Lyrics:
We are spirit bound to this flesh
We go round one foot nailed down
But bound to reach out and beyond this flesh
Become Pneuma
We are will and wonder
Bound to recall, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming
Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now
Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now, child
(Spirit)
(Spirit)
(Spirit)
(Spirit)
Bound to this flesh
This guise, this mask
This dream
Wake up remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming
Pneuma
Reach out and beyond
Wake up remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, eyes full of wonder
My steering wheel takes a beating during this song. That riff is unstoppable unstoppable i say!

9:05 is a spiritual awaking in music ,Adam Jones captures tone just like Jerry Cantrell, they are masters
I IMMEDIATELY imagined when I do the exact same thing in the car. I sing the song all the time too and sometimes, I sing the lyrics.

That's what you tell all the guys..
This song simultaneously sounds like it was buried in a crypt, never to be found, ancient and forgotten but yet sounds like it’s 1000 years from the future. i love tool
My Favorite band hands down
Dune Pt. 3 soundtrack
It is supposed to be that, it mentions Christian concept of God being the first and last cause of human life and existence in general
They are truly of another universe. They tied together the whole human journey in no small part because of the massive amount of evolution. They’ve done in their own lives.
@@stephencosgrove3475 Why are they presenting Christian nihilist philosophy here then (expressing similar to it views)
Basically why if they are atheists they are presenting here a spiritualist view?
I'm 60 yrs old, and tonight is the first time i've listened to this amazing band, I raised My two Sons on a strict diet of Rush, Heavy Rock, and all Music in between. They have went on to become talented musicians . My eldest Son, through the music of Rush, has become a great fan of DREAM THEATER and TOOL. Me being a devout Rush fan, never considered these other Bands, I should have known better. Thank You Adam for introducing Your Old Man ( Me ) to this tremendous Band. Listen through Your Headphones People, Hear everything xxxx
Good shit
Almost 61 here. This is the first Tool song I've ever listened to (thanks to reactors Jamel_AKA_Jamal and Lost In Vegas), for the first time yesterday, and it's absolutely brilliant. On repeat and not a song but a journey. It nudged out my Robert Fripp/Daryl Hall, Joe Pesci, and Albert Ayler jags of last week ;-)

Just the drum track alone is a masterpiece. Perfectionist beast of a drummer Danny Carey is pushing 60 at 58, Justin Chancellor 47, Maynard 55, Adam Jones 54. Much respect to these legendary musicians. Timeless music. Astounding release, thank you!
I think that the drum it's the must important aspect of this album . And the progression it's a post rock/metal album for me.

Welcome to the family, brother!
Danny Carey is truly amazing - I can't comprehend how you could begin to write something as inventive as this. He has created a whole new boundary for drummers like myself and consistently pushes the limits of drumming.
Even Mike Portnoy found it hard to play
@@nevilletownsend3361 Being a good drummer isn't really about difficulty though
@@The_GreenHub MIke himself said this in the video -- it's the creativity that had his mind blown; the fills, the tempo shifts, the structured space in the song, the time signatures, the polyrhythms, the syncopation. Danny and Mike are both geniuses -- game recognize game ;)
@@The_GreenHub Yes, notice how easy DC makes this look live. A professional percussionist isn't about difficulty, it's an all-encompassing mastery of all aspects of the field. Starting with just silence.

If were being real honest Fear Inoculum was the least original effort. Each album was an evolution, and FI felt like they stayed in the same place sonicly.
@@knowtheroleof course they ' evolved ' their music , the band members themselves ' evolved ' too , the years ' brought ' them more experience , they can probably play / sing better überhaupt perform better and have gained more experience through the years ( i highly doubt if the last 20 years made them less experienced about life or about being a musician ) but the thing is , they keep the original ' style ' of the band they keep that original sing style and they somehow seem to manage to make something new out of that , a new ' classic ' tool song if u will and that is just plain cool (; if u ask me
Tool is the only band that can drop an album with almost every song over 10 mins and never lose my attention... Through the entire album...
Charles Shank man even as someone with ADHD my concentration and attention is heightened with Tool. I can listen to hours and hours of Tool and no get bored or lose attention. It triggers my brain like no other music does.
Man that is awesome that you have found a band that helps you that way, music speaks to the soul it is such a shame that people spend their entire life without finding what actually speaks to theirs
How does one not automatically feel the energy of when an inverted white hole goes back to black.... Damn.... That's some energy...
Old opeth does the same with me too. Grabs you and takes you on a journey 🤘

Dude Tool fans have the best UA-cam comments ever lmao. The positivity is so refreshing.
Robin that has to be the lamest comment i’ve read, but i still relate to it on a spiritual level.
@@parkergray4834 Whos Robin? lol.
@Randall I agree, every song I listen to on here by Tool I will scroll down and read like 10-15 comments and peoples replies and when I read some of the comments it makes me so happy because for a long time it seemed people (outside of the true fan base) percieved Tool as a depressing "heavy metal" and too much screaming type of band (honestly, that's words I've heard people used who hadn't actually bothered to take the time to actually listen), but now I'm seeing people coming from every corner of the galaxy to make a positive remark and to celebrate such beautiful music. Another great thing is the comments I've read about people just discovering Tool for the first time, or Taylor Swift fans came to listen just to see what the fuss was about and seems like most of em get hooked on Tool immediately and keep saying "why haven't I been listening to Tool forever" and "wow I thought I wasn't going to like this, but here I am falling in love with Tool". hahahaha Tool transcends genre's, time and space and if there is by some crazy chance a God :P out there.... then it listens to Tool too.

One of the most hypnotic and powerful songs TOOL has ever made. Love Maynard's vocals.
I am so glad I found this music. I'm pushing 70. Been listening to rock all my life--literally. Finding new music that's worth listening to is getting harder and harder. Downloaded Fear Inoculum yesterday and I can't get enough. I don't know yet if all Tool's music is this good, but I'm going to sure find out. To me, at least on this CD, Tool is this generation's Pink Floyd--that is high praise indeed.

Early albums of Tool were made by the King Crimson producer, so at fact you will find a lot of universals ideas and aura in their style in general. Cheers!
Pokey 54 Tool doesn’t have a bad album, but my favorite is Lateralus. Tools first 2 albums were opiate (live ep album) and undertow. Very raw and awesome. Then things took a lil more experimental turn for Aenima and everything after. I would check out some of May nards other projects like “A perfect circle” too! They are great!
This made me smile

The Timings, the atmosphere, all Sounds that sound like digital are E-Drums etc. He is doing the Timing, He is brining the heavyness into certain parts and on this album especially drums are suuuper hard in focus. If you listen to it try to notice what is the leading instrument. There are a lot of solos aswell. Fear Inoculum will be a super special Album for Drummers of generations to come. It is one very rare kind of drum focused Album that can give a lot of inspiration, practice etc. I don't know if non-drummers can understand what i mean but this is just super special for us :D
Listen to his drumming on chocolate chip trip
My drummer took his life this past month . This song has been getting me through my bands dark times
Sorry for your loss...
Much love man.
I wish you the best in healing your loss. Luckily this song can play a good part in that process. Be well out there!
I understand 🙏 let what healing you need come through Onelove
Really sorry man!
People that don't make music don't know how difficult is to create a chorus line that works, even more in every album and in every song, but they have done it again...
I have nothing but the utmost awe and respect for musicians... what they do individually is an amazing feat in itself but then to come together and make it all work with the egos involved...it’s amazing. Music is one of the greatest things humanity has and will ever create.
And then you realise this was 5 years ago. I am blown away, this band, this sound, this experience. I was fortunate to see Tool live once, after listening to them for over 25 years. This band is amazing in the true sense.
This a magnum opus. TOOL immortalizing their iconic polyrhythmic sound. It has the most perfect layer build they have ever written IMO.
Charlotte's egg sac from Charlotte's Web
my high ass can't even figure out the time sig lmao
Can't disagree with that. It's a genuine masterpiece.
this and 7empest are the best songs on the album
Peyton Weir 2 measures of 7/4 and a measure of 5/8.
I was in rehab last year for an opiate addiction... lets just say I could have easily died... I left treatment on august 17th 2019 and 2 wks later on my birthday, august 30th, Tool released Fear Innoculum. The moment I heard Pneuma I cried and told myself how lucky I was that I was alive to hear it... Best gift I ever recieved.... Thankyou, Tool!!!
That's a sign, that you are now on the right path and in tune with the universe. Stay strong! I'm happy for you man.

1:15 into my first listen and I've got simultaneous chills and tears. But then... it's Tool. Truly.
BegToDiffah as I passed this comment, i was holding back a tear. 2 songs in and I'm almost crying loll
Brb. Just going to cut some glass with my nipples.
Tool is one of the most precise, perfectionist, most talented bands today. Over 30 years, and they age like wine.
I will be jamming this album for years to come. This is a historic day my friends. God I can’t stop smiling like an idiot. This is too good. I feel truly lucky to be alive to listen to this work of art. Long live Tool.
Same here, I was counting the days down and my anxiety was telling me I might not live to see this day. Fuck you anxiety. I have found an inocolum to fight you with! He he he!
My feelings. They somehow ruined my mid 20's and early 30's by not being there with new music. I mean how many times can one listen to vicarious.
I feel so sorry for all the fans that passed away without being able to hear the new album... Rip guys.
Your so right. Theres so much to unpack and dissect! It will be an amazing journey.
Same, yesterday I hit a point so low, hell the past month or so has been utter chaos and depression. Worth it to listen to this new album, to internalize the words, and honestly feel anew.
I heard them play this live the other night and it simply blew me away. I felt like I was being transported into another dimension. I love this band.
Every time I see tool live, is the best concert thus far
Saw them live Saturday and is now my favorite song.
When they played this live a few weeks ago, i closed my eyes and felt the music...... it wasn't just a rock concert it was a journey an experience like no other...
Imagine doing acid and listening to one of their songs
@@silogaming457 i recommend it
The best thing to come out of 2019 hands down, is this album.
@@nunyabinis or you getting eyeball cancer you sick piece of shit.
AshMatrix Amon Amarth politely disagrees.
Idk man Wale album goes pretty hard...so does Chixtape...this top five tho

Unbelievable drum beats, you cannot find nearly anything like this!
The reason fans of Tool come from all ages, is because TOOL's sound is truly timeless. They're ahead of their time really. Maynard has always been incredibly talented, and their sound has only been refined over the years. They're severely underrated. I hope they can live to see people realize what they're really all about. The perspective in the narrative, and constant attention to detail in the music itself, really create something that transcends all barriers, be it evolutionary, or interplanetary. Absolutely one of the best bands of all time, not just musically, but also in they message they're trying to send to people. All I wish is that more people would listen honestly, and try to understand. At it's heart, everything is a message of unity. It's an expression of our connection to the cosmos. The universe. God. Call it what you will. The power that guides us to do the right thing. To be better than yesterday. For the good of everyone. It reminds us that we are fundamentally alone, but also diametrically together.
Well got damn that was pretty well said Peter Parker. Couldn't Agree more. Say whattup to Mary Jane for me.
@@mitchellguilmette3907 Thanks for reading the whole thing my man, I didn't realize when I posted how long that had gotten LOL. Also, MJ says whattup
And what if God and the universe are distinct?
I agree with everything you said but them being underrated. these guys are very accomplished musicians, who are getting big numbers across all of their music
One of my dating filters is, what do you think about tool. if they don't know, I share. It's effective, I dated a violin player and she became an instant tool fan. not a fan of mine in the end, but now she knows. she passed that stage in my filters.
Tool, you have done it again. This album is going to be considered a masterpiece. Now TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Give it a few years, and everyone will see this album for how amazing it truly is. This is the album of the decade for me.
It's already made it as possibly my favorite Tool album.

Best. Tool. Song. Ever. Fight me.
All songs are equal in Tool. That's true beauty.
I swear this song gets better every year that passes
I knew that was going to happen when I first heard this song.. I said to myself "5 years from now this song will be legendary"
Especially now that everyone is amazed by shit music.
It gets better every time I listen to it.

So glad I survived 2 heart attacks to get to this point, so i understand you well good sir :D

I thought I was going to die during my last stroke, so I feel it is a blessing to be alive to hear and witness this
Same here!! So glad the CPR worked! I even got to hear and see @DanielAlanJones cover this on the drums!! 💯🔥❤️🔥👏🏼🥰🙏🏼😁

This is quite possibly the most mind blowing thing I've heard in the last 13 years.
Preach
Listen to 7empest
Amen
Amen Ramon!
@@maffy715 equally as mind blowing but it doesn't transport me the way Pneuma does, that's just me.
Damn, I'm late to the party. But better late than never! I used to listen to a lot of tool around 20 years ago, and then it came to a point where I hadn't listened to them for a number of years and now I discover that they've apparently released a new album 5 years ago. Haven't heard the whole album yet, but so far Pneuma and Fear Inoculum sound great!
I could listen to this all day. One of the few songs ever recorded that could never and will never run its course and no matter how often I listen to it, just never gets old. This is Pure Art from Tool.
I can't go one day without hearing this song. I've actually picked up my Bible again. Maynard is my idle
I’d pull for Tone Loc wild thing as another song that never loses ground. But that’s just me.
My dad was a big
fan to them I'm sad he didn't get to hear this he probably jamming out rn with me, rip
long lost neighbor ? Same here
Your dead is Pneuma
This broke my heart

I think Tool transcend life and death. Your Dad probably heard this before we did. RIP
You know what the sigh of a great album is, when you can't decide which is the greatest song on it. +10 TOOL, great job...
Discovering TOOL was one of the best things that happened in my whole life.
Great for you! Check out the song Flood.
This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The sound that each instrument achieved, and the way that they flow together, with those lyrics, it's just beyond words. Thank you, Tool for this absolute masterpiece.
hell yeah man
soo many sounds. but that drummer of course kills it. an the meaning of Pneuma compared to the words is awesome.
To me, it's between this and Lateralus for the title of Tools magum opus.
Best tool album of the decade!
Yes, seeing as it is the only album in the decade.

Wonderful time signature, clean sound and lyrics touch the inner mind. Thanks tool .
Maynard's voice is heaven to my ears. His voice is intoxicating.
Watch his episode of the joe Rogan experience
Its hypnotic, therepeutic and just beautiful
Yes 👐
Orgasmic!!!!
kinda wish he used it more on this album!
Is this song therapeutic for anyone else? Whenever I feel anxious, sad, etc. I just listen to the song & the first 5 seconds just relieve me so much. This song in particular makes me forget about everything for 10 min. I’ve never experienced this with any other song. It captivates me within the first 10 seconds
You're not the only one. I feel the same way. I listen at least once a day. I saw them perform Pneuma live twice and each time I shed tears.
Both of you. Marry me... please
you are very beautiful
The first time I heard this song I just stared at myself in the mirror and forgot about everything aswell
even though i do not share that feeling of listening to tool when im sad... in my opinion, there are scales and chords, notes, etc to create music related to sadness. Despite of that, i can't agree more with this therapeutic atmosphere it creates
I'm 70 and I think this band is absolutely astonishing
Correct. They f'ing kick ass.
I’m 90 and I can’t hear shit

If you don’t like TOOL you ain’t COOL
52 year old here and I have always been in awe of the beauty and emotion of their work. ..I appreciate them so much!
when the bass hit i officially left my body. _oh how i’ve missed you_
reicse owen Dude, it clearly excites you but you gotta spell that one word right ... BASS line. Not being a grammar Nazi, just don’t want your passion to ever looked “contrived” to others. I used to be a great speller but now I find myself struggling to remember how to spell certain words. I know bass because I’ve got a gorgeous Fireglo Rickenbacker Bass.
so good to see you once again

Danny's drumming is phenomenal!!!!!
I love how his drumming puts me in a trance every time. I honestly don't know of other bands that interpret native or eastern sounding drums
Fuck a grammy. Leave that shit to beyonce and co.
Danny has and always will be my drum idol. Love his uneven style and outside of the box way to break the even tempo!!!
@Roger G2, the Grammy don't deserve Dany. He's way beyond the Grammes.
Best song on the album, only took it about 5 years to grow on me, but its a masterpiece.
This album is filled with music that feels so ancient.
Ikr, to me they always had an Aztec/Mayan influence for some reason
They all do. You listen to tool, you enter the mysticum.
Warflower The Mayan Effect is close
Ever notice that wisdom “feels” different from knowledge.
Knowledge is seeing the evidence that 1+1=2. There’s info point A, and B and so on, and you put em all together = the conclusion.
Then there’s that rather more fuzzy intangible experience. When you see, hear, learn or experience a truth (big or small) that changes your outlook forever. Funny how that feeling is more like a “drop” or a “click”. It’s not easy to identify an A or a B, but you ‘know’ the conclusion in a different way.
This is what makes it feel ancient. Because A and B in the case of knowledge are out there and you can be forgiven for simply not yet knowing;
But in wisdom A and B were always there, but waiting for YOU to see it differently.
It’s ancient because it’s been waiting for you, and within you.
Have always felt this about tool.
I thinks it's the hypnotic rhythms from Adam and Danny.
Pneuma and Invincible are my favorite tracks on the new album. 10/10 Tool.
mine too
Just said that to my friend !
R3D same bro
Mine too!!
Any review i do of this album change my favorites songs. Now is Pneuma, yesterday, 7empest jajaja
This is some of their BEST work. Goddamn, these guys are wizards
Leviathan Music - I was in awe the entire playthrough of this song and even cheered with “holy shit!” at the final build up. This track is godly.
yeah sure....their best....
Honestly, how could it not be after such a long wait
MRevilsnowman23 - it doesn’t mean they were writing an album for 13 years. They were on hiatus for a long time, not even playing together. Just because someone has a lot of time to do something doesn’t mean it will always be good anyways.
I don't actually like it as much as the old stuff. The bass is doing the same as the guitar 90% of the time, and the sound in general feels very barebones compared to Lateralus and 10000 days. I'm also not a fan of how Maynard doesn't have long lines anymore, it's all just a syllable or two with a long pause
This was my buddy and mine sing for work. We worked our asses in that kitchen but the sacred geometry of tool music kept us living.
That bassline from Justin makes the world stand still for a moment.
God damn it's so true!
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. It's just perfect.
Just discovering Tool in my 55th year on the planet. They are brilliant and Danny Carey is an incredible drummer.
Welcome aboard !
Danny Carey never ceases to amaze
GREAT!!

I had never heard if them until they were put on spotify. Now my playlist is home to 19 of there songs.
In september 2024 listening to this for the millionth time. Tool does something that every other band on earth cannot. Full emersion on a song so long. Progressive music is where its all at. And tool does it perfectly. Never have i felt so trapped in a song like reading a story without looking at the words. Its just slowly processing in your head what your feeling. Thank you so much tool. Your music makes a feeling of completeness that therapy could never create.
Well said. It is so hard to put the emotion of Tool into words. You did so.
Yes!!!!
