Beautifully serene body of work (aka. pleasure). Just like the last person commenting, I think I will add this to my to-do list ... I will just skip the knee-deep mud episode, if I can. Great stuff.
As always nice filming/video! It was so surreal meeting you on the portage, just want to say thanks for taking your time and stopping by to chat a bit even tho you had a canoe on you! It was great meeting you! :)
Kev, I really enjoy your channel. I just turned 70 last month. I love to hike and camp. But, I couldn't handle a portage with my worn shoulders and knees from playing sports my entire life. A hike I can handle but I couldn't imagine carrying a canoe on my back for a mile or so. Five portages in one day? I give you props for that. These are really good videos. We feel like were along for the ride. That's best complement you could get. Video work is awesome too. I'm not good at the video kind of stuff so it makes me appreciate the videos even more. Nice work.
Wow beautiful scenery, so glad you ended up filming this on your phone when the camera dumped. Really like your style and storytelling in this video - great job.
Wow, SO beautifull!! I really like your videos. Despite their high quality, peace and tranquility it moves me to see that you love Canadas beautifull nature that much. Your videos are in a row with Jons, Xanders, Maxims and Keenans to me and they make me really happy. Thank you so much, Kev!
Woke up remembering a canoe camping trip I had with my brother-in-law about 40 years ago very similar to the one you took in the park. Thank you for the memories you’re video and trip brought back for me. The experience should be a definite “must” experience in one’s life if possible 👍😊
Thank you so much for the hard work that went into making this stunning video. You totally lucked out on the weather. You are living the dream. I must get my trip out of my head and onto the calendar.
Awesome video Kev, beautiful shots. Sorry about the camera, bummer, but the phone footage is great 👌 it’s all that we use for our videos (not saying a proper camera isn’t better - but I use a phone for simplicity and ease which keeps the focus on the trip) glad you didn’t let the incident ruin your mood!
Thank you so much! And yes I agree with you on the phone footage. Your videos look great! The only issue I had on this trip is that I didn't have the attachment to use it with my tripod...
It's wild how the water levels change the conditions of the put ins/take outs of portages. We did those first 9 portages last week and putting in at South Cannisby was the toughest for us (higher water levels and lots more mud). Cradle lake's was probably one of the easiest for us. Great vid!
Awesome dude, I think I was in the park at the same time as you, incredible weather!! I started from Brent, up Petawawa, Catfish, Burntroot, WhiskeyJAck and then Nippissing river all the way back to Cedar lake, 6 days! Video will be a while, but I saw a couple of moose and fishing in the nip was good! Keep on adventuring brother awesome.
No way! Would have been awesome running in to you but we were in completely different parts of the park. I’m reading this as I’m about to lose reception as I’m headed on what will likely be my last trip of the year. Looking forward to watching your video!! Loved your Yukon adventure! Cheers brother 🍻
Thanks! I just got back. I went to Killarney Provincial Park here in Ontario. It's an incredibly beautiful place that you'll have to visit at least once!
Excellent video, as always. Very interesting route through a beautiful section of the park! I had my eye on a similar loop for next year, but this has enticed me to copy your trip itinerary.
Significantly better weather than the fall trip I just posted. I'm jealous! ;) Nicely done. I enjoyed the video very much. Nice trip! Subscribed and looking forward to future posts!
This video is everything - the amount of work that you put into capturing the shots in the most authentic way is simply amazing. I am so sad I didn't get to go to Algonquin this fall, and this video filled the void for me.
Hello Kevin, your videos are amazing, I am thinking of doing a canoe trip in England where I live just got to buy my inflatable canoe and a good tent, the scenery and the rivers and lakes are not as spectacular as in Canada you are truly blessed , your adventures are inspirational. Thank you.
I love to hear that you're enjoying my videos. I say go for it! There are many beautiful canoe routes in England. Ray Goodwin's channel has some amazing canoeing content from England. Cheers!
Alot of portages but just like life, you have to carry on and get through it somehow, and enjoy the paddle in the canoe when you get the chance. Glad your camera survived…
Thanks Kyle! I suggest trying a short solo trip. There are many lakes in Algonquin that are near an access point. Magnetawan, Hambone, Rain are examples. You will gradually gain experience and will be able to more comfortably venture further over time.
Stunning. Thank you. We did that section between Lawrence, Louisa, North Grace and Bonnechere in the spring, except we were going the opposite direction. That portage out of Lost Shoe was a tough one indeed. We had trouble finding it from the Lost Shoe end until we got through those boulders (the lake was flooded and there was no trail at the sign). We wondered if a beaver dam may have been breached on Lemon Lake, the water's were so receded (as you noticed too!) Anyway thank you for taking us back again in the fall! Your music choice is lovely too.
Oh wow! I always find it so interesting how the park can change so drastically within a season. The same route can be done multiple times and it will always feel different. The first time I visited Lost Shoe, half the lake was covered in lily pads :)
@@kevinthewild Thanks Kev. I'm just shopping for a new camera for my solo adventures. Anyway... Really great stuff! Look forward to seeing the nex vid. Are you based in Ontario too?
I thought it was you i briefly passed on the portage going into Lawrence Lk. I actually have a couple of photos of you paddling by my site on North Grace. I was on a 6 day solo and it was the perfect time for a trip with the weather and colors in full cooperation.
This is beautiful. People don't know what they're missing in their life. I've done day trips out to remote locations around Kawartha and let me tell you- overwhelming feelings of joy and happiness . Awesome video, by the way.. I have a Sony a6400 and love it, but this camera quality is superb. Would be curious to know what camera it is.
Kev, how many miles do you average per day. I paddled 11 miles on a challenging river in upstate New York during rain and was exhausted. You look like you cover a lot more ground than that plus portages. Great filming. It makes one feel like we're there with you. Good sruff. Gotta try that candy bar you like.😊
Depends on the trip, but I normally aim for 20km / 12.5 miles per day. My daily mileage on this trip was less than that. The most I have ever covered is 100 miles in two days, but that was more of a personal challenge than for enjoyment lol.
Hey! What equipment do you use for shooting your stuff? The intro looked great and I'm sure I can easily capture stuff like that with my sony a7r4 + a tripod. Will definitely use it as an inspiration for bushcraft series that I'm filming in Spain
You're right I did! I really enjoyed it. No issues with wind - although the winds were quite calm all trip. Based on this question I think you might be interested in my next video ;)
Thank you! In Algonquin you have to book the lake that you camp on for every night of your trip. Once you arrive at your lake you can pick any available site.
Hey Kev, do you know what time of the year you went? Looking at doing a similar trip - curious when it comes to campsites and wild camping, are the sites you picked first come first serve basis? Thanks!
Hey there! This trip was during the end of September into the first days of October. In Algonquin Park reservations are based on the lake you wish to stay at on a particular night. Campsites on that lake are then first-come first-serve.
Hi Kev, I guess that is your name. Enjoyed the video. I have a cottage on Lake of Bays and have done a few trips into the park. Never solo but wanting to give it a go mate. Can you let me know the route you took. Maybe I missed the details. Thanks David
Nice video kev. You have captivated the beauty of Algonquin Park. take care of yourself.
Thank you 😊
Beautifully serene body of work (aka. pleasure). Just like the last person commenting, I think I will add this to my to-do list ... I will just skip the knee-deep mud episode, if I can. Great stuff.
Thanks! It’s definitely a route worth exploring.
As always nice filming/video! It was so surreal meeting you on the portage, just want to say thanks for taking your time and stopping by to chat a bit even tho you had a canoe on you! It was great meeting you! :)
Was great chatting with you! Hope you also had a great trip!
Awesome camera skills with such vivid colors simply stunning! Thank You!
Thank you very much!

Thank you for all the kind comments Nicholas. I'm so glad to hear that you have been enjoying coming along with me.
the soothing, calming music you chose pairs beautifully with the amazing video you created once again. Just love your adventures. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much 😊
This is an amazing journey, very well captured with great shots and video production. Well done. Keep on exploring and creating my friend. ❤
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your adventure! Thank you for taking us along, Kev. Cheers!
My pleasure Dan!
Great cinematography, amigo! Greatly enjoyed the video, headed there tomorrow for 4 days off the radar...appreciate the video as a 'pep talk!'
Enjoy your trip!
You captured some absolutely stunning scenery! This was so relaxing to watch. What a gift nature is! Thanks so much for the video.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed!
Wow beautiful scenery, so glad you ended up filming this on your phone when the camera dumped. Really like your style and storytelling in this video - great job.

Canada in the Fall!
What a treat 🎉
Thanks for the great filming & editing
Glad you enjoyed 😊
Stunning scenery.
It was!
Thanks for the relaxing video Kev, great views.
Thanks Dave!

This is such a wonderfully kind comment Kerstin. Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely beautiful area to enjoy canoeing enjoyed watching your video
Glad you enjoyed it Gene!
Gorgeous! Best time of the year!
It really is!
I'm never in a rush to get out of the Algonquin lol. Beautiful vid, tx!!
Neither am I! Thank you!

I love hearing this! Thank you for sharing! And yes I completely agree - everyone should experience a trip like this at least once in their lifetime.
First video that Ive watched of yours. Super excited to watch all the rest. This was awesome. Much love from Tucson, Arizona
Glad to hear that! Thank you!
Excellent video. Keep up the good work and happy exploring!!
Thanks Michael!
I enjoy all your videos! Thank you for sharing your time and talents! Just beautiful.
So glad to hear that Kris! Thank you :)
Awesome scenery, love them fall colors.
Thank you so much for the hard work that went into making this stunning video. You totally lucked out on the weather. You are living the dream. I must get my trip out of my head and onto the calendar.
Thank you Matt. I’m glad you enjoyed! I really did get lucky with the weather on this one. Hope you get that trip planned!
Awesome video Kev, beautiful shots. What kind of phone are you using? Footage is great.
Wow i opened youtube just in time to see new Kevin's video uploaded!
😄
Welcome back !!! I've been waiting for this !!! Looks amazing. Nice to see your back out in the wild 😁
Thanks Drew! I've got a couple more to come.
It's wild how the water levels change the conditions of the put ins/take outs of portages. We did those first 9 portages last week and putting in at South Cannisby was the toughest for us (higher water levels and lots more mud). Cradle lake's was probably one of the easiest for us. Great vid!
Yeah they definitely can. Hope you had a great trip!
I was in the park at the same time. It certainly was great weather. Thanks for the video.
We were blessed by the weather gods that week!
Awesome dude, I think I was in the park at the same time as you, incredible weather!! Thanks! I just got back. I went to Killarney Provincial Park here in Ontario. It's an incredibly beautiful place that you'll have to visit at least once!
amazing footage and a beautiful trip! That pack looks gigantic, very impressive that you lugged it through all of those portages.
Glad you enjoyed coming along!
Spectacular. I'm inspired now. Thanks for sharing!
Love to hear that! Thank you!
Great trip, and thanks for all the effort you put into your filming.
Glad you enjoyed watching! Thanks for commenting. Cheers!

Thanks Bampot. Give it a shot, I think you'll enjoy it.
Beautiful video -- I felt like I was there.
I’m glad you enjoyed coming along 😊

Thanks James! Yeah I really got lucky with the weather on this trip. I’ll check out your videos too. Cheers 🍻
Did a 2 week long canoe trip through that park when I was 10. Good times.
This video is everything - the amount of work that you put into capturing the shots in the most authentic way is simply amazing. I am so sad I didn't get to go to Algonquin this fall, and this video filled the void for me.
Wow, thank you so much Haley! I hope you can make it out next fall :)
Love watching your videos
My name is Kevin too, haha
Keep up the good work you do.
Thanks Kevin! Cheers!
What a great video! Inspiring me to get out camping although I could never do all those portages.
I’m glad to hear that Michelle 😊

Super beautiful great video. I want to do an Algonquin trip so badly but am I beginner and have nobody to go with!
Thanks Kyle! I suggest trying a short solo trip. There are many lakes in Algonquin that are near an access point. Magnetawan, Hambone, Rain are examples. You will gradually gain experience and will be able to more comfortably venture further over time.
So beautiful! Great place and amazing trip😊
Thank you! Im glad you enjoyed :)

Love the video Love Algonquin Subscribed and thumbs up.
Thank you so much!
Great video as always Kev, hopefully the camera was fine
Thankfully my camera, lens and mic are now all working fine :)
Another great vid! Keep them coming :)
Thanks! Will do!
Hi. Beautiful. And the color. Thanks for the trip. 💯🙏
Thanks Olav!
nice trip dude.mellow,if your ever in oklahoma the coffee is on me.take care, also just put that lens on a window ledge and let the sun do its work.
That's very kind of you John. I'm glad to report that everything dried out just fine :)
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Great video! Beautiful filming. If you don't mind me asking, what camera are you using?
Thanks Ken! The camera I'm using is a Sony A7C.
@@kevinthewild Thanks Kev. I'm just shopping for a new camera for my solo adventures. Anyway... Really great stuff! Look forward to seeing the nex vid. Are you based in Ontario too?
I’m far from being a camera expert but I’m enjoying the Sony so far. And yes I am. Thanks again!
Amazing! So glad I came across this channel.
Thanks Jay!

Yes I remember! It would be cool to see those photos. Hope you had a good trip!
@kevinthewild I sent you a request on Insta. The app won't let me do more until you accept apparently. But I'll forward them there
Beautiful video!
Thank you!
Pretty nice time. I forget we have that a couple hours from the city.
Yeah we're lucky to have it so close!
Enjoyed the video - really good shots! Hope your camera lens ended up being ok
Thanks! And yes everything dried out and is working perfectly :)
Coffee Crisp and chocolate milk. 👍
I’ll give that a try! 😄
This is beautiful. People don't know what they're missing in their life. I've done day trips out to remote locations around Kawartha and let me tell you- overwhelming feelings of joy and happiness

Thank you! And I agree with you. Your 6400 is a great camera. I was using an A7C.
Tomorrow I'm off for 3 days on Crown Land not far from the park. Great country out there. Hoping to catch some brookies and maybe see a moose or two.
Awesome! Good luck!

Man! Those swift boats look really light!! Great trip! Thanks for taking us along!
Just curious if you bearbag or do you use the ursack? Thanks again!
Thank you! All of my food stays in a regular 20 litre dry bag. I hang it every night to keep it away from bears.
Hey! What equipment do you use for shooting your stuff? The intro looked great and I'm sure I can easily capture stuff like that with my sony a7r4 + a tripod.
Will definitely use it as an inspiration for bushcraft series that I'm filming in Spain
You definitely can! This was filmed on an A7C.
Amazing video 😮
what date were you there?
I want to find out the perfect days for Indian Summer next year. :)
Thank you! The trip was Sep 29th - Oct 2nd. It was unseasonably warm though, so I wouldn't count on it being that warm on those dates next year.
I noticed you used a different canoe for this trip. What did you think of it? Any issues with wind? Much enjoyed the video!
You're right I did! I really enjoyed it. No issues with wind - although the winds were quite calm all trip. Based on this question I think you might be interested in my next video ;)
Great video! Do you have to camp in designated spots, or is it wherever you can find a spot?
Thank you! In Algonquin you have to book the lake that you camp on for every night of your trip. Once you arrive at your lake you can pick any available site.

Thanks Dustin! On this trip I was in a Swift Prospector 14'.

Hi Mate, apologies, I asked my question before watching your full video. Now I see your route. Haha
No worries David! I think you should try going solo at least once. Everyone is different but I absolutely love it. Cheers!
Have you tried the Grayl Geopress water filter bottle before? I have one but haven't used it yet.
No I haven’t. Only sawyer squeeze and katadyn befree.
i would have taken a rod in
I’m looking at getting some minimal fishing kit to bring with me next year. What’s your opinion on telescoping rods?
You’re better off getting a good rod that breaks down to 4 or 5 pieces. I’ve not seen any telescoping rod/reel combos that are any good.
wonderful video, 11:26 would you share the ingredients
It's very simple: Granola cereal, powdered milk, and freeze dried strawberries.
33:45 Your forgot your camera! 😋
Please share park details
Algonquin Park, in Ontario Canada
All those lakes and no fishing?
To me that’s a total waste of time and effort….
