Because the original Kingdom hearts had no skip feature , I ended memorizing this cutscene by the time I beat this guy ... And I love that I did ... It's such an awesome scene

I wish they’d somehow bring this Keyblade back. Keyblade of Heart is by far the dopest weapon in the series, along with this fight. This fight holds a special place in my heart & memories, probably the most iconic gaming moment ever for me. The AnsemRiku voice, battle quotes, the dialogue in the scenes before and after, the music, visuals, all of it. If they had of given Data Riku in ReMind the RikuAnsem voice & quotes even if it didn’t make sense to, it would’ve been utter perfection. ❤️

We died alot and we couldn't skip the cutscene due to it being on PS2.
I agree, the Keyblade of Heart had so much potential as a Heartless counterpart to the Kingdom Key, and it's a shame the series had forgotten about it after the first game. I remember how in-awe I was by this weapon, and was hoping to equip it myself, so much that the Oblivion (which is found in the same room where this battle takes place) became my favorite keyblade simply because I mistook it for the Keyblade of Heart.
@@DiscoGlacier They didn't forget about it, it's just that there's no reason for it to exist. That Keyblade specifically was forged together from the Princesses hearts. The only way you'd ever see it again would be if the 6 New Princesses were captured again and had their hearts extracted.

Fun fact: you do more damage in this fight at Level 1 with No Experience turned on than you do at level 50 with it turned off.
Why is that?
Note: With the NOEXP, plus mushu and oblivion/ultima is broken

@@angelromero8661 Because you wouldn't even be able to hurt the enemies that show up later in the game if you didn't have this hidden stat boost.
@@angelromero8661so because you won’t be able to anyway, with exp 0 turned on you also turn on a damage floor. This game floor is the lowest amount of damage you can do. This damage floor just happens to be higher than a level 50. *also you die in two hits at level one so minor buff are welcomed*

this fight took me like 3 hours to beat on normal mode meanwhile this guy beats it with on level 1 with no damage taken and on proud mode

You can parry damn near anything he does. Counterattack is great in this fight. You can just keep swinging.
@@skylerbehunin7777 unless you are an idiot (me)and choose the magic rod in the beginning. Then you don't get counterattack until level 57 meaning not until you pretty much beat the game lol

Im having issues with this fight at lv1, Im using Lady Luck for better strength n MP. Yet I can't time my jumps properly to be short but not too short where I land mid combo.
Question: Is the Kingdom Key longer than Lady Luck?
Secondly; any advice?
That 2+3 hit combo is incredibly smart. Should have looked up your videos sooner (I just started my first proud LVL 1 run a week ago)
When i first played KH it wasn't until this fight where I learned you could continue sleights
Oh so Sora's Fair 1 landing combo is a real thing.
Riku got all the power of darkness in the world, Sora still the same as he was back on the island *still wins* .

so basically the idea is to spam the basic jump combo every time you can safely do so. Rad.
Riku retaliates at 4 hits, so its Jump Attack, Land, Full Jump Combo to do it safely

I was stuck on this fight for so long I gave up and picked a random keyblade that was weaker for no reason(I think the little mermaid one) and I managed beating him lol looking back I think it was due to the improved MP. Back then I didn’t care about anything that didn’t give me a strength boost ignoring the other factors in combat
I didn't find him so bad but I did level grind for this fight.
How are able to fight riku at level 1?
On proud mode in Final Mix, there's an ability called Zero EXP, which disables levelling up and makes it so when you're at full health you can't go down in one hit.
You also gain a feature called "damage storage". Where after you do a full successful keyblade combo, any successive magic/summons will have their damage increased based on that finish.
However, if you swing the keyblade, block an attack or use a limit, the storage loses its effect. You'll have to redo another keyblade combo in that case.

Old school KH1 player here. It took me so many tries to beat this fool, but I learned a safe spot for his DM. In between the 2 yellow control unit thingy, his DM will not hit you, none of it cause it doesn't reach that far for some reason. I'm much better at this fight now on lower levels and still use that spot to rest and regroup 😂

This is like, what, the fourth or fifth different version of KH1, and the developers _still_ haven't addressed the fact that Donald should have a glare on his face while charging angrily at Riku/Ansem??? That's straight-up lazy.
But yeah, great battle with Riku/Ansem. I've never seen him get juggled this way.
I just realized that after all these years, it's odd to see where they do or don't use the higher quality face models in the first game.
