- The final boss of Sora's story. This was the hardest boss for me to no damage. Before starting this I did not think that I would even attempt it for him. Xemnas can just spam teleport and never give you clear openings, or he can be aggressive which allows you to guard and counterguard all of his attacks. The second phase is actually the most consistent since he'll usually be aggressive and you can just guard everything he does. The buildings are also pretty annoying but I learned how to dodge them pretty easily.

If there's one thing I love the most about Xemnas is his un-flinching walk, it gives him such a dominating presence. I was kinda sad to see him not have it in kh3, well in gameplay.
How is this possible that Sora still NOT a key blade Master after seeing this? He matured a lot dammit xd

Can i just say its always a treat to fight xemnas. KH1, KH2, DDD and KH3. Hes such a cool boss fight.

i just think square did that to sora and had him striped of his new moves so they can have sora start from level 1 in kh 3

Gotta hand it to them; each game starring Sora, they find a way to weaken him so as to explain him being level 1.

Yeah this is one of my least favourite games, and the least in terms of plot. COM and Days at least fit in the world together with kh2. They wanted to milk it too much with convoluted side games xD. I'd rather have Xigbar be the guy that just wants tio see what Xehanort can do.
well the games plot has always been nonsense, since kh1. it's just here to tie the individual great moments together and it's doing that just fine.

I'm confused, at 12:52 what time is this? Does all of dream drop distance for young xehenort happen just BEFORE xehenort goes to scala, when he goes through the
?dark corridor? To leave destiny island in dark road?
All this is before Dark Road.
He lost his memories when he returned to his time after KH3, but in his heart it was still etched the desire to leave Destiny Islands, which eventually led to him being a Keyblade wielder.
The dark corridor was just Ansem creating a passage and allowing him to reach Scala.

Gameplay wise, kh3d is in my personal 2nd place, with kh2 in the first place.
Totally agree with you. KH2 form changes are just too great, and the gameplay overall is more intense and fast paced.

Sora has the 'x' mark which is called the sigil. It's a mark that all the organisation members have and sora had it in this game because he fused with roxas. A recusant is someone that doesn't submit to authority or something so bassically xenmas is calling sora a traitor but he is most likely directing it to roxas

It doesn’t mean anything, it’s just something Nomura thought sounded cool, like most of the dialogue in these games.
We know from the beginning that sora opposes the organization. Likewise, Sora’s fight here doesn’t change anything, thus Xemnas reprimanding him for refusing to submit to xehanort’s will is a meaningless statement. Because whether he fights here or not, his actions won’t have any bearing on the plot. Xemnas could’ve left him alone and it would’ve done fuckall to his fate. This is especially true when we consider that sora isn’t actually supposed to be possessed by xehanort, because then xehanort would be missing one of the 7 lights for the keyblade war he’s planning. And even if that weren’t true, there’s no clear reason why they need sora specifically to be possessed by xehanort, considering the multiple other keyblade wielder options they have. Why give up on Riku? Or Kairi or Lea for that matter? It was pretty easy to put sora to sleep, so it stands to reason it could’ve worked on any of the others. Again, pointless. Even worse when we consider that it isn’t even a prerequisite for the half-xehanorts to be keyblade wielders, so again: why Sora? There must’ve been an easier option out there, but then we couldn’t have a game with sora as the main character so we get this ridiculous speech to try and obfuscate the plot holes.
As far as the mark goes, him bearing it doesn’t have anything to do with him being a “recusant,” since sora opposes the organization whether he’s fused with roxas or not. Roxas doesn’t have anything to do with sora’s actions, and since roxas never really knows why he’s doing anything (since Xemnas just lies to the nobodies about their aims), it never really makes sense why he wouldn’t rebel.
If you look at the plot in these games from a “Nomura thought this would sound epic and enigmatic” point-of-view, everything becomes much clearer and you can begin to enjoy the poorly written story on a so-bad-it’s-good level.

@@block36079 I stopped being invested in the story midway through kingdom hearts 2. I just enjoy the Disney worlds, the music, the character designs and the mindless button mashing gameplay; even though the quality of those things is also pretty scattershot throughout the series. DDD was probably my favorite of the five KH games I’ve played.
But no, I think Nomura is a hack who can’t write (or direct) his way out of a paper bag

Honestly. Who are Xemnas and Ansem? They're clearly not Terra or Master Xehanorts persona. So who controls them?
Xemnas is Xehanort's nobody, and Ansem is his heartless so they're really are kind of Xehanort's persona
That's because they're the heartless and nobody of Xehanort by way of Terra's body, which is subtly different from if they were just the "persona" of Xehanort raw. You know how Sora's nobody looks like Ventus instead of Sora because Ventus's heart was inside of Sora when Roxas was created? Well Terra has a similar effect on both Ansem and Xemnas because Xehanort's heart is inside Terra's body, albeit their relationship is far more parasitic than that of Ventus and Sora.
@@HunterStiles651 I was thinking, and I came to the conclusion that ansem and xemnas are just apprentice xehanort with all of terras and xehanorts memories. I think he's still his own person, but with those memories, and a stronger influence of master xehanorts persona. It just made me wonder cause of xemnas in the chamber of repose, and ansem SoD talking about subject x to ansem the wise.

Xemnas is Terra's body, animated by Master Xehanort's will (soul) but bereft of either's heart.
Ansem is Master Xehanort's Heartless, answering to the stolen name of the Sage-King of Radiant Garden.
Both, however, seem to equally be bereft of Master Xehanort's memories while retaining those of Amnesia!Xehanort, which is the version of Terra-Xehanort who served as Ansem The Wise's apprentice.

Xemnas yeah, he seems more amnesiac, keeping his memories as Apprentice Xehanort while having a jumbled mess of some of Terra and Master Xehanorts memories in there as well.

The whole reason Xemnas built that personal Kingdom Hearts of his was because those hearts had nowhere to go after losing their original selves. And Nobodies are leftovers. Body leftovers connected through reality itself. Destroy the leftovers, the heartless souls have no manner of reconstructing themselves.
Why do you think Roxas has Ventus's appearance ? Sora's Heartless reconstructed himself faster, forcing his Nobody to improvise.

Xemnas' voice actor is trying too hard in the version. It makes it come off as cringey.
Its the combat dialogue that bugs me, its not as pronounced as it used to be. I think maybe its because Paul St. Peter is getting older? In regards to cutscene deliveries I agree with you.

That's crazy Xemnas always sounded great in any game he's in. If anything he didn't sound totally great in KH2 cause of the over-exaggerated screams he does
