaming pits, but a body that refuses death and with fight to strive to its very last breath
