After all those years of rockin' and rollin' and turning countless pages Bob Seger is still better than 99% of the groups/performers out there today. Rock on Bob, I will love your music until the day I die.
Sure is. I covered this tune on my channel. And I couldn't produce the sound without it. But I gotta say, I'm a 2.1 something year Cigarette QUITTER too. Not looking back either.
+Trevor Gallagher that means it's good honest music. artists like bob seger have true 'old school' talent. They can actually sing. They aren't studio manufactured (autotuned, etc). He's actually singing - not lip syncing! Fantastic!
So true! Bob Seger is gorgeous, manly and actually talented! He is the reason why I play guitar, piano and why I only date the biker type of guys... Though none of them have been as gorgeous as Seger! ☺☺
Thank you Bob! I'm 58 now, and have been listening to you for more years than I care to contemplate. But like the finest of wines you, kind sir, just keep getting better! It has been my privilege!
enterprise59 57 too and it still sounds awesome! I lost my Seager's greatest hits cd and I'm going crazy trying to find it! Just going out tomorrow and buy another!
What l love about his performances is they are literally ‘old time rock and roll’. The music, vocals, the band and the audience. Just totally authentic!
I took my wife to this concert. It actually fell on our anniversary (February 5th). This will probably be one of the most memorable anniversaries that we will have. Great concert!!
That is absolutely one of my three favorite Bob Seger songs of all time. And I love how the audience was singing along with him. Matching him Word for Word. That man is a legend.
I saw him play at the Roger's Arena in Vancouver, BC tonight. I could feel a tear at the corner of my eye listening to those great old tunes he has been performing since he was in his 20s during the 1960s. Now in his 70s, he still can deliver those oldies with the best of spirits, magic and joy in his voice. I would love to see music like this make a comeback compared to the rubbish our current generation listens to.
Class act. Bob is true to his craft, his music and his fans. His music will live on forever like a well built piece of furniture no matter what incarnation it exists in. 60 years from now someone is going to be covering his songs. Rock on bob!
I remember hearing a radio interview with him back in 1985 as his 40th birthday was approaching, and he was talking about "retiring" (at least from touring if not recording also) because he thought he was getting too old to be "playing star again" night-in and night-out on-stage. Now here he is 30 years later still going strong! I can still hear exactly what he said in that interview: "It hasn't stopped being fun, but...[pause]...I'm gettin' old..."
My first Bob Seger concert was in Charlotte in the 70 and I fell in love with his music he wore blue cords and a white pirate shirt. I was in the front row ❤
Our dear friend Mike Rush played this over and over again! He was a Pipe fitter and when he had leave his family for work on the road for weeks at a time 🥰😢 ! RIP Mike
The first time I heard Bob Segar was during my first week of college in 1975. I saw him live a few months later for the first time. I've long since lost count of how many times I've seen him since but each show has been as great a performance as that first one so long ago. I still enjoy the music as much as ever. Thank you for a lifetime of great music.
IT is now 2018 and I only discovered this MAN's "MUSIC" about a year ago. Hell I dipped out. THIS SONG especially....OH DEAR LORD.....THANK YOU from South Africa !!!!
I've been listening to his music since I was born. I'm 30 & his music's golden (way better than the junk I hear on the radio). This song's perfect for driving.
Even though I have heard this song maybe 100,000 times, I think this is the best "it's hell on the road" song. It describes real situations such as being teased in the restaurant about his long hair.
A man who ensured the music industry for many many years before he started to get the adoration he deserves. He didn't give up. I love the end of the song when he sings here I go and pure joy on his face.
Claudia Stockman I don't get why he is so underrated! I found his music by chance witgout having his name heard for once and now can't stop listening to him!
Have seen Bob Seger in concert 8 times in 8 different states! Bob Seger is the best musician ever and Alto Reed was the best saxophone player and Bob’s best friend! Losing Alto 12/30/20 was an incredible loss for Bob and all of us! Bob Seger is a true Rock and Roll Legacy! Patty Caruso, Lake City, FL
@@bruceradz Thanks Bruce!! Have you seen Bob Seger in concert? He moved from Detroit, Michigan down here to Naples, FL. He’s performing at special requests and last year, his 3rd wife told him if he didn’t stop making music she was leaving! He said “See Ya”! That’s all he knows since he’s 17 years old! He also rides a Harley Davidson like I do! He rides his bike onto the back of concert halls. If you ever want to see a pic of his place in Naples just let me know!
Thanks for the info. It can be hard being married to a musician. I saw Bob many years ago in Michigan, that's where I am. You wouldn't be from Michigan would you? And yes, I would like to see those pics sometime 😊
Good Morning Bruce!! I’m Patty Caruso from Lake City, FL. No I’m not from Detroit. I was born in Baltimore and grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The last time I saw Bob Seger was in Detroit. I’m on a posting group with him. He’s 78 years old. His birthday is May 6th. I’m not always great with my phone number but to send you a pic I believe I’ll need your phone number so I can make a contact. Please let me know if that’s okay with you! Patty Caruso, Lake City, FL
this song was played on my uncles funeral. he drove motorcycles, and one day got into a bad crash with a car, and once he got to the hospital he was pronounced dead, but they were able to bring him back, after the crash he couldn't speak that good, so it was really hard to understand him. eventually he had to be put into a retirement home. my family would visit him a lot, because well we knew he wasn't gonna be around much longer, and it was true one day he passed away. my mom gathered us all into the living room to break the news that our uncle (my moms brother) had passed away. we (my siblings and mom) all broke down in tears. when he was brought to the grave site and slowly lowered down into the ground this song was playing mostly because it was his favorite song. the part that mostly gets me when i listen to this song is "you smoked the days last cigarette" because he smoked cigarettes, and that was one of the reasons he died.
My dad Bob loved aBob Segers music. He passed 4 yrs ago. I miss him dearly. I sit here at 3am listening to this and it brings so many memories of my Dad. RIP DAD ♥️ by.. Sheree
Awesome doesn't begin to describe the talent that is Bob Seger. No songs transport me back to that time like his do. It's like entering a tunnel to the past and all that was good.
Grew up in Ypsilanti, MI in the late sixties listening to the very first Seger stuff. Numerous stories about Bob. My cousin once told me that her and her girlfriends went to the old Wamper's Lake Pavilion and saw a GREAT BAND in concert called then The Bob Seger System. Then there's the story from back in the late '70's of when Bob tried to buy a sweet, mint, white-on-white, '57 T-bird off a buddy of mine as he was working on a car at his Dad's gas station in Ypsi. He was on a dolly underneath a car doing some strut work, when a guy walked up and said he was interested in buying the white T-bird parked out front. Mike (it's owner) was sick of people walking in asking that same question when there was NO FOR SALE SIGN on it. He said as politely as possible, "sorry, bud, the car's not for sale!" As he was sliding out from under the car to confront the would-be buyer, his jaw dropped. Who was it? Bob Seger himself, in the flesh!!! Bob said, "Are ya sure? I'll make ya a REAL, GOOD DEAL!!!!!" Mike said no, but thanks for all the great music! And he drove off, no doubt, "against the wind." :-)
Would've been a better story for the owner if he would've sold it with the stipulation that Bob sell it back to him if he ever gets rid of it, a Bob Seger car might be worth some money.
AD77 I couldn't agree with your more! He still sounds freakin awesome! Today's music isn't even close. He tells a story and brings out your emotions! I get freakin goosebumps listening to these old songs! Nothing like it!
Still 1 of the greatest singers out there,, I grew up on this, I loved I lost love , I laughed and I cried listening to Mr Seger, I thank you sir for being on of my legends, and a super hero of music.
FANFUCKINGTABULOUS... Good Grief... and you're Still the Same. WOW. (btw, kudos to whoever filmed that with a cellphone, cuz it was pretty darn steady)
I love this with all my heart .. I swear i have listened to this at least 200 times in the last few weeks. If it had a repeat option it would stay on it...
Timeless song by a timeless musician! Have loved Bob for what seems like forever and still remember seeing him the first time as The Bob Seger System. Love how he goes from hauntingly soulful songs to Old Time Rock and Roll!
Growing up in Detroit I had the privilege of seeing him a number of times including 4 out of 5 concerts when he recorded Live Bullit. I was at this show as well. Been listening to his music since I was 13. Today I'm 65
How many artists out there who can sing and the whole arena sings with them... for every song? I've seen a lot of artists live, Bob Seger is hands down the best... It's not even close!
Seen Bob live many times and to hear a stadium full of people sing along and know every word is an incredible experience. This video brings back that magical experience shared with 20,000 others. Amazing man, music, and memories.
there's nothing like a legend that still loves his craft.. Eff the audience he has nothing to prove to them but he does have to prove to himself that he's still got it. It's a bonus that he can give the audience their moneys worth at the same time.
I am SO glad this GREAT GREAT artist decided to give his fans a little more of him! So fortunate to see he a in 2006 promoting his Face the Promise CD!. He still sounds as good as he ever has! THANK YOU BOB for keep us entertained with your great music!
hehehehehe, gift from a kind-hearted nice to see handsome sing. we had a wonderful time, I came home n told my son he sounded just like his records. rock on handsome.
The moment this song entered my life I was 8 years old, driving in my very absent fathers lap-my hero. During a Christmas break, leaving Walgreens, sitting in his Jeep CJ7 at s stop light, s,Ellington his True Blue cigarette burn into the air….I began to cry because I knew he was leaving again. Gone…. Strange how a song can burn a moment…through a persons entire life. Turn the page….
After all those years of rockin' and rollin' and turning countless pages Bob Seger is still better than 99% of the groups/performers out there today. Rock on Bob, I will love your music until the day I die.
Im 22 now and my children will remember him in 60 years.
F*king goosebumps as the public sings with him the whole song.. Amazing, love it.
Pablo Benitez that's when you know it's a hellava damn good song..
Same here bro, It's powerful stuff!!
Exactly! Been like that since I first saw him in the late 70's!
You know u have the real stuff when everyone sings along. The only other place I've seen this was at Hank Jr concert.
I also saw him too in the 70's. He stilll sure has got it.
A master, a true professional, a performer who cares about his audience and fans. Rarest of the rare.

Theodore Seemule yes he does

The "whisky"soaked voice,,who's opinion'?Bob is talking about himself,,,what is in his heart-not your opinions. This song is about life-not music.
Beautiful voice matches the beautiful man he is all heart and soul, love him to death.
I love Bob Seger had a eight track with this song had 2 get the cD!
I love how the crowd sings along the whole time

I was one of many
I never get tired of listening to Bob singing. Even in his older age his voice is phenomenal. what a great musician
I totally agree. If anything, his husky voice adds character to this already great song. Like a fine wine, it gets better with age.
Awesome! We need more Bob Segers and less Justin Biebers these days.
Josh Wilson so true.
exactly
100% on target comment..
SO VERY TRUE
So true!
Bob Seger is gorgeous, manly and actually talented!
He is the reason why I play guitar, piano and why I only date the biker type of guys... Though none of them have been as gorgeous as Seger!
☺☺
God Bless this man hope he keeps rocking till he's 100
When that sax hits, it doesn't matter what part of the song the shivers hit you and then the crowd loses their shit
Watching him live,,,he still looks awesome!!🥰💖❤🧡💙💜

The definition of American Rock! Masterpiece!
What a perfect example of pure, American Rock. Love this man!
I don't care how many times this song is covered nothing compares to this mans voice...he just makes the song come alive
Still so much soul in that voice. He can still belt out what many others can't.
And he is 73

His voice is a bit gruffer, but that just ads to his music.
