- It can't all go well... All seems good until it's ready to drive, what problems do we have now?
To every problem there is a solution... to every solution there might well be another problem!
But that's not going to stop me building the thing that many think I shouldn't!
If you are enjoying the series, then why not stick around and look back on all of the previous Capri content and projects! I thank you for your support

@Rough Restos proper sick build i love it .............absolutely class
nice 1 man! she'll be great when all the works done
Your noise and debris from the gearbox quite possible a failing bearing I suspect. It's a very cool project, well done.
Yeah, don't know what is going on with fuel lines!? Have had them start to leak in less than a year! A mate recommended marine ones, crazy expensive, but they are going on next! Good you caught that in time! A lesson for us all! Fingers crossed that the gearbox is ok!
Yeah It's a pain, one of them things to keep an eye on for sure
Wow that sound .. Looking good Jordan thanks for the great content.. Loving the build and engineering.
Really missed these videos, engine bay looks awesome, and it sounds great, your getting there bit by bit, keep them coming, well done on what you've achieved so far.
Thanks, will do!
Looking and sounding good apart from the gearbox noise fingers crossed if only it’s the release bearing but are things ever that easy all the best keep at it you will get there cheers
Awesome buddy!!! yeah that box sounds f****d :(
I used gates barricade fuel hose on the scimitar 10 to 15 years ago. They all look great still.
Very exciting! Keep up the good work
Love this project mate!!
So jealous of this car, can't eait to see it finished
Hey up mate if that gearbox noise goes away when pressing clutch (even lightly) it's most likely imput shaft bearing
You're pretty spot on with that, haven't stripped it yet
But the noise only occurs when the input shaft is spinning, either by engine or the rear wheels, unfortunately 5th gear is toast aswell
@@RoughRestos there is normally a little needle bearing on the gearbox end of input shaft that sort of shares load with output shaft but I doubt it would be that, as for 5th gear most likely an unrelated shift problem
👍💪
Definitely sounds like release bearing aa you probably know it'll whine like that for ages before it gives up.
Rubber fuel lines these days react to stale fuel.
Rubber fuel lines don’t react to stale fuel
@joeedwards627 that's nonsense
@@slickmouse Ok tell me why rubber fuel lines react to stale fuel
You’ve got the engine sorted but what about the suspension, the looks and the colour?
Engines not quite finished yet, the body is going to stay tatty for the time being, the rear has 2.8 single leafs and gaz adjustable shocks, the front is yet to have gaz adjustable coilovers
Hi, I'm putting a Mercedes 3-2 engine and running gear in a ford focus, this required converting to rear wheel drive, yours looks a little bit closer to completion than mine, exciting times, how are you going to deal with the DVLA problem? regards John
Ohh wow, that sounds interesting!
I guess the only DVLA thing would be the engine size/number, it's still the same tax bracket, the main thing is the insurance, that's all sorted and fairly cheap
Sick
Amazed people can diagnose a thrust bearing from this video, I didn’t hear one, anyway it shouldn’t be noisy without the clutch engaged
Thrust bearing almost definitely
I wish, seems not
@@RoughRestos If the noise goes away when the clutch pedal is pressed it is the transmission. thrust bearing does the opposite, makes noise when pedal is pressed
