And the thing is all the attributes that the guy is talking about “bouncing pecks” “six pack abs,” are all distinctive to the MALE gaze not the female gaze. All of those attributes perpetuate that men should be “strong” and “tough” which is a direct line to the patriarchy. A lot of men can’t understand why many women like Harry Styles and Timothée Chalamet bc they don’t coincide with the male gaze but the female gaze. Men are literally out here blaming women for their problems when it’s their fault.

The female gaze is more focused on intimacy, emotional intelligence and safety. This is not to discredit any insecurities men face because that would be mean but it is not women forcing them to adhere to these standards

PLEASE don't talk to the "manifestation" girl. She's just going to talk in circles and use you for exposure. I totally get that, I just don't think the tiktoker did that song with the intention of dismiss women's issue. Like Kurt in the video said: "Yeah but me tho". Thats the part I think everyone got wrong.
The parody build a dude was made with the intention of bringing up male body positivity in a society that wants men to be strong and have a 6 pack.
With that put, you can interpret as a union between both binary genders to fight agains society, not to fight each other on who's the most sufferable. Thats how I view it.

It’s about the patriarchal expectation for men to be “strong” and “dominant.” It’s not what most women or even gay or bisexual men want, it’s about the male gaze but not in a sexual way. Just like how women pressure each other to look a certain way, men do that to each other too. Forced conformity. And because men have more power over society than women, the forced conformity that the patriarchy puts on both men and women is the strongest.

THIS. Making kids feel inadequate as well, because that's the audience on tik tok. Telling them if they JUST believe they can make a Tesla appear? Alot of impressionable kids are out there dealing with real struggles and have to overcome social, financial and REAL things on order to achieve goals. you dont wish on stars and get millions of dollars. You work hard and overcome things. Frankly the manifest phenomenon is toxic. Making people believe that if they arent rich and happy that its their fault. People deal with abuse, addiction and debt. Is their fault? Did they manifest that? And if they start "manifesting" a better life and it doesnt happen? That would mean that theyre the only one to blame. Not actually giving tools for people do better, just telling how your not thinking positively enough, working enough, etc. Not adressing the real socials issues that are the real cause for the avarege person doesn't make 20k a month.

For the manifestation update, in order to manifest what you want into your life (abundance, wealth, love, friendship, etc.) you do actually have to put in the work in order to attract those things into your life. Manifestation is speaking these things into existence as if they’re already yours in order to create the desired outcome. But it isn’t just speak something into existence and then you automatically get it, you actually have to align yourself with your manifestation and put in work and effort. As in you are what you attract.

being a small channel, I relate so hard to not getting credited, or even if I get credit, the comments will still claim the person re-making my video idea had the idea. It's so hard. The advice segment transition is GOLD LMAOO

that “manifesting” girl don’t seem genuine, to be honest. i feel like real manifesting is about forwarding your own attention to certain things in life and that leading to the outcome you want. not just, saying that you manifested money because you got paid for work.

imma be honest I don't. want to hear her come on the pod and talk abt manifesting. Something really doesn't sit right with me, implying that to be successful you need to tell urself that ur gunna be successful and suggesting that its a good way to do it-- especially when it just sounds like she worked hard and was lucky to have the opportunity to succeed. I think positive thinking is good but I don't love pushing it as this magical thing that will help anyone instead of actual advice

Kurtis, I love you, but I really do not want an episode about manifesting anything. I feel like it’s the same as shifting or ✨positive affirmations✨ not into it. Idk what other ppl want, but I’d prefer not having an episode dedicated to it.

that build a dude is definitely looking at it with the male gaze and not female
Gender variety aside, women tend to go for men who are like you, and toxic masculine men tend to want to be and look like wolverine
it all comes down to fear. Society puts men in a position of suppressing their feelings, and fear of being weak or feminine. So they fantasize about being big and muscled and strong and cool and emotionless and make media where women want that
and some women do and that's fine (maybe not the emotionless bc that obviously is a problem)
but yeah you can usually tell when a woman draws or creates a man and a man draws or creates a man
Women like men who are compassionate, kind, understanding, intune with their emotions, willing to learn, competent (ties into willing to learn, aka. men who aren't ok with doing absolutely shit all in a relationship)
And luckily times are changing and theres more guys like you, and guys learning how to be a better them.
And the tiktok doesn't bother me in the way that what he says can stand true, as in there are women who will do shit like men do, being shallow.
But when he co opts a song that is empowering for women, that is about a shared experience and problem within the woman/aligned community, and makes it about men
it's the same as saying, like you said, "well men feel this too" which is adding nothing to the conversation
    It's derailing
what he should have done is created his own song. And honestly I doubt he's about to stand up for fat men, hairy men, men of color, trans men, bald men, etc
He could have had something and he could have started a conversation on something that can affect men (mostly other men's uh, like rules? idk the word.) and really advocated for other men and educated people
    but nope. screw this guy.

basically manifesting is about intention, you put the intention into your actions therefore you are more likely to achieve it. It's basically about putting faith into yourself

it's simply a new age way of putting effort and believing in yourself.... I mean, if it has a positive effect on your mind go for it, but it's still weird to treat it like is something more than normal

It’s possible he learned about it from Frenemies, where I know Trisha has talked on there about manifesting things and it kind of seems like they basically just mean wishing things into existence.
I just remembered a quote I was told as a child. Wishing without work is like fishing without bait.

@@genericname8727 he has talked about it before. Like when some chick "manifested" a tesla her daddy probably bought her. If it's really just putting faith in yourself then we should say that instead of filling kids with false home that if they want something bad enough it will come to them.

i think what also makes the frenemies situation worse is their quite literally family. trisha is marrying into the family and has the balls the treat her future in laws like this?
