    1:30 That's an interesting statement and one I could probably relate too. When i was overweight I was told by gym enthusiasts that I had to exercise often and consume a lot of protein to be lean. Their recommendations were chicken, fish, eggs, turkey, lamb, lean beef, and dairy. The mantra was that the more you exercised the more protein you needed to recover.

    The main problem with the plant based diet is that 95% of the food being sold to us as food would need to be binned. When i say main problem I am talking about from the Governments point of view. It's strange how such supposedly intelligent people can just blindly ignore the facts. The solution is always drugs...something they can sell us and make lots of money from

    • @tayloranderson456
      @tayloranderson456 Рік тому +1

      In addition to that, healthcare/pharma is the largest employer in the US, and something like 75% of that is just treating and retreating stuff that's preventible with diet. So if we actually fixed the food problem suddenly, not only would it mean mass layoffs in the food industry, it would mean mass layoffs in healthcare/pharma, and probably another Great Depression. Our economy is actually pretty much dependent on an unhealthy population. This is why we'll never just suddenly outlaw animal products or fast food or something, and why we don't have dentists marching against refined sugar in DC and stuff like that.

    So many "The One" understanding of what causes X, Y, and Z. By now, I think it's fairly clear that people react differently to different types of food. It's quite funny doctors believe that people react to drugs differently, but can't and won't extend that to foods. Too many "experts" in silos. Find the diet that works for you and stick to it.

      Because they are generally speaking to the population at large, not genetic outliers. In this case the doctor quite specifically references genes and the use of adjunct drug therapy for a small segment of the population. The real problem is that far too many people would rather believe that genetics account for far too much.

    Heart disease is cause by fat oxidation in the blood. So vegan, carnivore, or keto all work when you reduce the inflammation in the body that creates oxidative stress on the arterial walls. If there is no inflammation the ldl particles don’t need to “fix” the problem.
    The cause is inflammation from many factors like stress levels, like too much exercise, smoking, sitting too much, road rage, too much fiber, polyunsaturated oils, and a plethora of other things. Reducing your cholesterol may reduce your risk of heart disease; yes. But it doesn’t prevent all cause mortality from other things that are caused by stress, and inflammation. Vegans are in a higher risk category for colorectal cancer because of too much fiber, meat eaters are at higher risk of heart disease. It doesn’t matter what you eat if you’re stressed, and your body is stressed all of the time you will die younger. So maybe we all just need to relax and take in nature and the sun more often and we will live longer; no matter what you decide to eat. (Besides processed foods, and sugar of course.)

    • @neox9369
      @neox9369 5 років тому

      Trust and believe, too much exercise is the very least of 96% of the populations concern. You would have to be a top triathlon competitor who bikes over 4 hours a day etc. before you get adverse affects.

      eating meat increases insulin resistance, I've experienced it first hand. I eat 70% of my diet with carbs and I am losing weight, my insulin use is going down and I hope to be off insulin in a few months. I did keto for a few weeks, my sugars went down but if I ate an apple my sugar would skyrocket....now I can eat apples and bananas with a normal blood sugar. If keto works for you then great, I'll do a whole food plant based diet. I also skip any processed food and sugar, no bread or soda....I really enjoy my oatmeal and fruit, homemade chili and lots of greens.

    The true cause of heart disease is sugar & all foods digested as sugar.
    The liver produces the exact dose of glucose as required, all sugar consumed is excess & is processed into fat, this process depletes our reserves of essential vitamins & minerals & causes nutrient deficient disease such as diabetes.
    While the excess sugar is in the blood stream it is damaging the inner lining of the blood vessels, it is in these damaged areas where & why cholesterol forms a scab to heal the injury, causing high blood pressure / heart disease.
    The cure is as simple as removing the cause.

    • @swites
      @swites 8 років тому +17

      +David Day Interesting theory. So fat and cholesterol has nothing to do with heart disease? So its just a coincidence that people with the highest cholesterol levels have the highest risk for heart attack and stroke? So its not the animal products full of cholesterol they're eating to excess that's raising their cholesterol levels, its only the sugar because sugar turns into fat? What then does the fat they're eating turn into? Something else?
      Just put these patients on sugar free diets and problem is solved? So as long as these patients don't eat any sugar they can keep their high cholesterol levels and not have heart attacks? You'd bet your life on that?
      I'm sorry what you say makes no sense. Sugar is stored as glycogen preferentially in the muscles and liver. The more active you are the more glycogen is burned up and needs to be replaced. "All sugar consumed is excess" is not true, just as saying "all sugar consumed is processed into fat" is not true due to the above process.
      You do realise it takes a lot more energy for the body to process sugar and store it as fat, than it is to store the fat you eat, as fat right?

    • @conradrideoutcr
      @conradrideoutcr 7 років тому +4

      David Day sugar. So you think sugar is the culprit. Not saturated and trans fat? Hahahahaha. Results don't lie bro. Look at the results. Refined table sugar...absolutely. Refined sugar is bad. But equally on par with meat and dairy. Look at the studies. The results. They don't lie bro. However people have their right to choose what they want to eat. And by all means go right ahead.
