I've had mine since the day it was released, at first wasn't happy, but once you replace the arms or all plastics from the chasis out. It's a beast, especially for 350$! Glad to see others have it
I had wanted to get one of these for a while. Like you said it ticks all the right boxes. My experience even going into it with my eyes open, is kinda meh. The plastics are just too brittle. I tried it with the original arms just to see how they were, those were terrible, got rpm arms then the hubs broke which aren't in the pack. I got kaiju parts, then the Ackerman broke. It got too hot out here to run since I got the parts and repaired it, so I can't say if it's all fixed. I couldn't imagine having paid full price and going through this. For what I paid 299 I'm still annoyed but a little more tolerant.
I really like the look of this truck. Even at this price i can't find a place for it in my collection. I like the crazy width of an Outcast on a monster truck and i prefer aluminum chassis. I really enjoy my MT10 and have always wished it was bigger and more powerful but this truck just doesn't seem like it fits that description. I think they need to start over from the ground up. I am really hoping that's what the sale was to eliminate current stock for a new model.
Shock internals are pants and they do break. The c clip inside comes off and you have to replace it and all the fluid. When you pop the clip and replace it. It will just keep happening. I installed Arrma internals and solved the problem.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs a small piece of extra rubber bump stop helps prevent this (1cm of rubber tube will do) also don’t over fill shocks and keep stock shock weight - or go lighter. The shocks are over damped if anything from factory and the pack on big landings can blow the clips.
@@SnoriRC Yea a classic mistake is people putting thicker shock fluid in with the standard shock. I run 80WT in mine but like I say Arrma internals. Thanks for the tip always good to know other mods that help. Not sure would of helped me though as I extreme bash so some of my findings don’t affect most 😂
Nice video, same with MT10 video :) Been looking into this even with all the negative reviews as I think MT8 is a better size than MT10. I have an MT10 and it feels a bit small. I also have a Stampede Bl-2s (with 4s combo) and that one is more solid than MT10 for me. Kind of funny as MT10 is regarded THE tank... I have popped a shock and one of the turnbuckles or links keep popping off all the time... Same one, constantly. Looking forward to a running video of the MT8 to see if your upgrades make this a good buy!
I believe I saw that some people drill out the shocks a little to keep them from blowing out. I have also recently picked up the mt8 as well and of course it's still sitting in it's box, because I want to go over it also, but I also bought a redcat machete 4s back when they were on sale. ( Which is also sitting on the shelf untouched) But I'm kind of hoping I'll be able to do a power system swap.
So far I've been really liking it. I have had it out now around 5 times. And the only real issue I have had is that the motor does get hot with the current gearing. But it's a blast to drive and has taken a few tumbles. It drives a lot like a mt10
i have a kraton 4s and the mt8 is I have a lot more fun with the mt8, which handles better and is faster than the kraton in stock form in 4s. Definitely a much better value for 350 ive changed the radio and added a fan to the motor. The arrma will probably be more durable though if you are doing bit jumps.
On 4S it drives better than the 4S Outcast. Has a central middle diff - nice weight balance. On 6S it is an incredible stunt truck. You will upgrade it but when done it’s (IMO) superior to the 4S Outcast. It makes the maxx and outcast feel very pedestrian compared.
@@SnoriRCya I really wanna get this or a kraton, just worried once I fix all the problems with this I'll be well over the $460 the kraton is. Don't much care for the electronics on this and don't have any 6s batteries

MT8 is a beast. Alu Hubs, Kaiju (service pack) arms and 5mm Arrma turnbuckles and you’re about done brother! 🎉
Excited to see this run. Since they came out Ive been thinking of picking one up. Crazy that they are cheaper then a Stampede 4x4 haha
The upgrade pack has nothing to do with the change of shell livery.
I have had both livery’s and for the service pack in both 👍

I ripped all the wiring out. Mainly because I cut through the rear wires when I damaged the wheelie bar ha ha

I've been on the fence for so long about this truck. Will be keeping an eye on how you get on with it.

No it doesn’t come with service pack…I just purchased turnbuckle to replace a broken one already but I love the MT8 performance‼️🏁🔥

I cant decide on getting this or an arrma kraton/outcast 4s. Leaning towards arrma. Any input from anyone?

the teal version as far as i can tell in the US comes with a lipo and charger - hence the higher price.
Both colors have that option.
