Show women we can be filmmakers too? We are, and we have been since at LEAST 1911. Well over a century! Women such as Lois Weber, Alice Guy-Blaché, Germaine Dulac, Lotte Reiniger, and Mabel Normand were leaders in their respective fields, and they were supported by an industry filled with female screenwriters, and some hugely important female producers producing movies for a majority female audience. Lois Weber was one of the greatest film directors of the early 20th century - a heavyweight rival to D.W. Griffith and Cecil B. DeMille. As a woman who has been a filmmaker for almost 2 decades, I just feel that comments like that set us back (even if only in people's minds). I'm a female Production Manager of an extremely talented female-led video production crew. We're out there doing it -- and we don't even give it a second thought. It's what we're called to do, what we're passionate about -- and gender has nothing to do with it. I've actually found that women are the most powerful, driven, effective producers who really have that edge to make things happen. We're not underrepresented. At all. Just Google Female Producers in Hollywood. It's a brilliant list. (People like Emma Thomas, Charlize Theron, Kathleen Kennedy, Shonda Rhimes - to name a few). Keep making films and keep learning your craft because you're passionate about it, because you're driven, because you have a story to tell -- not because 'women can be filmmakers too.' Of course we can. There's no question about that at all. Keep up the great work. Beautiful footage!
Personally my favourite was ‘Password’ shame Peter did not place links to the three finalists YT channels! Looking forward to seeing the next challenge 😎👍🏻
I love that the winners here didn’t demonstrate the absolute most high end professional image/sound quality but rather focused on using what they had to tell a compelling story. I know it’s cliche saying gear doesn’t matter and your title hits it home, but it’s cool to see you backing that idea in the form of a contest. Love this Pete and congrats to the winners

And at the end of the day you may not need "extreme equipment", but you still need an equipment, locations, views, power to edit the footage, power to take the footage. It's ironic how stuck some people are - no chance to participate, no chance to change the fact. Filmmaking is money and most of the time you DO need equipment for your ideas. At the end of the day a good story is also really important but without the tools sometimes you can't tell the story you wish you could've told. The ideas are with your couple, make it about them, what draws them together. Why their joining is important to them. It is a film about them, make it! About the things their love about each other.
@@vry1199 Its about a Weeding! That dosent mean that he needs to do a cinema Movie with thousends of plots. The story should be about the couple and the hole day. A story within everything goes wrong isnt possible because the couple arent actress. When you film a weeding, make beautiful shots about the spot or the people. But the important thing is that the couple stays in focus. Its their day and they wanna have the same feeling when they watch there film again
I don't know how , but I was able to understand the winner's language without looking at the subtitles , it is that much good !! That's magic of cinematography....
Terrific film composition. Personally preferred Third Prize winner with the natural beauty and great landscape shots mixed with the young woman in those scenes. Well executed.
72hours woah! Writing my UA-cam video script sometimes take more than 72 hours to write and pull off. Congratulations to everyone who dared to compete, meet the deadline and eventually entered the competition. You all won by doing so. And thanks to Peter for being an inspiration for many creators.
Like for being part of the early gang what's up!
we here
The creativity of the second video is just wow. So simple yet so creative.
And I almost felt like I was watching a French movie 😄
You
screw up everything... pls check David Mota.
Where can i find him
I don't know how , but I was able to understand the winner's language without looking at the subtitles , it is that much good !!
That's magic of cinematography....
Every time I do a film challenge it is such a good learning experience it’s more about the process then the end result
Yo I love your vids tysm for eveything.
finally, i watch a video from your after uploading it directly, achievement unlocked!
And to everyone reading this...
don’t stop creating.
This time I'll be sure to submit on time! It was the second film I'd ever made so it took me a while to remember how to use Premiere... and I filmed it all on that Sunday, Father's day, so there's that! I'm really proud of it though! Peter, thanks for the kick in the pants to get me going. Congrats to all the winners and to all those that participated!
Having a good story makes it so easy to draw in an audience. I feel like I really struggle with having a good story for all of my videos. Watching these winners, it's a little more clear some of the things I need to improve to have a better story. This was great to watch!
It takes a lot to impress me. That keyboard one was hilarious LOVED it
Hey Peter,🙏
Could you please check out GAWX ART'S new video in which he paints with coffee??
You will surely love n appreciate his BROLL.
💪🖤
3rd place did NOT deserve any prize at all, my view.
It definitely makes sense that a 2 minute Tuesday is in a Friday.
Makes enough sense
I think Ill be dead by the time people on the internet spell "definitely" right 😂
@@johnkevin7992 hey, sorry, you alright?
Storytelling really is the most important thing
That movie, "Your password is incorrect" was so funny at the end though! Clearly the _Bestest._ imo ☕ 😂😂😂😂💋🇨🇦
is important but the instrucions was to create a short film not just a video
For me my submission is really a short film and you can check for your own in my youtube channel
I didn't win but at least I came out in minute 1:32 , thank you very much for watching Peter 😍😍

Joshua Kirubakaran
Third place goes to... this is B&H... skip
Alright, second place to... this is B&H... skip
And first place!!!!!! This is B&H
I thought that first place winner was talking about a lady 😬
That's absolutely insane
It was about "La Vie", which could be interpreted as a woman I suppose. "Vie" being a feminine word and all ^^ (:
@@mauritssmakman40 thank you
To be honest I didn't like the first one. I don't like the idea of thinking that "cinematic" just mean b-roll.
Wow, I'm impressed. Such beautiful work by all. Thank you for sharing
I'm watching this on a Tuesday so the 2 minute Tuesday intro is kinda relevant
well i didn't win but to everyone that did congrats
number three: wow!!! that was so beautiful. i liked it so much.
number two: what a HERO. are all Daniels good filmmakers? cause i know two: daniel schmid and daniel schmiffer.
number one: that was just sooooooooo good, all of it was just great.
I didnt think he saw every video, i uploaded my on my channel now. have a look, but u need to watch till the end to make sense
Curious. really? was being a woman really a barrier to film making? I thought it would always depend on the resulting product. ....
2nd one is way overrated does anyone agree?
Just received the pm x nomadic camera bag 💼 it is a beauty!!!!! 👍 🎥
The intro was amazing
Love the vids, earliest I've been wahoo
"should we do that?"
If we could hear the other person reply....
As you so those tiny minor details 🙃
Brilliant, Congratulations to all the winners . Well deserved..
It would be nicer if the video talked a bit more about the honourable mentions too and linked to all the shortfilms that were submitted.
