Lyrics:
Immunity
Long overdue
Contagion
I exhale you
Naive
I opened up to you
Venom in mania
Now, contagion
I exhale you
The deceiver says, he says
You belong to me
You don't wanna breathe the light of the others
Fear the light
Fear the breath
Fear the others for eternity
But I hear them now inhale the clarity
Hear the venom, the venom in
What you say inoculated
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity
Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Read my allegorical elegy
Enumerate
All that I'm to do
Calculating steps away from you
My own
Mitosis
Growing through
Delusion from mania
Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Weave my allegorical elegy
Forfeit
All control
You poison
You spectacle
Exorcise the spectacle
Exorcise the malady
Exorcise the disparate
Poison for eternity
Purge me and evacuate
The venom and the fear that binds me
Unveil now
Lift away
I see you
Running
Deceiver
Chased away
A long time
Coming
In 1996 I asked for some gardening tools for my birthday. My then 13 year old daughter bought me Aenima, along with a few assorted actual gardening tools which have long rusted away. We've gone to 5 of their concerts together. I have every album and this year for my 68th birthday she got me Fear Inoculum. She's a good kid.
All most 69 lol
Awesome kid!
You raised her right.🤙👍🙏
She's an epic kid !
I think that’s the most wholesome thing on the internet
“Hello, work? Yes, I can’t come in today. I’ve got to spiral out and keep going. Thanks.”
🤣 Picturing this to Invader Zim and I lost it...
"Hello, work? Yes, I can't come in today. It's mad, I put my feet upon the ground, and I've only gone and lost myself between the sounds."
"Yeah it's quite embarrassing... I can't say it. Ok ok... Goddamn. Shit the bed." 😬🙈😂😂😂

Robert Troy Hampton-Peterson I agree I’m having a long lunch listening to this
The reason it takes TOOL so long to do an album is because they are actually taking the time to write the most awesome music the world has ever heard.
also because Maynard has like a million other side projects.
@@midwaygamer-ou3my true dat, true dat
Maynard didn't start writing until after 2012
That and keenan has like at least 3 other projects going. Pusifier seems to have his interest more these days.
Well if you listen to the forward observer, he says it's because the other band members of Tool make sure that the music that is played, is always exactly what they want, before he gets his hands on it. Personally I believe it.. This is ONLY musical act that crafts, creates and makes sure that it's at a Beethovian level before it hits the public.. Thanks Mr. Carey. Mr.Jones, Mr.Chancellor, and Mr. Turn down a commission at West point for all that you do, to show this generation and those of the past, what true music should be.. I am forever grateful and fortunate to be able to hear it.. The Angels of the musical choir in heaven sing your praises as well. Stay steadfast in what you do. We as the fans definitely appreciate it.
Took my grandson to see Tool, didn't want to go, said he didn't want to go see some hippie band from the 70's. Looked over during Sober, he had tears running down his face. Now he has tools album covers tattooed all over his body. Mission accomplished.
Hippie band from the 70s?
Where did he get that idea?
Our son is 5 and has gained an increase in amusement towards our musical taste lately. We've recently been talking about taking him to his first concert. We were mainly concerned with the loudness. But now that he tells us to turn it up while we're driving we've determined that the noise shouldn't be a big issue (he will be using earbuds when the time comes though).
I'd love for his first live music experience to be with Tool but I feel like it might be too much and might want to start with something different.
Awesome story!!! My daughter is 15 plays guitar and listens to all of my music lol. Wr saw Tool in November in Philly. 2nd song she says dad... they sound better than the who , Tesla ect. Typical attention seeking comment from a two year old.
Tool fans: They're never coming out with another album.
Tool: Hold my years.
..tears.
This will be the last one though
Says who? These guys are too creative to call it quits. We will all wait for anything new as we have for what dropped today. Tool is too vital to my own existence to believe that this will be it (Aug.30).
@Chris Peter They didn't say that but its obvious with how slow they are and how stressful they find it to make one album with each other.
Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if this was really their last album. I mean, by now it looks like this is going to be another great album by them, and if that turns out to be true on August 30 then they will have no bad albums in their discography. Just imagine if they release a sixth album and it sucks, it would be a stain on their sacred reputation.
To my husband, gone these two years, six months and 28 days. Tool was the soundtrack to our marriage. I miss you, Daddo.

Going to see for the first time at MSG Saturday 13 Jan 2024!!! Very pumped 🙌
Saw them for the first time this week, and yes, what an experience
The only problem is when Maynard stands up back with his back to the audience for the full concert. I saw him down in Portland Maine, and that's exactly what he did. Although I have seen him twice more at the amphitheater in Maine, and he was up front for those ones.

Just saw them
For the first time live couple nights ago, they started with this, my jaw was on the floor. I’ve legit never been so in awe at a concert before. Such a perfect opening song and was just crazy how much sound they put out on 3 instruments and a singer
Just saw them for the first time live last night and I agree! They are great in the studio, but they seriously put on the best show I've ever been to. It was unreal.
Ahh my friend, the first time I saw Tool was at a small club in SE DC called The Capital Ballroom in 1996 just after Ænema was released. I was on 2 vial drops of LSD-25 and about 15 minutes before Tool took the stage, a barely audible bass frequency could be heard and slowly it increased in volume, then at around 10 minutes people started holding their chests because the bass frequency had turned into a weapon and just before everyone started to leave Danny came out and started the intro to Third Eye, then each instrument followed suit. Then, while I was peaking on the cleanest acid I've ever had I saw MJK painted perfectly blue on his right side and silver on his left side perfectly 50/50. From the top of his head down, there was a perfect line dividing him in half. Besides seeing both pink floyd shows at RFK in 94, nothing has topped that experience and I've seen hundreds of shows. I'm so grateful to live 30 minutes from the 9:30 Club in NW DC. Cheers my friend!

Fucking losers hyping up Tool, meanwhile it sounds exactly like their other tracks. I was hoping this was going to be terrible. Glad it was.
The drummer and the bassist is the soul the singer and guitarist is the heart
Drums skeleton, bass is the musculature, guitarist is the skin, fingernails and hair and maynard is the voice that comes out
I'd describe it in reverse, but rock on!🤘
Yes caca demon
This whole album is the best I've ever heard.
This is by far the best song of Tool since 2006.
Are you high? Maybe top 10, but you're telling me between 2007 and 2019, that this is their best? Absurd
Neal Schuster we are all high
😂
@@NealBones not sure if u Will just play role of dummy but Last album tool Released was 2006. And this song is top 5 tool song all time imo.
This is the best album Tool has ever made since that last best album that Tool ever made.
No matter how much I listen, I keep forgetting how the song goes.
I think this is a blessing...
Ah fellow forgettor! We are truly blessed to suffer/enjoy this condition. Imagine what will happen with the new album. So many songs that we'd forget and listen to again for the first time.
DrigZee Lma exactly. That’s what makes them so amazing.
I least you won't get bored of this song in like two weeks
Thank you Tool it was worth the wait. I can see why it took awhile to create this masterpiece. Just another chapter to add to the Tool saga.
SAME
I'll never forget listening to the midnight airing of this album on 93.3 WMMR out of Philly, while I was rolling asphalt in South Jersey where I work. Epic experience.
And of course the real bangers are 10+ fucking minutes long. Love it. Always a refreshing change from the industrial/post-industrial I usually rock out to.
This song blows me away... Everytime. Wait a week, rinse repeat. Get blown away. Thanks tool. I met you once maynard. Your a germ freak and wouldnt shake my hand. But looked in my eyes and told me to keep listening. Here i am bro. And time after time you deliver. By the way your wines pretty good too haha.
1st time: Hmm. It's good.
2nd time: It's getting better.
3rd time: OMG that bassline.
4th time: EXHAAAALE, EXPELLLL!
you described exactly what I felt
Exactly
Dude that exhale expel part is killer!
That was my yup moment as well lol
SAME!!
Feels like August 30th I'll have an appointment with my old therapist.

"Old therapist". Is her first name Lucy?
@@bechtel35 in the sky?
More like call in sick at work.
@Purple Angry Zmurf who's the idiot?
I had the opportunity to see these incredible people, LIVE and i took it. I saw them and my beautiful Maynard james keenan on 10/11/23 it aas incredible to see how active all of them really are during the song. Maynard was running around everywhere, adam wouldnt stop bopping his entire body to the song, danny was head banging and smashing the heads of those guitars, and justin was just, well you know justin. This was the first song of the setlist, and as soon as they started to play this, i stood up and screamed so loud. This song is so amazing it deserves more credit. Just so yall know, tool fans are everywhere. For example, im 13.
That's the first time TOOL starts a record with the title track
I'm a simple man, I see a new ten and a half minute long Tool song, the next forty two minutes of my life are suddenly free
Forty six and two minutes?
tool sucks
@@TonyCastro97 Just wanted to comment that as well
Imagine when the whole fucking 85 minutes album comes out. You're not going to see me around for a while
You made me laugh... thank you
This has got to be the most positive comment section in the history of UA-cam.
The only other positive comment section i've seen is any under a Band-Maid video. They are an all female hard rock band from Japan. Don't let the cute girls in maid outfits fool you, these ladies can shred. I've read nearly all the comments on their videos and i haven't found a bad one yet. Most of the comments are about how skilled they are and not about how hot they are, which is very refreshing. Check them out if you get bored. This isn't their best song but there's a bit of a TOOL vibe about 2:18 into the song. ua-cam.com/video/N7BQCkUb4SI/v-deo.html
@Telios Abraxas god damn, all I want to do is strraang....make you see your errors
@Telios Abraxas I'm sorry your parents didn't hug you enough.
@Telios Abraxas i promise you, when u grow up you will loose all that negativity and anger towards your fellow man while trying to sound clever and sarcastic with your funny jokes. But u have to stop drinking that moonshine and get some deep sleep for like a year or so. Your reactions only reflect your thoughts about yourself and what u wish your life should have been like. Dont be so dissappointed, its a journey.
Recipes in the future:
“Now place the casserole in the oven for the duration of 4 Tool songs.”
One of the best songs I've ever heard in my life.
I'm sitting on the toilet at work listening to this, I know my priorities
Antoine Lefebvre same. Probably will fall over by the time I try to get up.
Same lol
I literally just did the same as I came across this comment. Lol. Gotta expel those fears
you are no the only one! tool 4ever
Pooping for tool here as well
So beautiful! Blasted this in my apartment and then heard my downstairs neighbor playing it right after.
That's how you know the hype is in the air!!! :D
I hope that's true.
yeah lets be real that didnt happen
Lmao 😂
That's beautiful man
I love Tool.
This song is proof that some people are just better at their job than others.
Rino Zisa 💪🏽👍
Theres the novice and there's the master....Tool is the latter of course
@Kevin Meer Good point.
4sher Tool is proly the best in its own form & Can prove that ther swag is kinda timeless and will proly make up n drop hits til hes 80 lol
if you talk about his wine, i can not agree
It’s time for a new generation to fall in love with this band all over again.
Kind of like we did Pink Floyd

Every note every harmony every lyric every sound every second hits home...
This song is officially the longest song to ever chart in the Billboard Hot 100. After 13 years, Tool still are making history!

I’m thinking of all the tool fans who are no longer with us over last thirteen years... makes me appreciate being alive right now...
This comment hit me hard. I had a friend who was as big of a Tool fan as any I have known. He passed away last August. An amazing guy, but at least he got to listen to Eat the Elephant.
One could say you're celebrating this chance to beeeeeeeeeeeeeee alive and breathing?
Lukas Garcia I’m so sorry about your friend! Eat the elephant wasn’t that great though in my opinion.
Tim Sullins exactly
My buddy Chris Griffin passed away 2 years ago and he loved Tool
Tools music is panacea, the facilitator, the fuel to realms unknown, places unimagined, as is much great rock n roll.
I saw Tool live the other night and it was the most beautiful musical experience, nothing will come close to it. I love this band !
Nashville show?
I was at the Charlotte show. @@BittersweetDuality

The whole album is 1 song.
I sympathise with all of you as you are all true to your everything and this is just a reminder our everything becomes the missing pieces that just fell in place.
I love how people wake up and come together over Tool every decade or so. Evolution is a crazy thing.
