I was driving a tractor pulling two trailers - I was 23 years old- no one on the highway, but me. It was 2:30 in the morning and there was a bright full moon- the station Rock 92.3 played this song. I leaned on the wheel and stared up at the moon while listening to this song. What it meant to me, and I wondered what I would be like in twenty years...if I made it. I still remember that night so vividly - what a great song about contemplation
Actually sat and a had a ciggy with him about 1967. Later on I saw him again at a favorite restaurant. He;s a real good man and being the same age as me........bros this man is a real mans man.
1981, I was 18, my eyes were clear and bright and my steps were quick and light! I heard Bob the first time in 1980 Against the Wind was ever the first Bob Seger album I ever had!
When you get in the part of your life where you start to reflect, we all can identify with this emotional song and feel those tears start. God this song was written for us all. Stand tough, like a rock.
I just cry and cry every time i hear this song. Soooooo miss being young, so high on living. My day in the sun is gone, given to my kids and then their kin. I thought I would be young forever.

I love Bob Seger! I would play this song for my veterans as I would take them to their appointments. One of them would request the song and would cry! He assured me that it uplifted him. It is one of my anthems!
This song reaches deep to my soul, tears flowing down my face. I don't think I've ever been a rock, but this song has helped me when I've felt beaten . 20 years, 40 years now, where have they gone, I don't know, I sit and wonder sometimes where they've gone. Sometimes late at night, when I'm bathed in the fire light... I recall...Like a Rock!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who looks at his past and wonder where your friends and acquaintances have gone! I suppose many people think about that at some point in their life!
as the sand drains from your life hour glass you do indeed sit and wonder where has the time gone. all you can do is simply hope your life has stood for something and when you stand in judgement your creator thinks so also. so many nights I have sat outside looking at the stars humming this wonderful song.
Man i love this song now that I'm old enough to appreciate it for it's depth Twenty years where'd they go twenty years i don't no..............................

Great job Thanks for sharing a great concert w/the rest of us! GOD BLESS
I am an old Vietnam Marine Vet and this song brings back a lot of memories. It seemed like I got home from Nam & was on drugs & Crown & Ice and living in Miami doing a lot of things that I shouldn't but if I didn't haul the coke all over the country someone else would had. It took me until I was 38 to finally grow up and gave it all up & I'm like BobI look back & wonder where the years have gone. I was a Sniper in Nam & had 62 confirmed kills not counting the fire fights. I don't have no PTS I came home & locked it in the back of my mind but a lot of these troops act like they are crazy and need help. I'msure some do but it's all in your mind. Larry USMC SEMPER-FI
I always wish these guys still had their old voices it's so sad that people like him have to get old. They should stay young forever just for all of us and future generations

Of course today, I am a senior , or elderly woman, however I still love music like this.
I love it that he has "mature" ladies as his singers instead of eye-candy teenie boppers like most. Keeps it REAL!!! Fine ladies too!!
They have been with him 35+ yrs. I agree
I could see his enthusiasm and dedication emerging from his rhythm guitar playing. Even after all these years, ole boy still enjoys his music.
When you get in the part of your life where you start to reflect, we all can identify with this emotional song and feel those tears start. God this song was written for us all. Stand tough, like a rock.

Great performance and Sound Quality!.The sound is better then when we saw him at the Palace in Auburn Hills, MI on the Face The Promise Tour. My wife Valerie (maiden name Grass, married name then Perry) sang backup for Bob Seger on his Ontario tour before Silver Bullet Live and Night Moves breakout albums to International Stardom. Her best friend in High School was Renee Andretti (daughter of race car champion Mario Andretti) who was Bob Seger's first wife and by whom he had a son with! We saw Bob Seger the first time in the 60's when he played cover songs and a few originals at St. Michael's Youth Dance in Pontiac,MI for $2.00 a person and later at Pine Knob Ski Lodge Clubhouse for $5.00 a person in High School!
RIP Alto Reed(Real Name Tommy Cartmel)! Sadly passed on December 30th, 2020 after a long fight with colon cancer. He was 72, and had played Sax for Bob since 1971.
Just Totally Brilliant, Bob Seger at his best, such an emotional song to start with, and played here with 100% commitment. So many people can equate to the words in this song, I know I can. Hope he Tours the U.K. one day soon, I will be there thats a cert......
Bob Seger starting a tour at the end of August 2017, as of now all the tour dates are in the US .. I would love to see the reception or if he even receives one, if he did Tour the UK. Bob probably figures since he hasn't toured there in 40 years, that he couldn't fill up a pub. PS if he has a big following their, encourage him through social media, if you got a big enough response maybe that would persuade him that he still has a Fanbase there. Just a thought, take care.
Thanks Mike...Bob Seger is still VERY popular with us ageing fans, but I think you may be right about his popularity here in the U.K......
