Padmanabhapuram Palace is a wooden palace was built in1601 C.E and is a masterpiece of indigenous Kerala architecture that remains well maintained. Former residence of Travancore dynasty, the palace is open to visitors six days a week from 9 am-4.30 pm and is closed on Mondays. The palace’s murals, floral rose carvings and black granite floors are a sight to behold for even the most jaded traveler. Come see the painted ceilings of this majestic piece of history.
