The lean-tos are great, I eventually want to stay in one during the winter. Certain lean-tos have the perfect firepit that reflects the heat just right. The splake was my first one ever, 19 inches. I was definitely a happy camper that day!
Cool Video! I like your style and had to give you a subscribe. I make videos of my Adirondack canoe camping trips too with my Old Town Pack Boat! Love paddling in the St. Regis.
thanks for the sub! much appreciated, glad you enjoyed it. St. Regis Canoe Area is our favorite place so far. It has so many options for different routes and beautiful scenery. Happy paddling!
Looks like a great time man! I just did a similar trip with my girlfriend to the lower ponds in the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest area. Fishing was pretty slow for us, a few Brookies, a Northern and a Largemouth.
Beautiful video, very realistic traveling travel atmosphere. In May 2021, I also traveled by a boat and fish. True, it happened in several thousand kilometers from you and on another continent. But nature around was very similar. It was in the Tver region on Lake Seliger. Russia, about 400 km from Moscow to North-West. Unfortunately, in those places where I traveled no salmon fish. Pikes and perch only from predators. There is also an eel, but I could not catch it. I look a lot of video of Canadian and American travelers who are engaged in fishing. And almost always they prepare the fish roasting it. I wanted to ask - Is there a tradition in the Western Free world to cook fish soup? We have such a tradition. Often cook soup with fish, sometimes fish in small water. Well, fry of course too. Since the pike has dry meat it is tastier in stewed. And the decoction of perch has a magnificent taste. I was glad to see what you transformed spinning into the bottom tackle. We are often practiced. For the catch of eel and pour. Good luck in travel!
Thanks for watching! That sounds like quite the adventure you went on. I've seen a few people make a soup-type meal from fish, I haven't tried it yet though. Safe travels!
@@AlansOutdoorAdventures Fish soup is a characteristic dish of Russian cuisine. There are many rivers and lakes so river fish has always been available. The reference fish soup is called "уха ( u-khA)". It is made of fish and onions. In fact, it is fish broth. There are many legends and belief related to this soup. The soup feature is that when it is cold outdoors it cools not so quickly. Some are immersed in the fish soup the burning wood, others add some vodka. The alcohol denatures proteins and soup becomes more transparent. I do not do it. And I do not advise you - this is all excess and no need. It is enough just to cook fish with a onion and black pepper. Try somehow. I am sure that this practice will not disappoint you.Just be sure to remove the gills from fish. Otherwise, soup will be bitter.
Gotta love the lean to’s!

Perch are just as good or better than trout.
I did this same trail. It's time.for me.to go back only I'll take a fishing rod this time instead of just paddling. How old is Sammy?
It's a great place for sure, I can't wait to get back. Sammy is going to be turning 6 years old in a few weeks. Thanks for watching!
Are those splake stocked, or do they hybridize naturally?
These are stocked here, I've read that they are capable of reproduction but it's very rare. Thanks for watching the video, much appreciated!
Where the heck are ya ?
