I'm sure y'all don't read these, but just in case... babies actually aren't born with the startle reflex! You're not supposed to put them down with blankets or pillows or stuffies for a several several months for the same reason. We also got a breathable crib mattress but the first couple months - with all the awake and asleep and feeding - one of those bedside bassinets (we got a Halo the swiveled and everything) was an absolute lifesaver
last weekend i met my friend’s grandpa who goes by “Tarzan” to his grandkids bc he didn’t want to be gramps 💀 he’s so silly tho it fits, and kids will just accept it lmao
Omg, I used to tell my 4yr old niece to go pee for me before we went places too! I did it as a joke at first but then it actually worked as a gamified way of getting her to pee when she really needed to. It’s crazy how that works.
I relate SO much to what Jarvis was saying about learning things in private to make it look like you were never bad at the thing! It’s taken me years and lots of unpacking in therapy but I’m finally where I can be bad at something in front of people and it’s not too big of a deal. We love growth!
I still struggle with this! The main reason I've never properly learned to play the guitar is because I hate that I don't sound good yet and it makes me flustered when I have to sit with a teacher and fail at something I did practice over and over at home... (not to mention being afraid to ever let my mother hear me play because of trauma of not being good enough lmao but that's another story).
I just hope the "You're dad wrong" in the first few seconds was an intended pun, and not me looking for puns in everything again 🙃 also having a new ep to listen to during an evening sketching session feels great
The gaming issue is also ADHD related. Looked it up recently because I like games, but my husband is so much better that is hard to have fun and not feel bad about myself. I also have bad hand eye coordination and am very bad at strategy and seeing ahead when I’m anxious. Which is funny because I’m good at pattern recognition, but not in that case.
when I first started gaming I thought I was bad too. extremely poor at shooting games etc. but you need to remember other people have essentially trained to get better at games and figure things out. You just need to let yourself find games you find fun and get better at them! Let yourself fail and make mistakes as well.
I'm great at pattern recognition too, so I love doing games like Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, because I notice what each person typically chooses!
they filmed the first 2 seasons of that survival show on the island i live on! it’s wild seeing them do intense survival stuff and then 3 hours away from that im making iced lattes at the mall
About the lottery, my brother bought a smaller $10 lottery ticket a few months ago and won $50 and then bought three more for $30 and then won $80, and it was just a loop that kept going for a little while. He ended up stopping bc he was like "I'm gonna just happily take this money before I lose it all or sum." But yeah, it's definitely possible to just keep making your money back and buying more tickets and still ending up in the positive lol.
It's possible for some period of time, but I think statistically it's impossible to do it indefinitely without eventually just losing and having to re-start with more money. Otherwise, more people would be doing that. I think the best way to play would be to join a large pool (like a big company pool) where everyone buys a few tickets and then splits the winnings- though even then, you'd want to do that with a smaller lottery, not like the Mega Millions, because even with like 100 people, your chances of winning anything significant are still miniscule. It'd be better to do it in something like a company raffle where there's a few thousand tickets - get like 50 coworkers to buy a ticket or 2 and then split the winnings (or maybe the actual winner gets significantly more, and everyone else makes a small profit).
@@matthewdekker6064 Not impossible, just VERY highly improbable. But also, to clarify, my brother kept ending up in the positive because he never used ALL the winnings on more lotto tickets. Like I said, he bought one and won $50, then spent $30 of that and won $80, and so on and so forth. He kept ending up with more money because he was smart about it and saved some each time in case he lost. But still, you're right that he likely wouldn't have gone on forever like that.

Being a more extroverted autistic person is a wild experience bc i love people and being around my friends but i struggle with specific social cues. and then sometimes i just have no idea what someone's going through and i just infodump about my favorite birds bc i liked their vibe and i either upset them or become friends very quickly
Hearing them talk about their experiences was sooo clearly ADHD to me. I know for s fact Jarvis and Jordan have it bc they've mentioned it but I'm not sure about Danny. They know they have ADHD but don't realize that those experiences they're having are such a token neurodivergent experience is kinda sad idk.(I'm not trying to invalidate your experiences as an autistic person btw I just meant that from experience I recognized it.)
Itchy feet can be a sign of an allergy to something else in the environment. You could even be allergic to a tree outside their house or a type of plant they have in their yard even though you didn't touch it. The pollen can still effect you.
the talk of struggling in social situations, scripting conversations and putting on an act of being who you wish you were but its draining, really reminds me of myself, learning that i am autistic and the process of unmasking
Omg my SO and I stayed in an airbnb that was literally student housing in Cleveland. Not campus owned but definitely student housing and not supposed to be used as an airbnb. We didn't have any other options because there was a citywide event going on and hotels were like $300+/night. So we stayed but it was weird AF.
I have generalised anxiety disorder and I constantly write out mental scripts for conversations, especially on the phone. I also analyse past conversations and think about what I should have done and said differently. I have always been shy but I love performing and I regularly make my co-workers laugh. People never understand how I love public speaking and suck so bad in small group or one on one situations.
Dudeee I resonate with this so much! I have generalized anxiety disorder too and I'm great at public speaking and I always do mental scripts as well for conversations. Socialising can be so exhausting though, especially before I learned how to handle my anxiety I "acted" or "performed" and it was very tiring. Still can be, but I'm not as hyper aware of what I'm doing or saying. I do though think back after social interactions and think "I should've said that and why did I do that" 🥲
That's literally also me as someone who social and generalized anxiety who loves talking to people and preforming. I want to be in social situations and interact with people so badly but I get intimidated and feel like i have to repeat my interactions over and over again to get there
Idk how but this podcast suddenly made it click why jarvis is my favorite youtuber. Hearing him talk about his perfectionism in a roundabout way made me realize he has like the exact same personality and way of thinking as me. It's true with his mental health and dating worries and even just general health issues too but hearing him describe how he used to practice things in private so he could show up with some proficiency made it click that he's just another version of me. How narcissistic of me lmao

About the breathable crib mattress! I'm thinking, if it's porous and breathable, it is probably hard to clean in case of spills and accidents, or otherwise humidity. So make sure to inspect for molding now and then!
i looked up the story of the police officer, if it is the one that i found his bail got raised from 750,000 to 2,000,000. so there's a chance they did win the lottery and that "family emergency" was them not being able to afford the house anymore.
oh if so, that makes the case even more interesting and hopefully there's some justice. i could only find a 2009 news article that reported the 250k bail and 2 million lottery money so i assume it's the same guy
@49:33 I would say against this point -- as a film professor -- that you actually DO spend hundreds of hours learning how to watch movies and TV. It's just that most people don't realize they're practicing a skill. It takes a long time for your brain to recognize what an edit in a TV show means, what a close-up is, what a time skip is, etc. It's just that we are all insanely skilled at this because of how much media we watch. Learning how to interpret a movie is a separate skill, but learning just the language of film and media is actually complex.
If you could watch a film that had entirely different rules of editing and time, it would be insanely confusing and take you out of interpretation mode too. (Sorry to reply to myself I'm just a media nerd)
I was recently in Amsterdam with family and, like Danny, we stayed in an apartment that wasn’t technically allowed to be an Airbnb, so we were told to say we were “doing a home exchange” if anyone asked, and also to not say anything else to anyone while we were there; we also weren’t supposed to write a public review for him. shoutout to him i guess

I thought what Jarvis said about not talking to adults as a kid was really interesting to me because as a kid I did the same thing to a more extreme degree and was diagnosed with selective mutism & went to therapy for a while. but that prompted me to learn hacks of how to Talk To People until im comfortable enough to actually interact instead of just silently observing ppl lol
Danny should play more storybased games instead of full first person shooters/fighting. Something like Detroit Become Human or even games like Until Dawn i feel like butterfly effect games with action elements would be a good place to get into action games. Or choose the cozy route like i did and play stardew valley and ooblets! :)
to add to what you said he could also maybe try lan games in fps because online multiplayer sucks so much even for experienced players , basement dwellers just get too good at it or people just end up hacking and ruining the game for everyone . ive been easing my dad into combat oriented games and we've just been doing lans where its the two of us against bots , its been working out pretty well so far and he's been getting pretty good at it too !
or even singleplayer action games at the lowest difficulty. of the little I've played of The Witcher 3, the lowest difficulty is so easy you can spam A in most fights and you're fine, so you can focus on the story while still feeling confident in your skills
I am cozy sim gamer by nature, but I love good story and games with ease settings from other genres. Recently played the new Ratchet and Clank with the ease setting that prevents death from combat, which helped me not cry from frustration 😅
Hearing them talk about masking and not knowing what they're talking about is kinda sad because they seem like they're so tired of it and i would love to see what itd be like for them to be able to unmask/relax and just be themselves
Jordan's one offs like "im going to give my kid menthols" often remind me of Graydon's from Hivemind. I would absolutely *love* to see Riley and Graydon (or Dignan depending on scheduling) on Sad Boyz.
I had to learn the High School Musical choreography because my school did the musical when I was 18, and I still fell and broke my arm during opening night.

I'm sure y'all don't read these, but just in case... babies actually aren't born with the startle reflex! You're not supposed to put them down with blankets or pillows or stuffies for a several several months for the same reason. We also got a breathable crib mattress but the first couple months - with all the awake and asleep and feeding - one of those bedside bassinets (we got a Halo the swiveled and everything) was an absolute lifesaver
so happy to see drew back!!!
“youhaveseenthisbefore”
can’t believe drew is going to be pregnant
I really appreciate that Danny is still so passionate about cable management
He's entering his dad phase! Gotta get that cable management right
last weekend i met my friend’s grandpa who goes by “Tarzan” to his grandkids bc he didn’t want to be gramps 💀 he’s so silly tho it fits, and kids will just accept it lmao
lmaooo sounds like a fun inside joke
@@josefinarivia that's adorable
That’s so cute😭
Omg, I used to tell my 4yr old niece to go pee for me before we went places too! I did it as a joke at first but then it actually worked as a gamified way of getting her to pee when she really needed to. It’s crazy how that works.
I wonder if its related to the fact that little kids think you can't see them if they cover their own eyes.
@@squidthing I can totally see that rationale going through a young toddler’s mind. Lol
My parents did that with me
Telling her to go pee *for you* sounds so off
@@KingOfGaymes I know right?
I relate SO much to what Jarvis was saying about learning things in private to make it look like you were never bad at the thing! It’s taken me years and lots of unpacking in therapy but I’m finally where I can be bad at something in front of people and it’s not too big of a deal. We love growth!
ngl knowing people do that(it had never occurred to me) actually makes me feel a LOT better that I'm not immediately good at things
Yeah I feel that too 😅
I still struggle with this!
Please, the unintentional Sonic the Hedgehog reference with "MARIA" is so funny
put a seatbelt on all the toilets in your house so when your kid uses the bathroom at school for the first time they'll be confused
can't EVER bring them to a public bathroom till then
I just hope the "You're dad wrong" in the first few seconds was an intended pun, and not me looking for puns in everything again 🙃 also having a new ep to listen to during an evening sketching session feels great
The gaming issue is also ADHD related. Looked it up recently because I like games, but my husband is so much better that is hard to have fun and not feel bad about myself. I also have bad hand eye coordination and am very bad at strategy and seeing ahead when I’m anxious. Which is funny because I’m good at pattern recognition, but not in that case.
what kind of games? bcuz if you just like games in general, you could play some single player games
when I first started gaming I thought I was bad too. extremely poor at shooting games etc. but you need to remember other people have essentially trained to get better at games and figure things out. You just need to let yourself find games you find fun and get better at them! Let yourself fail and make mistakes as well.
@@josefinarivia Yep, many people started young and I just wasn’t drawn to it. But it’s the letting yourself fail that I’m really bad at 😱😆
I'm great at pattern recognition too, so I love doing games like Apples to Apples and Cards Against Humanity, because I notice what each person typically chooses!
Respect to danny for sticking to the speedrunning bit in hindsight
Yeah that’s crazy
they filmed the first 2 seasons of that survival show on the island i live on! it’s wild seeing them do intense survival stuff and then 3 hours away from that im making iced lattes at the mall
I love Jorvas, Jardan and Janny!!!
jorvas, jordan, and jonny
sometimes i forget youtubers are real grown ass adults and can have a family 💀 congrats danny
But still, you're right that he likely wouldn't have gone on forever like that.
my mom won $125 and her friend won $500 in the week
Hearing Danny talk about the "Minecraft Speedrun" after watching his new video and not knowing anything about it UNTIL the video, it hits different lol. 47:15 for anyone who watched his vid and wants a shortcut to that part.
i love that everyone danny knows has his exact humor of bringing back jokes that were just said 💀 its so cute
I am not super into podcasts but this is the one podcast I will watch every day it is posted. Great guests and great conversations! Always has me laughing the entire time.
i like this one and kurtis'. theyre like long bonus videos
Cannot overstate how important it is to hear yall talk frankly about normal human things
I'm a medium new parent (I have a 2 year old), and get so excited when creators I love are starting that journey! I hope it goes wonderfully for you!
Itchy feet can be a sign of an allergy to something else in the environment. You could even be allergic to a tree outside their house or a type of plant they have in their yard even though you didn't touch it. The pollen can still effect you.
the talk of struggling in social situations, scripting conversations and putting on an act of being who you wish you were but its draining, really reminds me of myself, learning that i am autistic and the process of unmasking
i’ve been going through the same thing and it’s been a lot. wishing you all the best!
oh my gosh I felt so heard in that social anxiety talk, I literally thought it was just me. Thanks guys
He's actually a dad now! Congrats to him and Laura
I want to be in social situations and interact with people so badly but I get intimidated and feel like i have to repeat my interactions over and over again to get there
I didn't know they were at vidcon and at first thought they were wearing matching friendship bracelets.
How narcissistic of me lmao
as a nd person (audhd+bpd), i relate to everything u guys were saying toward the end abt social situations (esp abt the masking, scripting, n flat affect), n i appreciate how honest+open u guys were abt it ♡
This feels rude to say to a stranger but a lot of ASD is misdiagnosised as bpd especially as women (I don't know if you identify as that) the overlap between that and adhd is worth looking into ok sorry bye
@@sydneyharp1989 yeah ik lol i did extensive research for over a year before pursuing a diagnosis, n was diagnosed w both asd + bpd in the same evaluation /nm i feel all my diagnoses are accurate, so even tho ik its common for ppl afab to be misdiagnosed, i dont believe thats my case /gen ♡
The conversation about learning/strategizing how to talk and learning how to come out of your shell was really validating thank you
jordan i frickin love you dude. just really pog that youre here. keep it up 💪
ty ❤
“visiting Maria” shouldnt have made me laugh SO HARD
my dad, Daniel, graduated from Danny to Dan when I was born too!
Look I’m just stuck on Jordan’s line of “I’m gonna give your kids menthol cigarettes”
Im autistic n when danny mentioned the rehearsing conversations and the reviewing conversations after they happen to see what i missed, like dude thats so relatable-- both jarvis and danny actually like the things youre describing socially sound like autism to me (i have both autism and adhd)
Oh no the regular sad boyz background I’ve grown accustomed too has changed! There goes my attachment to this mortal coil
baby cpr! if you're having a baby take a first aid course!
Love the idea of avoiding consequences by triggering the landlord's flashback sequence!
"Visiting Maria" gives the person a flashback to that old ass "Baby Landlord" video with Will Ferrell and the little girl, lmao
"you should make a video about how we both strike it rich and win the lottery" i love this podcast w my whole heart
The screaming in the background after Danny says "The queen?" at 28:14 freaked me out lmao
Jordan is so smart and aesthetically pleasing ❤
SEAHORSE STYLE has me dying we need a shirt that has a seahorse with Danny's head
DANNY!!! Experts think SIDS might happen because some babies brains are not able to trigger if the baby isnt gettting enough air. SO, some babies cant just turn over if their brain wont wake them up. Scientist still don't know why SIDS happens, the fact that she found that mattress is awesome! high stress relief
Can't wait for the day Diggy Gorgonzola's son starts looking older than him
Danny's talking around Minecraft speed running is extra funny in light of the recent revelations
i just got on your patreon and was so confused seeing a video with danny and was like "oh was there an old video i didnt see?" just to realize you guys just uploaded this
I thought what Jarvis said about not talking to adults as a kid was really interesting to me because as a kid I did the same thing to a more extreme degree and was diagnosed with selective mutism & went to therapy for a while. but that prompted me to learn hacks of how to Talk To People until im comfortable enough to actually interact instead of just silently observing ppl lol
Jordan finally fixed his posture!
edit: nvm...
Hilarious
I remember exactly the news story that Danny just retold omggggg unlocked a memory
Danny sounds like he would enjoy turn based games a lot more than games that require real time actions.
lol looking back at Danny talking about his Minecraft speedruns pre-video is hilarious
52:35 is really giving gifted kid burn out, so relatable
25:35 Jordan knew about the wage gap for YEARS and NEVER did anything?!?!!!?
28:13 somebody let out the most ungodly scream after danny said "the queen" and honestly same
What was this
Jarvis hahaha I can't stop laughing you're not Danny Gonzalez thats the other fellow
Im so glad someone else noticed hahaha!
I would absolutely *love* to see Riley and Graydon (or Dignan depending on scheduling) on Sad Boyz.
omg yes!!
watching this after the minecraft speed run video came out is so funny
I had to learn the High School Musical choreography because my school did the musical when I was 18, and I still fell and broke my arm during opening night.
Omg, noo!! We learned All In This Together for middle school dance team.
I've followed Chinchillazilla for a long time and can promise the RuthKanda tweet is in jest. She was one of the great posters famous for the "chili neighbor" discourse who left twitter because people sent her incredibly violent videos involving pigs when shes a proud pig owner. S/O to Rufus!
i have no idea why the screenshot they used says it's by chinchillazilla but i'm pretty sure the actual original is by a completely different person
yeah i googled the phrase and found the original, i think the chinchillazilla tweet is just copypasta haha
glad to see this vid in my rec!
