My mom played Bob Seger constantly when I was a child in the late 70's early 80's. She died when I was 8 years old and I will always listen to Bob Seger to remind me of her. Accomp'ny Me really brings the emotions to the surface. He's an amazing artist.

Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band are the greatest group I have ever heard. I went to their concert in 2019 and they sounded as good as they did when they first started. I danced and sang and had a great time. I am 69 years old and that was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. It was excellent! The band rocked it. I was very sorry to hear the sax player passed away. We are losing a lot of our old rockers. They are in their 60’s and 70’s now. No one will ever take their place. ❤️🌹❤️

Yes, I saw Bob and the SBB, a couple of times, over the years. Kickass shows! Amongst the best live shows I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a lot of concerts in my time.

I live 1 mile from Bob and I have always appreciated that he gave up touring for over 10 years when he finally had children in Cole and Samantha and devoted his life in watching them grow up. Enjoy your retirement Bob we will miss your shows but its time to relax again and enjoy your family as your children now know what you do for work.

I was sitting in the Nashville airport one day in the mid 80's. Across the the seat from me sat down this man who looked damn familiar. I finally figured it out. THAT'S BOB SEGER. Finally got up and said; Mr SEGER,and he said, I will never forget it,he said my name is Bob. I was floored. We went with small talk talk, but for some reason we just had a connection. Bob said, hey let's have a beer. Imagine a good old country boy from down off Monteagle Mt in Grundy county. The weather was bad and they had a ground stop on us. We sat and drank beer. Now I'm gonna say. The most down to earth,a man who loves his family. Bob, thanks for giving a good old country boy his 15 min of fame. You're not a beautiful loser. You're an incredible loser. I will send you some moonshine. Good stuff

Against the wind applies to so many situations in life including the literal thought of Against The Wind. If you doubt me, try eating an ice cream cone as you walk down the street with rock n roll length hair!

I have to agree. Although I've never met him in person, he seems like a real good down-to-earth person, willing to speak to anyone one-on-one, which is unusual for a star. Believe me I know from growing up at Tahoe and meeting literally hundreds of stars, be it musical or movie stars. I always made sure that I didn't advertise the fact that I had met that a certain person, and I respected their privacy when I met them individually. I would always basically tell them the same thing, that was I respect the fact that you would prefer to be anonymous and just enjoy the beauty of my home, because Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I'm lucky to live here, so I won't announce it out loud that I know who you are, I just want to say how much I enjoy meeting you, then I just would walk away.

Nine Tonight was mine. He starts off rockin' it, and in the end it builds up, and builds, and in the end, " Good night everybody. " It just leaves you wanting more. Maybe that is why my cassette player ate my tape in a week's time. I had just started driving a truck over the road, Quincy, Il. to Kansas City, Mo., then to Detroit and back. I bought that tape three times in one year.

My all time favorite artist. I *finally* got to see him live in 2011 (I truly thought it would never happen!) Totally worth the wait. I lost my h.s. best friend a couple of years ago. She used to lend me her ID so I could dance the night away at my very first/fav bar. Our anthem was Old Time Rock 'n Roll (live version). I can still see my gypsy soul friend rocking out to it on that dance floor. There's not a person in my life, Bob doesn't know. He's always been along for the ride.

My first Bob Seger concert was after the release of Night Moves. Golden Earring was the opening band. I think my ticket cost me eight fifty. When they played Main Street Alto Reed played his sax from a cat walk with the spot light focused on him. I remember people lighting up joints and passing them down the aisles. I have seen Bob several times since then but the first concert was the best.

An excellent interview with two amazing men. Costas is superb as a host, doesn't speak over Seger at any time. Great to get a personal view of Bob Seger and his verisimilitude and ability to pull-out memories with grace is good to see. He's a great artist and has created so many songs that have changed the world, it's heart-warming to view his humility and great story-telling skills. Thanks for posting this terrific interview. It builds on my admiration for Bob Seger as a maestro!

In 1981, as a "tween", my stepmom got me a radio and I heard BETTY LOU'S GETTING OUT TONIGHT and I fell in love with Bob Seger and music in general. 🎶
It's funny once my grandson was going dressed as some little band member for Halloween & I said, "nobody knows who that is. Ya should go as Bob Seger".
And he asked "Whose Bob Seger?" So I turned him on to KATMANDU and he's 18 now and a die-hard Bob Seger fan.
My sister promised me that they're gonna play ROLL ME AWAY at my funeral.
Thanks for the music, Bob! You were always the man 🎶🎵 💜

There are sooo many great songs in Bob's musical catalog. One of Seger's song really reflected my life at one time, called "Down on Main Street". Reminded me of Dearborn Avenue, which was the main street through my Delray neighborhood in SW Detroit. Bob Segers music will always bring back someone's memories and describes somebody's childhood neighborhood. Very down to earth guy.

I SO wish that instead of asking Seger if "Night Moves" is his best song (7:56), Costas had instead simply asked him, "What is your best song?".....and also (at some point) asked him which of his albums is his favorite (and/or his "best").
Overall though, a pretty great interview.....thank you VERY much for not only posting this, but doing all the editing you mention above, in order for us to be able to see/hear all this all in one piece.......MUCH appreciated !!

Bob Seger needs to pen an autobiography. I know he released a book, but it was more of a picture/memory book. I want to know about the details about how "Main Street" was recorded. I want to know more about his experiences of being in southern California in the late 70's. I want to know about how "Against the Wind" was recorded, and how he reacted when so many rock critics who adored his work felt it was a sell out album. He is one of the few, legendary rockers that we know almost nothing about. I don't have a need to hear about the details of his personal life and his family, but I want to read about his recollections and memories about how his records were done. I was listening to "Stranger In Town" last night, and I realized that I know more about how "Duke" from Genesis was recorded, how "Brothers and Sisters" from the Allman Bros. Band was recorded, how "On The Border" from the Eagles was recorded and how "Dirt" from Alice In Chains was recorded than "Stranger In Town." "Stranger" is an absolute masterpiece. Come on Bob, put out that autobiography! John Mellencamp is another artist who really needs to publish an autobiography. I don't know anything about how "The Lonesome Jubilee" was recorded, or what motivated him to write "Hurt So Good."

One of the biggest musical influences in my taste in music. It speaks to my soul. As I aged , I understand some of his lyrics-like the end of night moves. Ain’t it funny how the night moves, when you just don’t seem to have as much to lose…strange how the night moves. With Autumn closes it in…….speaks to me about aging and the end of life.

Bob Seger is beyond a legend. He is one of the greatest songwriters, singers and choreographers of music that has ever lived. He is a national treasure much like Elvis, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Frank Sinatra, etc. When you listen to his songs, most people can feel and remember many moments in their own lives. Also, he is obviously a very grounded and humble man and this interview is proof that not all stars/celebrities are narcissistic, egomaniacal idiots. He seems rather thoughtful and intelligent. In his heydey, before he hit it real big, he had the greatest rock voice that there was. His version of Tim Hardins, "If I Were a Carpenter", on his highly underrated Smokin OP's album is incredible and demonstrates his full vocal range and capabilty. I listen to Seger a lot, it's hard to have a bad day when I listen to Seger.
