    Great paddle, I enjoyed this one. You talk about the work involved in filming my trail running vids, but respect to the canoe videographer. Lots of good shots in this one and some that no doubt took some work to set up.

      Thanks! When its calm and nice out it's so much easier to have the motivation and time to make a good video. I really enjoyed the trip and wanted everyone else to get that feeling too. Such a great paddle.

    Beautiful area and well done vid as always buddy. Looking forward to a canoe trip with ya, ROCKIN them AA style crocs and I’ve never seen you gather that much wood! That was a pile and a fire to be proud of
    Good trip to learn from and great call getting outta there IMO, in higher winds I had good look with sticking close to shore when possible, good safety precaution as well

      Having such a great first day and night really gave me the reset I needed and I didn't want to ruin that memory sitting through a wind and rain storm for the next 15 hours lol.
      If the water was warmer then I'd have pushed my limits a bit more but with 35 degree water Temps I'm not interested in finding my limits just yet lol

    Some weight in the front helps control the boat in those windy conditions. Great to see more people taking advantage of the canoe opportunities.

      Thanks for the tip. I would consider myself quite the novice paddler. Had a hobie kayak before this canoe but I was able to handle 15 to 20mph wind in that thing on open water. I'll figure out my limitations in the canoe and hopefully learn some new skills to get better at it.

    Looks like you had a nice trip. Too bad the wind picked up on you. On bigger, open ponds like Long and Hoel it can make for some tough paddling... I've been there. I must have paddled these same ponds a little before you... there was still some ice on each... especially on Long. Enjoy the new pack canoe. They are great boat for the Adirondacks.

      Thanks for watching. I got out pretty much right after the ice was fully gone. I didn't want to worry about driving all the way up and not having water to paddle haha.
      Hopefully I'll see you out there some day! Love your videos.

    Awesome video! I love the canoe, little pricey for me though. I’ve got an old 100 lb aluminum canoe, and a couple kayaks. I live in a suburb of Buffalo and would love to attempt this with my son, using kayaks. Way to go, busting the cherry on that canoe

      It's a great route for some halfway lightweight Kayaks. Pack light or double carry and you'll be all set. It was a nice little trip.

      Thanks for watching the video. This was a great first try at canoe tripping. I have found it takes some time to gain confidence and build trust with your equipment but I'm getting better and better I think.

      @@AbundantAdventures I’ve been out on windy days but in much more populated places. So it does take some digging in to get where you are going.
      That being said you did the right thing given your circumstances. To be sure. There are times if you build a day or two and you get wind bound you can afford to wait it out. You made the right decision.

      @AbundantAdventures  Рік тому +1

      @lizdg3892 given ice out conditions and although I'm experienced in the woods and kayaking, I consider myself a very novice canoe paddler. One wrong move and it would have made a much less enjoyable ending to that video.

      Haha sure would but I'm not sure why you'd comment on this video for that lol.
      I might put it up on ebay.
