No wait I thought he was right handed and whenever he uses his left it’s to intimidate his opponent and get into their head that this isn’t even his best
@@Maestoso28 That's Auron, who never uses his left arm because he doesn't need to and lets it sling in his coat even though it is perfectly fine. While this might be unintentional, Sephiroth is pretty consistently left handed, which means in this fight he purposefully uses his right hand just to go easy on Sora which I think is a neat detail.

Lance Bass. I didn't mind his voice, it just didn't fit Sephiroth. I always imagined Sephiroth's voice as being a lot deeper and more gravelly, Lance Bass would have been better as Cloud or someone younger.
Ugh hell no to Cloud. No way to say this, but Cloud's VA is undisputed for his character so hell no to anyone who would replace him. I rather see Lance better off as a different Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts character. Maybe as Zell or Genesis or Kuja. Also, to admit it, his N'SYNC musics were way better than the nowadays musics.
Technically it was Lance Bass the original VA for Sephiroth. George Newbern is basically a recast for Sephiroth and then ever since he's been playing him for a long time. Hopefully he'll still reprise for the ff7remake and then every of future adaption games that has Sephiroth in it.
Plot twist: sephiroth defeated sora in a bet for smash and at this point you're never getting sora for smash Edit: MOM I'M FAMOUS!!!! and yeah I know lol
Was level 40 when I tried fighting this guy. One basic attack from his sword was a 1 hit KO while it took me 5 whole minutes to drop his first health bar. Took me 57 tries to knock him down to his last health bar only for him to enter that bs god mode... Watching this video made me realized how much time and controllers I could have saved perfecting the art of dodge rolling and guarding if I had only grinded for just a bit longer in every world.
vidant829 LMAO same tho. I remember doing platinum and barely making it to that fight and he hit me once and I died instantly I couldn't stop laughing 😂
This was the start for me.... This was my first time seeing him... I was a kid. Couldn’t even pronounce his name. I knew he must have been a big deal considering the big entrance and the badass music.... I didn’t understand how much danger I was in back then.... I understand now...
People in this comment section: “You’re never getting Sora in Smash bc you lost to Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts multiple times LUL.” Sora after his Smash Reveal today: “AM I A JOKE TO YOU?”
To this day the crowning jewel to my gaming experience has and always will be my showdown with sephiroth, I played probably over 1000 hours of KH and following a couple victories against sephiroth I figured I should craft the ultima weapon and attempt my best run at him yet. I had fought him so many times that I memorized every animation and move that he could do and it finally happened. With the help of the ultimate weapon and being level 100 I beat sephiroth taking zero damage in the process. I will never accomplish more in a game ever in my life
The reason this battle is so good is because even when you level up to 100, he is still fun and challenging. You don't mind playing him over and over again. The developers really hit the home run.
"He's got syphilis, give the man Mac and cheese. He's got syphilis, give the man mac and cheese, SEPHIROTH" Edit: never had over 100 liked before. Lucky me! And this was just a throw away comment I put
I remember that his HP was too high to display properly so for the longest time me and my brother thought he was just invulnerable and kept giving up instantly. We convinced ourselves that only the Ultima Keyblade could hurt him, spent hours farming materials to forget it, still "couldn't hurt him". Got bored and kept attacking anyway, eventually saw his HP depleting
Maminha Nox Fair enough but, I feel a bat wing sprouting from Cloud for no legitimate or explained reason is a bit weird. But it is also a bit weird that Cloud would purposely handicap himself like that.
Technically speaking he does and he doesn't. It's because the programming between cinemetics and "real time game world" aka when you're controlling and playing are different. During programming certain things are done by different people or at different times or with a different engineer group. So no it's not style or anything childish like that 😆 you just assume the Japanese wanna throw knives and wings onto a guy just for style? Comes across slightly borderline stereotype racist bro lol. It's just the fact the game has many different hands involved and many different heads in various departments of development that don't give the same uniform direction to every single dev so unfortunately the poor guy stick with the last couple minutes here didn't get clouds costume memo
I was 92 born kid. My cousin had a demo of FF7 on the PS1. He was a 87 born. So, I heard of Cloud and such because of the demo. But never heard of Sephiroth before until KH. Maybe because I was too young in the 90s to experience him.
I remember watching my dad play through kingdom hearts. One day, I got to see him take on sephiroth. At the time, I didn't know who sephiroth was. Funny thing, that same day was also the first time I heard my dad swear.
The first time I came across this, I felt genuine fear. Even knowing that Lance Bass from NSYNC is his voice actor here, I still remember how much time and effort I put into beating him. I didn't ever expect to run into Sephiroth again, and this put me into a real survival state.
@Jackal Strife To be fair,in all probability the dude`s bi at the very least.I mean the only females he shows any interest in are his "mother"(Whom he worships) and his adoptive sister(Whom he murdered in cold blood)and he`s obsessed with Cloud.
@@AspieMediaBobby nigga what he has no sexuality because first off he's dead and second off he's a God he has no time or need for human pleasures and the only reason he shows a bunch of attention to cloud is because cloud was his friend and ends up becoming possessed and wanting nothing more to kill cloud and anyone related to cloud
@thefreshprincer Sephiroth was never EVER real friends with Cloud tf? He was only a friend to Zack, Angeal, and Genesis. The reason Sephiroth is obsessed with Cloud was because Cloud defeated him in 7. The reason he fucks with Cloud in the game is just so he can get what he wants. Other than that Sephiroth was never friends with Cloud. Cloud simply admired him before the Nibelheim incident.
I remember the first time I fought sephiroth in kh2 I was so amazed on how op he was and how much I had to grind and gain abilities to actually stand a chance 😭
Me first time playing : Oh hey, this silver haired guy kinda looks familiar, where have I seen him befo- *One-Winged Angel kicks in* Me : *PTSD immediately kicks in*
In hindsight this battle from 2001 was one of the first difficult bosses in RPG games period. Like this was long before Dark Souls, God of War 4, Nioh, etc., yet Square Enix delivered a truly challenging (but still beatable) boss fight.
You know, Kingdom Hearts is one of the few games I ever played in front of my mom. It's one of the few video games she actually really liked and enjoyed. I remember the first time I fought Sephiroth. She actually told me that he scares her. I don't know if it was his presentation, or the music, or both, but yeah, it was a memorable comment from her back then. She also thought some of the giant Heartless were scary too.
I remember when I first did this fight. I didnt know who Sephiroth was, I just clicked on the fight and thought it was eerie, I ran up to him and got dusted in one hit. It took me so long to eventually beat him.
I remember playing final fantasy 7 on ps1 when I was a kid and with my first kingdom hearts game I wasn’t aware he was in the game. Safe to say when I heard that badass music hit, I froze and died in about 20 seconds. But it was cool he was in KH1 and KH2 even though I had to go ultra try-hard to win
branj18 sitting there holding guard obviously, guard wasn't meant to just be an impenetrable way to sit there being a bitch taking hits, guard was always more useful when timed and done in coordination with the actual attack rather than pre emptively blocking it. When timed and used as more of a "deflect" it gave the opportunity to either get out of danger with glide or a small window to inflict damage if straight offense was too tricky. This is the style of fighting you needed for the immune boss's who only took damage at certain times or after a certain amount of hits and damage dealt, those bosses were mostly immobile meaning you could run away and heal like a bitch because they couldn't chase you down and then charge back in like a moron and get your ass handed to you some more
branj18 yes. The true purpose of guard is to deflect, stun and make some kind of opening or buy time. Atleast of all my years playing hearts that was always the most proficient way to use guard. I spent most of the fight with sephiroth deflecting to make openings and then basically dodge rolling the rest of the time. Sounds harder but it's really not, when you start dodging constantly the boss "A.I" has to chase you down so you're automatically in the power position despite maybe being weaker. You force him to chase you for damage so that each time he lunges for you he's taking the bait because you know how his moves works, the way to get around it and then hit him, then run and repeat. Takes time but winning the fight barely being touched is alot more impressive than the guys who just buy items to cheat through it.
Never heard of Sephiroth before KH1, so I remember my exact thoughts the first time I encountered him here: "I think Im gonna die" hahahaha good memories, beat him after gearing up, getting the right set up, and after a few attemps. I wish games nowadays would make me feel the same way this game made me feel back then, but adulting...
I had never heard of him either as a kid. Walked into the Platinum Match around level 60~ thinking I was hot shit for being able to beat the game, then he slashes me thrice in the first few seconds of the fight and kills me. One of the few times a younger me was genuinely humbled by a game.
I dont remember how many times I lost to Sephiroth but I leveled up all the way to 100 with the Ultimate Key Blade and still he was a challenge. Felt so accomplished when I beat him.

Rotten Cheerio every KH player has the dodge roll mentality. Roll until safety then atk; then roll away from danger. Repeat until boss is defeated.
I blame Mysterious Figure
I took the OC’s comment at face value: stating something not asking for help or complaining that he/she can’t do it.
And then, after 500 failed attempts, you have the revalation:
"Sephiroth is left-handed... he's just toying with you."
and he isnt using his safer form or supernova.

Goes to show that if Sora DIDN’T heal, he would stand no chance against Sephiroth
Then we would be so fucked lol that why his health are more than 1 full health bar

Sephiroth sounded like a surfer dude in the first game but then again his voice actor was a singer in a band.
Like Tim Curry voicing Sephiroth?
Well, to be fair, his original voice actor George Newbern came back for Kingdom Hearts II.
Technically it was Lance Bass the original VA for Sephiroth. George Newbern is basically a recast for Sephiroth and then ever since he's been playing him for a long time. Hopefully he'll still reprise for the ff7remake and then every of future adaption games that has Sephiroth in it.
Plot twist: sephiroth defeated sora in a bet for smash and at this point you're never getting sora for smash

“You’re never getting Sora in Smash bc you lost to Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts multiple times LUL.”
Sora after his Smash Reveal today: “AM I A JOKE TO YOU?”
I will never accomplish more in a game ever in my life
I felt the same way when I played Ace Combat 4 on Ace difficulty and cleared the game without taking a single hit
The reason this battle is so good is because even when you level up to 100, he is still fun and challenging. You don't mind playing him over and over again. The developers really hit the home run.
Sora: My friends are my power!
Also Sora:
*Solo kills Sepiroth*

Misheard lyrics win
Well that's weird
One word, HILARIOUS!!!😂🤣
I’d pity him if that was the actual lyrics
I remember that his HP was too high to display properly so for the longest time me and my brother thought he was just invulnerable and kept giving up instantly. We convinced ourselves that only the Ultima Keyblade could hurt him, spent hours farming materials to forget it, still "couldn't hurt him". Got bored and kept attacking anyway, eventually saw his HP depleting
That's what I'm thinking, did you eventually beat him?
I’m ready to re-play this after 20 years.
I recently did a replay on the ps2 and I wouldn’t touch that fight until I had the Ultima Weapon and even then it took me 2-3 tries to get it right
7:46 Does anyone want to talk about why Cloud has a random bat wing for the rest of this fight scene or no?
Sorid Snaked That's one of those things that's better to go along whit, rather than question how in hell happened.
It's just style man, same thing with that buster sword, why the hell would someone do that with a freaking bladed weapon?
Slightly borderline stereotype racist.... What in the fuck did I just read.
I will love this game forever it was way too ahead of its time 😭

I feel bad for anyone who didn't get to experience Sephiroth in FF7 first. So iconic.

Can't believe we've realized that the Sephiroth we just fought in KH1 was a gay member of N'SYNC.
Jackal Strife thamk goodness we got George Newburn. He's perfect for the role.
@Anarcha Media

Blueboy0 did he appear in KH1?
You know, Kingdom Hearts is one of the few games I ever played in front of my mom. It's one of the few video games she actually really liked and enjoyed. I remember the first time I fought Sephiroth. She actually told me that he scares her. I don't know if it was his presentation, or the music, or both, but yeah, it was a memorable comment from her back then.
She also thought some of the giant Heartless were scary too.
Well boys we did it, we got our Kingdom Hearts rep:

I remember when I first did this fight. I didnt know who Sephiroth was, I just clicked on the fight and thought it was eerie, I ran up to him and got dusted in one hit.
It took me so long to eventually beat him.
My man's in smash now
I remember playing final fantasy 7 on ps1 when I was a kid and with my first kingdom hearts game I wasn’t aware he was in the game. Safe to say when I heard that badass music hit, I froze and died in about 20 seconds. But it was cool he was in KH1 and KH2 even though I had to go ultra try-hard to win

Lance Bass sephiroth fits how Sephiroth sounds in my head when I read his dialogue in ff7 more than the stoic performances later VAs would do
I always thought Sephiroth was supposed to sound kinda feminine and soft. He reminds me of Berserk.
I bet those no sora in smash people are enjoying the circus with all the other clowns
The top comment is the ring leader lol
So guard is just not a thing here. Also dodging fire? Not a thing.
I heard guard doesn't help that much.
branj18 sitting there holding guard obviously, guard wasn't meant to just be an impenetrable way to sit there being a bitch taking hits, guard was always more useful when timed and done in coordination with the actual attack rather than pre emptively blocking it. When timed and used as more of a "deflect" it gave the opportunity to either get out of danger with glide or a small window to inflict damage if straight offense was too tricky. This is the style of fighting you needed for the immune boss's who only took damage at certain times or after a certain amount of hits and damage dealt, those bosses were mostly immobile meaning you could run away and heal like a bitch because they couldn't chase you down and then charge back in like a moron and get your ass handed to you some more
Ahhh i gotcha. Now that is a better breakdown of how it should be used.
branj18 yes.
You can guard his sword. You just need a Keyblade that has a high recoil stat, like Ultima, Olympia, or Divine Rose.
I totally had FF7 PTSD when Sephiroth showed up in this battle.
3:00 Sephiroth: try bouncing back from this!
