I almost bought one, but it looked like it needed upgrades. But that was just looking at it. I was afraid of week shafts and diffs stripping. Again, I loved the way it looked but seems like you proved me wrong! Looks like a great truck and awesome how to! Thanks AJ!!!👍👊👏
Hey Speed! Hope you're doing well buddy. Diffs are actually really strong on the mt8 Speed! The weak spots are the arms, turnbuckles, hubs, hub carriers and stub shafts.. kaiju and arrma parts really help improve the durability of this rig. I've got a few videos on it myself if you're interested. I finally broke the wheelie bar after a hundred bad landings on it, and have a surprise mod coming next Friday. Not sure if it will be stronger, but it's going to look majestic as heck! Lol.
How right you are about the use of power tools Last year I was using a dremel on my Talion and I leaned a little closer to get a better view and my long hair flopped forward and tangled around the tool 😵 Luckily the dremel jammed up and stalled , but not before I lost 4/5 inches of my hair on one side 🤦♀️ A more powerful tool would have been much worse . I now tie up my hair and stuff it inside a baseball cap . Safety first people 👍
Nice install and upgrade, The MT10 has the same steering servo saver, Once you get it where you want it put a little super glue on the threads so it will not move again other wise it is just going to keep loosening up
I forget how nice captured hinge pins are till I see a TA build video. Haven't worked on a TA vehicle since the original RC10T. So now instead of breaking hub carriers you will break the glass arms. At least Arrma made an appearance with the Katars under the chassis as a stand! Thanks for the video I just don't see TA making anything near durable enough for bashing. Still great track stuff. For bashing/stunts will stick to Arrma for overall toughness.
Actually, the Team Associated MT10 is definitely one of the most durable, affordable RTR RC's there are. I haven't been able to phase it at all whereas the MT8 fell apart under the same circumstances.
@@AJJAMStudios RPM and Red Cat Kaiju arms will fit. The Ret Cat are a lot more flexible, I'm wondering if that is going to have an impact on the driving. I just broke one of the originals, and I'm waiting on the Red Cat ones, so I don't have an answer yet.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I've been looking at the MT8 since its release. I've seen a few videos that turned me off of this truck. I didn't realize how much of the parts the Kaiju and MT8 shared.
I usually go for heat and a brand new, tight fitting tool. If that fails or you’ve stripped it out completely it can be almost impossible to remove. Best of luck. If you get it out please share how you did it with the community; it’s always awesome to learn something new and help others along the way 👍
Saw all your videos about this truck. Now that again some time has passed. Is the truck now durable in your opinion with the available RPM arms, alu steering rack, better turnbuckles and maybe the alu front and rear hub carriers + spindles. Or will it still break often with these upgrades? Thanks a lot.
I don't know why, but Team Associated doesn't sell the xp-r4dvc 29256 receiver(Gyro enabled receiver for the xp120 transmitter). It seems like it doesn't exist anymore.
Hi, you seem to know what you doing. I'm new to this hobby and I want to buy 1/10 scale truck and I have 300$ budget (including battery and charger). What would be the fastest and most durable option? Thanks!
Bud I’ve been in this hobby for 35yrs. For that price point you are looking at a brushed vehicle. Look at the Arrma 3s series. Check out tower hobbies and horizon hobbies scratch and dent. Also consider easy pay. They divide the payments into 3 and ship when first payment is made. Let’s you have more options.
This may be controversial now days but in high school welding class we were taught not to use gloves with thinks like grinders rotary tools in general as like in another coment about hair they can get wrapped up and pull off fingers opposed to just getting a nasty cut if you get into them... I graduated in 2005
I've been working in the industrial field much of my career and Gloves while using this type of equipment is MANDITORY. I've seen injuries from grinders and such. The PROPER gloves are much needed. The wrong gloves will do as you suggest however. Read the rules set forth by OSHA and you'll find the requirements. Safety is ALWAYS first.
@@SnoriRC btw, the MT8 is still on my RC wish list because it's pretty awesome. (my RC list is a very, very long list 😂 😂) I'll wait for the V2 though.. Do you remember how the MT10 Rival was a bit weak when it was first released.?.. Associated revised a couple of things & It's one of the best 10th scale bashers you can get now.! I'm guessing the MT8 will be the same.. Enjoy yours, it would be awesome if you could let me know how you get on with it.. Thankfully you only lost a bit of hair. Definitely Safety First. 😎👍
I lost a friend who was pulled into a 9 inch grinder by his work shirt. Rip brother!
Very informative. I found this extremely useful having just ordered the mt8
I hope you enjoy the MT8!

Interesting idea. Thanks for sharing. 😎👍
Another good how-to video. Keep them coming. 👍👍
I do like this truck. Drives alot different than most of my other Rcs

Any reason you didn’t just get the associated steering rack??you don’t have to grind anything down
Thanks for the quality content as ever. Much appreciated! 👍
My pleasure!
I think the a-arms are by far the weakest part. Did rpm announce a replacement in the meantime?
Not that I’m aware of. If anyone finds a set please share it with the community. Thanks 😎👍

Hello AJ!!! I missed you! I’m catching up on your vids. I’m very behind! I’ll comment on the video after I watch it. 👊
Do you have the red cat part numbers for these upgrades
They are now in the description. 😎👍
With these upgrades and the V2 Kaiju upper turnbuckles you will be bulletproof dude.

What are the part number RER13324, RER13323, n RER13327? I already have a steering rack
How do u take out a stripped hub screw? I stripped mine on my kaiju.

What would you say is the best RTR 4x4 for under £350

Gr8 video :)
Is this basically a mgt8.0 brushless?

The best upgrade for the MT8 is to take it from your basket.! Lol
