Watching Bob Seger is always smiling time for me no matter if it's perfect or not.

My first Bob Seger concert was in Charlotte in the 70 and I fell in love with his music he wore blue cords and a white pirate shirt. I was in the front row ❤

Saw him in Milwaukee at the Pfizer forum on his final tour. Grand Funk warmed them up. When I got home that night, I wrote this. I’m not trying to say that this is some fabulous piece of writing or anything, but it does relay how I felt after the concert. Some of the names might be wrong for this particular concert, but they did all play with Bob at one time or another. I went to the newly built forum And took in its decorum I sat in my seat And got ready for the beat For that evening I was eager I had come to see Seger First there was Funk and that was Grand Then next came, The Silver Bullet Band As they took the stage I was engaged There was no rap Oh no, none of that crap They spewed forth rock so peer I was glad in my ear You could tell from the sound That Reed was in town No one could scorn When he cranked on his horn There was Campbell on base And his playing was ace Frost was on the keys And he played them with ease Abbot on guitar Is surly a star Teegarden kept the beat And his playing was neat There were 3 girl singers And they were humdingers There was the horn section That kept the bands direction There were of course more Whom I surly adore But in front of it all Was the man we call BOB SEGER He had gotten a bit old But his music is still gold I had to pull up my socks Because Seger still rocks I had seen him 12 years before Because the music I adore I had taken my kids And they flipped their lids This time around When we went for the sound The prices were bad And they paid for their dad The price was high But the music was sky When it was over I looked for a clover I wanted to wish And not for a fish I wanted it to last longer Because he is such a songer Soon his carrier will end But the music will always be friend His music is anything but meager The world is better because of BOB SEGER.

this song was played on my uncles funeral. he drove motorcycles, and one day got into a bad crash with a car, and once he got to the hospital he was pronounced dead, but they were able to bring him back, after the crash he couldn't speak that good, so it was really hard to understand him. eventually he had to be put into a retirement home. my family would visit him a lot, because well we knew he wasn't gonna be around much longer, and it was true one day he passed away. my mom gathered us all into the living room to break the news that our uncle (my moms brother) had passed away. we (my siblings and mom) all broke down in tears. when he was brought to the grave site and slowly lowered down into the ground this song was playing mostly because it was his favorite song. the part that mostly gets me when i listen to this song is "you smoked the days last cigarette" because he smoked cigarettes, and that was one of the reasons he died.
