I asked about it a couple of weeks ago and man did you deliver. Thanks so much, coach!
My pleasure!

Hi, what’s the standard jump for non-athletes? Btw great video & tips, I have a physical test next week so I’m glad I saw this
The standard broad jump for non-athletes is really a factor on your genetics. Some people could get a 8 foot broad jump first try or others like myself start at around the low 7’s
If youre me about 3ft 😂
Would there be a follow up video addressing each athlete’s weakness/technical shortcomings?
(It looks like Jake can get 12’ if he worked on it, but is there carryover for his sport?
I.e wondering getting heels higher is (broad) jump specific technique)
Possibly. That's a great suggestion. Jake has a very good jumping ability because of his Olympic lifting background. So it would be interesting to analyze what he could do better. Thanks 👍
Hey quick question do you think it's a good idea to do braod jumps instead of box jumps because I don't have soft plyo boxes but only hard wooden ones and it seems kind of unsafe to push myself
Maybe do your broad jumps to where you land on a soft surface or learn how to really absorb that force when sticking the landing so you prevent injury
But definitely do box jumps lol

The distance between the cones is 2meters? And do you measure jump from toe to toe or heel?
Heel
I think this video shows that Olympic lifting has a lot of carry over to jumping from a standing position. But what if you can't do cleans? Is there another exercise that you can substitute for power cleans and hang cleans?
Started doing hand power cleans and their actually not that hard to teach yourself u just have to try and fix ur own form but the hang power clean cuts out the pull of the floor and the squat portion which makes it a lot less complicated and another good one would be the push press
*hang
snatch grip high pull has 0 technique and gives you all the power benefit of a snatch
Have any rugby athletes? How would you program and train them?
What’s a good jump?
What does this mean do 3sets of 2 then 2sets of 1
The hops on these 3🔥
Yep 💪
Thanks to that video I got a 8’ 4” jump without any real athletic background, I hope I can break 9’ soon
und wie läufts?
ich bin schlechter als im sommer weil ich zugenommen habe :'D
i got 7 and a half feet without doing any training and good form is that good?
Certainly a good start 👍
I started off like that too! Now I have a 9 foot and 4 inch broad jump

How would one warm up for broad jump to minimize potential for abdominal strain/abdominal injury and also set up testing the broad jump in a way that minimizes sagittal shear forces on the knee upon landing and potential injuries to the foot like stone bruises? Especially for individuals that don't have access to a track & field facility with a long jump pit or something similar to that. How would your average recreational "masters" S&C/weightlifting shithead that lacks access to a track & field facility or football combine facility setup to test standing broad jump in a way that minimizes potential for stupid yet serious/highly disruptive injuries?
Nice Outro music

its almost funny how Jake jumps so far without almost no leg cycle.
Me having a 7 foot 9 inch broad jump watching this video 😢
I am 9 feet
Wearing a mask cutting off oxygen to the entire body seems counter productive while jumping? Excellent video. Thanks.
