    Another way to add cold butter is to freeze the butter then use a box grater to chip up the butter. Return it to the freezer until needed.

      This works so well, that I kept my box grater in the freezer for a while because I was using it so much for that!

    Oh my goodness, I just tried this recipe and I'm blown away. I was very skeptical as I didn't like it any of keto pastry out there.
    But this one is really flaky, just like real pie. I really missed this texture.

    Annie, when I watch this recipe I see that you are holding 1/2 stick of butter. This equal to 4 tbsp. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup= 8 tbsp. I’m I right? If so, then there are is my problem bc I use 1/2 cup as your recipe dictates. Thank you for your help ❤

      This had me confused too. I’m hoping I used the right amount. It looked like an awful lot of butter! A half cup of butter is equal to one stick of butter and there are 8 tablespoons in one stick. How come I’m struggling with this?😅. It isn’t easy being 79.

    Hello. I cannot eat almonds. Do you think this would work by substituting the almond flour with sunflower seed flour then use the other ingredients as stated?

    I just made two pie crust and just realize I didn’t put the vinegar in one of the batches. I hope it’s not that important and that the crust without the vinegar won’t be a flop.😮. What is the purpose for the vinegar anyway and thanks for any responses I might get.

    I'm not sure what happened with my crust. Cold butter and cream cheese, check ....my crust, after being in the refrigerator for 3 hrs, was a gluey mess. Everything seemed fine until I started rolling it out. Then it just stuck to the parchment paper. Back in the refrigerator for 10 mins....the same. So frustrating . I ended up scraping and putting in together in the pie plate.....I hope it works out. I will have to try this again! Any advice would be great! :)

    Why would you bake the crust first for quiche? You have to bake the filling, as quiche is raw eggs, right? You wouldn't bake it twice, or would you?

    I followed this recipe to the “T” however it didn’t work, I had to down the amount of butter 🤷🏻‍♀️

      I’m happy to help troubleshoot your issue 🙂 In order to do so, I have some questions for you!
      What issue did you have?
      Did you make any substitutions to the ingredients listed on my website?
      Did you start with frozen butter?
      What device did you use to cut the butter into the dry ingredients?
      What size egg did you use?
      Did your dough have many visible chunks of butter when rolled out before baking?
      Did you refrigerate your dough before baking?
      Did you blind bake or fill the crust and bake?

      @@KetoFocus thank you so much. Like I said, I made it to the “T” I’m a very picky person and like to follow recipes as written. I see that a lot of people express that they did it and they were successful. Mine comes out way too greasy and it dose not hold like you show. Than you for taking your time to respond me ❤️

      Her flaky almond flour crust is amazing but I can't have almonds due to the high oxalates in it. I found a super tasty and crispy crumbley (but not buttery flaky) that holds up as a great pie crust.
      1 cup coconut flour
      3 tablespoons keto maple syrup
      1/3 cup of coconut oil or melted butter.
      That's it! Tastes like shortbread! Press and pack it in firmly and evenly by hand, blind bake for 12-15 minutes @ 350° fahrenheit, time depending on how firm or soft you want it. This is my go to pie crust now. Credit to Big Man's World for the crust recipe from his blog for keto pecan pie bars. Try it!

      It's $45. That works out to about $1.50 per serving which is equivalent to the price of good protein powder. Doesn't seem overpriced to me.
      ETA: Oops! Misread the site and subtracted $15 instead of 15%. Still comparable to a quality protein powder.
