It's too close.
I will
Journey is lit 🔥🔥
Awesome 🔥🔥👍

What I was expecting: Peter talking about a second channel that he forgot the password too
What we got: epic boat movie
Lol I also thought about that. No one saw this coming.
Same here pal
Beyond the trip and quality of the photos, this youtube video is an emblematic example of pristine cinematography and storytelling. A classic “journey” story documented brilliantly in a way that not many (or maybe nobody) could do better. Pete, you are amazing! Thank you for bringing us with you in this trip. That’s how a felt...
you said what I was thinking in a really elegant way!
I'm trying to improve my English, would you like to talk to me
A complete reflection of my own feelings that i could not have told better. The gift at the end was another. That shot printed on metal is insane, Thank you Peter for sharing your story.
Everyone wearing light beachy summer colors.
Pete: BLACK EVERYTHING 🖤

@@attiyt that's matte black everything
@@SimplyRobertSmith true, but similar
Ok... i retract my previous comment... proceed.
Guys there’s enough black for everyone to go around 🖤
This literally looks like a movie. What a beautiful thing it is to be able to get on a boat and explore. This video is really making me want to go out and explore more omg. Anyone have any ideas on how to feel adventurous in COVID world?
Emily Matthews I live on an island & went kayaking for the first time last month. The company sanitized everything including life vest & gave instructions. Such a blast ❤️ look for possibilities of outdoor adventures where you live & of course make sure whatever you rent is completely sanitized ~ have fun 😊
Same here... and if you have any woods around you, pull out the tent and set it up, even if its in your front yard!
Wear a mask. Have fun.
Totally!
@@freebird5064 Woah that's so cool! Where do you live? I'm happy you were able to go out and be adventurous and the company handled it well! I'll definitely look into something like that, I actually think there's paddle boarding near me :)
Watching Pete's vlogs looks like watching a multi million dollar movie
better than most documentaries on Netflix god dammitttt
They are so good it’s amazing
Hili Adventures totally agree 😀😀
Agreed.
Enjoyed every second of that. What a fantastic trip that was and what a great memory it'll live on to be...
wow so good to share

1. The biggest freshwater lake is Baykal, Russia.
2. After this film I want to make more films and less videos - thank you for the inspiration - the quality of script, editing, colours is just amazing.
lake Michigan-Huron is the largest by area. They're one continuous body. All most 4 times larger than Baikal.
While it's as gorgeous as any of his videos, this felt self indulgent, and I skipped my way through it because there wasn't intrigue or a purpose to the shots, just a chronological retelling of a trip he really enjoyed.
Keep your audience engaged!
@@geniej2378 he's been feeing extremely self indulgent for about a year now. I've not watched probably 3/4 of what he's put out since January. (there was a video in January where he was making his camera man chase after him in his truck in the kind of asshole big-brother move that grossed me out. Oh I should mention he did this AT canon's offices, where he was gettin exclusive preview of new gear coming out. So it was extra indulgent and gross. But, I guess at least he's stop begging Ford to give him a free truck or whatever, so here's to tiny victories.)
Needed that message right now. Thanks for the inspiration!

The bucket shot you never knew you wanted. :-)
Peter: Was this a film of was it a Mini Doc.

Man, Pete... I’m sure I speak for many when I say “You have inspired me.” Aside from the clichés that often get in the way, it simply comes down the fact that you are driven to share a journey, tell a story, define your craft, and example what it is to live your best life now. We recently started our channel after taking too long to finally jump in and could not say THANK YOU enough for cinemadocuvlogs like this..
And we fully agree man - enjoy the journey.
The inspiration from this video is unreal, thanks Peter
I can't believe Peter is about to reach 5 million subs, congrats man!

This is so cool. My grandpa has a boat like this and is going from Ontario lake to Fort Myers, Florida. This helps me to imagine his journey.💛
That is awesome. We wish him well on the journey. It is a beautiful trip.
This is amazing! I like everything about it, the quality of video the music, editing! I remember when Peter was vloging inside his apartment when he just hit 100k! And i am really happy he's come a long way 5M soon, do a 5m Friday❤️🙌🔥
I almost teared up watching this. Wow. It's something I've always wanted to do with a group of friends. Such an inspiration and this has rekindled my love for photography. This is what I've always thought photography was about. The memories the pictures bring. It's why most instagram pictures don't get my attention. Pictures like these have true meaning behind them. I can't stress enough how amazing this video was.

Peter -- this has to be the most incredible video I have seen!! Brings me back to a memory I have of a trip I had when a kid in the "Lake of The Woods" in Northern Minnesota! Only we were in a canoe not a fantastic boat like you were on. This was in 1960 and I was only 9 years old - your adventure and your images are incredible!
why does every film of yours make me cry a little...
maybe because you are sensible to filmmusic or you want a lot of money to do the same things :D
"The photos are just a representation of the moments that you really enjoyed, It's a bonus... and depending where you go it's a pretty damn good bonus".
That words stay in my head and now I just want to go to search thats amazing bonus!!!
There are vloggers, there are filmmakers, there are photographers... and then, there is Peter McKinnon! Love u man. Thanks for this art ❤
Peter: Who needs a Nav light
Strict boaters: (yelling at their screen watching this)
The railroad transfer is so cool! I never knew that exists.
Pete: we were here.... now we're here.... by a railroad... and we're on a boat. Mind blown.
Pete's films are on a different kind of level. You get excitement, laughter, kind of think silly things about what's happening in the video, BUT at the end, they always go deep. Something more meaningful than anyone expected. Damn. You're pushing me forward. Thank you for the inspiration, Pete!
Always a good day when Pete uploads!!

"And I say "I think", just in case someone out there whos' gonna go ahead and wiki that and be like..." - I don't really need to google it, it's lake Baikal in Siberia, mostly because of its insane depth.
DOES anyone know that sound effects at 0:11 when the name slides down
@@thefunnytech4612 sounds like the winding of a watch
Lmao
You should, Lake Superior is the largest lake in the world by surface area which is what he is talking about, its 31700 sq mi, Baikal falls 6th at 12248 sq mi. Depth yes you are correct Baikal is the deepest but he wasn't talking about that.
@@mladenvisuals well, at this point we're just arguing about the definition of "the largest body of freshwater". If you google it, search engine responds with Baikal as an answer, but I believe that's because most of the pages Google analyzed use this term in regard to the total volume of water the body contains.
Anyway, just a question of terms.
Question: When Peter looks away from the camera talking to someone at back, is anyone actually there?
Yup, it is his friend, Kirk!
Man love the edit on the vocal audio! It's sooo clean and smooth! You are the god of broll man, watch every video!

Loved this! You are a master craftsman! Just so beautiful! and by the way, congrats on hitting 5M subs!
Hey Peter, I was wondering: How many of your shots of your friends/ other people are shot as you saw them and how many are staged? Some look perfect! Sometimes someone is standing perfect for a shot but then the moment has passed when I got my camera ready. If you ever find yourself in this situation do you let it pass or ask them to redo their action for the shot. I'm really curious.
Interesting question I would love to know his answer 😀
I'm trying to improve my English, would you like to talk to me
wouldn't think that it's staged since they're not actors. If a moment gets captured it's great, if it passes by and it's something of importance, something interesting or of meaning but got missed, it's probably told afterwards again instead of acted out
that's what it seems like to me and how I'd do it personally as well, comes more natural in a full on a story like this one
Great stuff

At this point, no one even cares to talk about how outrageously sick the quality of production is on Pete's channel. Everybody's just chilling in the comments talking about life, and the journey, and enjoying it, and all that jazz. That's just how good Pete's become. Its absolutely nuts, the pinnacle of photography and cinematography you've touched Peter. You and Alen are the two human beings who inspired me to get myself a camera and explore editing images. I only hope and pray I get to see you in real life some day.
