@@Volth for hypnosis to work, the person needs to be open to suggestion, which lots of kids are. I find it hard to believe that no one could pull the hands apart but hypnotised people can keep it up for a long time. But if they don’t want to be hypnotised, they won’t be. Hypnosis can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do. Strange you couldn’t find anything on it, maybe it wasn’t reported on in English language news?
@@apc2851 Yeah, I know a bit about hypnosis and fully know that it's not magic, it's more of a semi-conscious state, that's why I found that hard to believe and tried to find a source. Hypnosis is not magic, but I guess it can be stronger with kids since they're way more suggestible? Still, I would imagine that the "effects" would wear off by themselves after the TV had been turned off.

I REMEMBER THIS SHOW! IT TRAUMATIZED ME 😀 They had an episode where a babysitter takes acid and gets high off her ass while watching a baby and ends up putting the baby in the oven and the chicken in the cradle. As a young kid who didn’t fully understand the difference between truth and myth, didn’t see the end of the episode to confirm whether it was true or false (it’s false lol) and had an anxiety disorder, it scarred me. For years I would panic and sob when my mom would try to leave me with a babysitter and would never let the babysitter out of my sight in case they randomly decided to put my little brother in the oven.

The urban legend in my town was that our man made pond that people went to in the summer had a sort of like vacuum if you went to far out into the water and it would swallow you up and you would die. It was closed down for chemical pollution lmao
While a human made pond/lake definitely doesn't have a vacuum that sucks you in, some do have some dangers specific to them, including dangers when going too far in, but that's mainly for people who can't swim (well). Some of them go down very steeply after a der meters, easily causing people to accidentally step into water too deep for them, making them down. Additionally currents can also be a huge issue. I remember my grandpa explaining that to me when I was younger and misunderstanding it in a similar way to your urban legend

I watched the episode with the second urban legend when I was like 7. I got so scared because I was from Hamilton and knew the drive-in that was mentioned. I turned the TV off before I found out if it was true or not. Until this day, I have always wondered if that myth was true or not. Now as a 20 year old I can finally see how stupid the show was and now I don’t have to wonder anymore. Thank you Kurtis

As an Italian, I can confirm that the magician guy, Giucas Casella, is a really famous TV personality here in Italy. He was active on TV between the 80s and the 90s. He's currently a contestant in the Big Brother house at the age of 71, such an icon.

So no one is going to talk about how the *SURGEON* in the second story said that if that story actually happened, he would have just thrown out the guy's fingers. Like sir, you're a doctor. Shouldn't you want to preserve the fingers and try to fix that guy's hand?! Even if he isn't a real doctor, why would you just throw out the fingers!?! They could still be reattached. 💀☠
Idk if you just didn't understand what he meant by that or not, but he meant that he'd just dispose of them at soon as he saw them
The chances he'd see the guy whose hand the fingers belong to again, especially so soon are very low
There's only a small window of opportunity to reattach small limbs like fingers and toes, and the chances of getting the fingers back to the guy that lost them just aren't high enough to be possible
Like yeah, it could happen, but he most likely wouldn't even be thinking about it, he'd probably just see the fingers and go "aw damn well that sucks for that guy :(" but he'd just have to move on after that, like what's he gonna do? track the guy down somehow in only a few hours and be like "hey man here's your fingers, kept em cold for you"? lol
they're just actors so hearing their thoughts brings a sense of levity and realism after the intensity. I guess if they were being accosted by them I could understand having little sympathy, like karma and all that but idk, if you have them, may as well drop them off in ice at the nearest hospital. but like the person above me said, there's a very short time frame for these things and even then, it's not always possible; the break and condition matter a lot and I'd imagine this accident would create a lot of breaks and trauma to the area.
I could also see someone feeling bad but skirting the law to avoid being sued or a criminal record. or maybe he's just a dick? lol. unless in a situation like that, a lot of people have a hard time empathizing (or just don't care to give much thought to 'out there' scenarios like this tbf).
I'm fairly certain he's not an actual doctor and was just being casual with the audience, not realizing how it might sound

There was also a case of the 'guy faking his death by pushing a boat out to sea' in rhe UK, it was a case of insurance fraud I believe and he lied to his family for ages while holed up in the house next to his wife, who helped him

The one thing I love about kurtis town dwellers is that more than half of these comments are just celebrating how healthy Jacob looks. They loved the video too I'm sure but they are much more invested in knowing that jakey boy is better. It's just a wholesome thing

Simultaneously, they all realize that Craig tried to fake his own death; his wife included. Not one of them knew that was part of the story. Craig sits there shaking with his Miller Lite in hand. But instead of confessing, tears just stream down his face. As the friends remember his unforgettable body cast, and upturned boat, they *know* it can't be mumbo jumbo.

Dude I recently went through a gnarly major surgery for some cancer in my neck, and the whole thing has been so horrible, even though it wasn’t as threatening as Jacob’s, but I just gotta say that seeing him looking so healthy again made me tear up. I’m so proud and so happy for him and I love ya’ll so much, thanks for keeping me company and giving me comfort through such a shitty time. 💖
