- Levi’s brother flies up to help us wrap up the cabin roof and the interior insulation/sheeting!
We made some amazing progress this week with the extra set of hands and could not be more grateful for it. Once we get windows and doors in, we are officially working on the cabin's interior.
We will be building porches on both ends of the cabin but those are lower priority to make sure we actually live indoors before winter comes. And winter is coming!
More garden updates are on the way as well as a dip netting trip this July to try and bring home some salmon. Summer is coming to an end already so we are working hard on only the highest of priorities. Firewood and a wood shed are still high on the list too!
I'd give just about anything to be able to spend time with my dad and brothers building a cabin. Having family to help share your burdens is such a blessing. Having a child is such a blessing. Having a project or goal to fulfill like building a home is a blessing. All are hard work but done with love they are a foundation to build a good life upon. Well done, Levi, Becca and family. Thanks for reminding me to count my many blessings.
I’m sure you’re excited to be that much closer to moving in. The cabin is beautiful. I know that a lot of us would love to live there.

Your dogs remind me of ours. They expect you to go around them when there snoozing. Excellent progress on the cabin. Installing insulation is the worst job, especially overhead! Keep up the great progress and stay safe!!!

Roof on before the end of June just as predicted. You guys have done a great job and it's all gravy after the ceiling is sheeted. Continue to work reasonably safe and you'll be in good shape when the snow flies. Can't wait for the dip netting trip that should be a lot of fun.

Henry is growing so fast
Very excited for you 3 and it’s great that family has helped . It would take my family and I years to complete (we never could😅) after 1 week of working together we would probably never speak to each other again😅😅😅 and a work safety tip DO Not play any board or card games with family until entire cabin is completed

On Free Home Alaska, Tina has tested positive for Lyme... so Please check daily and apply neosporin, rubbing alcohol or what every disinfectant you have readily on hand after each tick that adheres! Lyme is a horrid game changer and you guys are doing so well with your project and lifestyle right now. I enjoy your videos and your sweet little one too!

They really should have been wearing gloves when handling the fiberglass.. They are doing a great job on the construction! Your cabin is looking so nice, really coming along! 😊
P.S. Taking chances with heights is not wise, my dad fell 2 stories off a roof during construction, one of his legs hit a board during the fall, he landed with his foot next to his ear, after many knee surgeries, has never been the same, still limps when we walks. Please be careful, not worth it.

Why didnt you put a moisture barrier between the bottom of the metal roof sheeti g and the top of the rafter perlins for constant condensation that will take place? Metal roofing sweats profusely! Its jist going to drip all over your roof insulation and cardboard baffles?
Are going have a ladder to the loft or stairs ?
