I finally dipped into Old Forester products recently. OF 1910 is dessert in a bottle! Dark sugars, toffee, coffee, tobacco, milk chocolate, toasted marshmallows, graham cracker, nice oak/baking spices! The lower proof in my opinion isn't a problem. Russell's single barrels are really good! I got my friend Russell's 10 and Russell's single barrel (not a store pick) for his birthday well because that's his last name ironically. He can't believe how tasty the single barrel is! MM 46 cask strength has a label/bottle in line with the regular MM cask strength now. They rarely show up in my area but I have seen them. JD SBBP is sort of available in my area. All the 130+ proof bottles have been picked over already unfortunately. I mainly see 127 or 128 proof now. Pinhook is sort of a rare bird here. It's available but limited selection. Fiddler I don't think I've seen here. Could be here though. Peerless DO bourbon is good, but not as good as Peerless DO rye. Stagg funnily enough is what most people on the forums and facebook groups in my area are trying to trade for/buy. They get Weller's or Rock Hill Farms or Blanton's and they try to use those as trade fodder to get Stagg. But people aren't biting really, they're keeping their Staggs. I would also, Stagg is too hard to come by to let go. At least around here. Stagg or as I refer to it often, barrel proof Eagle Rare! 😆 Regarding Old Forester. I initially picked up the 100 proof signature bottle. It's very similar to the black top Early Times but not quite the same. I like the taste of that 100 proof for a $21 750ml bottle! I've been searching for 1 liter or 1.75 liter bottles now in my area. People tell me Cooper's Craft Barrel Reserve 100 proof is the same mash bill as the former black top Early Times. The Cooper's Craft is intermittently available in my area. Still need to get that one. I also picked up 1920. That one has been disappointing so far, I really hope it opens up as it airs out. Smells like acetone and tastes like bitter cinnamon with a strange varnish finish. I mixed it with some cola and it got even worse. Tasted like wet popsicle sticks! Just strange given the tasting notes and general positive reviews on it.
Thanks a ton for the thoughtful comment 😀. It is strange the notes you got on the 1920, especially since you like the 1910. I have not tried the Peerless Double Oak Rye and will need to find a pour someday as the regular double oak just wasn't my jam. Stagg is rare mostly everywhere, but I just hunt like a madman and get lucky from time to time 🤣. Hope the 1920 opens up and have a wonderful day! Cheers ~
Nice video! My bottles that I will buy again are Russell’s Reserve SB, Knob Creek 12, Eagle Rare, which is a nice one to have for a low proof sip and a mixer. What I will not buy again: Blanton’s, Henry Mekenna Sib BIB 10 years as it’s not worth the price anymore. Wild Turkey Barrel Proof: it is good but I just didn’t feel like going back to it again. I like older whisky so anything 10 years will have a high consideration for me.
That knob creek 12 is a slam dunk buy more for sure 😆. Surprised at the Wild Turkey Rare Breed, but like you said, if you don't go back to it, no need to have it 👌. Thanks a ton for the thoughtful comment and have a nice cool Sunday! Cheers ~
Great vid David, looks like I finally need to give in and plunk down the cash for MM 46 CS. OF 1910 will be a bottle I will never be without. On sale for $40 your area is just incredible. It's $60 here and I've never seen it on sale.
Maybe people here in California buying too much liquor but there are new stores popping up left and right, which is causing a little price war, which I like 😆. If you're into wheated bourbons, you'll definitely like the MM46CS 👍. Thanks for a wonderful comment and have a nice cool day! Cheers~
For some reason, most maker's Mark private selects run around $20 higher than the 46 CS... so I'll most likely be getting the 46CS until that changes 😆. Thanks for the suggestion and have a nice cool Sunday! Cheers ~
Hey Tony! Stagg 23C is an underrated one but that's good for me as I seem to be able to find it (somewhat) over the other batches 😆. Let's hope 24A is a good one as well! Have a nice cool weekend and cheers~
5:17 bought a 7 year pinhook Vertical last year. Mighty tasty but they're too proud it. At least 10 bucks per year. Get it if you find it in a fire sale.
That's probably the best method to try these Pinhooks is to wait for a sale. I got my 7 year at $55 so I don't regret it but if I got it at retail of $90.. probably would have hurt 😆. But then again, I haven't opened it so I'll do that soon. Have a nice cool day and cheers~
I’m new to the channel, and loving the content. One of my slam dunks is Elijah Craig toasted, but even the small batch I also enjoy. I have a strange way of selecting my faves. It’s after the glass is finished. I let it sit for a couple hours and then I come back and get a sniff of just the glass. If it smells like a good cigar then it’s my kinda bourbon.
Hey Mario! Doesn't matter what method you use, long as it works 😆. I do that as well the morning after and see how different the aroma is with all the alcohol gone. It is fun 😁. Thanks a ton for your insightful comment! Cheers ~
Love these videos. I always keep back up of 1910,I'm not a WT guy so I have those but they are never more to me. MM 46 csfo burgundy label is amazing and I recently bought another. JD bp always backed up as well. Fiddler is a back up for me and it's $15 cheaper in GA. At retail Stagg is a Pokémon, gotta catch em All,😂 Cheers
Hey Jonathan! Love it! Catch all the Stagg at msrp that's for sure 😆. If the Fiddler was $70, I would have probably kept it at a "buy" rating but at 90+ here, it was a tough downgrade to "hold". It's a nice pour but for some reason, I just didn't go to it very often. Thanks for all your support 🙏. Super appreciate it all and cheers~
Most people absolutely enjoy the Peerless Double Oak and the reason I upgraded to a "hold", but even though I tried hard to like it, it just wasn't my jam. Thanks again and cheers~
Man, that hurt a little to see Fiddler a never more/hold…. Huge fan of that one and was actually sipping on it last night thinking just how much I enjoyed it. But this is what makes whiskey fun! We all are drawn to different bottles and flavor profiles! Great video! 🥃
Hey Vic! The ASW is a nice pour but for some reason.... I just don't reach for it. Everytime I have it.. I'm like I should have this more often.... then I don't reach for it for weeks. It's a odd thing but also the ultimate test on if I do like it. So I had no choice 😕. Never know, I'll probably get another one in a year or so 🤣. Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers ~
I agree with your picks especially the Stagg. Not sure if you reviewed the 24A yet, I picked up 3. Wouldn't want to influence your review so I'll leave it at that. Cheers!

Great video. I totally agree with you on the Stagg 23C but I do favor 22A a little more. I always check the proof on those JD SBBP whenever I'm in a store. Keep it up! 🥃
22A is a super fantastic batch but my weakness is the chocolate & coffee bitterness that balances out the sweetness and fruit.... which 23C does better. But can't go wrong with either! Let's hope to find a 140+ proof JD SiB bs this year! Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers ~
David, Great content as always. You know I'm a fan boy of both OF 1910 and Peerless double oaked. Price not being considered I think you just can't go wrong with the Peerless. Just a little bit more deep flavors in it. Maybe due to non-chilled filtered ? I just don't know when we can meet up. You really need to give this High N Wicked "Jury" a try. May just have to make trip out next week end? D

Did the Ben Holliday tour last week. Great time. Tasted their entire line including ancient cave collection. Thought I would like the spice the best based on the profile but I actually liked the smoke best. I did pick up one spice ancient cave and two smoke. The sweet was good but finished third so I passed
Interesting! Smoked version of Ben Holladay?? I need to go to that distillery someday 😆. Thanks a ton for your insightful comment! Super appreciate it and cheers~
Hey Joseph! It is a whiskey channel after all and most people are here to learn about whiskey, not my personal life so I try to stay on the subject 😄. Thanks for your kind words and what are some of the bottles you are going to buy again? Have a wonderful day and cheers~
Absolute favorite for the money: Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof. Woodford Reserve Double Oak, Will pass on Peerless DO because of the price. E. H. Taylor Small Batch, I have an unopen single barrel. New on my journey. I just ordered RY3 Cigar. Of Course I will always keep like a 1920 Old Forrester.
I thoroughly enjoy bottles of Stagg. I own the 23C and think its great --- the lower proof works better for my palate. I just don't find them at MSRP anywhere in New Jersey! In fact, I've never seen them for less than $175 and typically they run between $200-$300.! I paid $175 for my 23C, but I don't regret it at all. Cheers!
Hey Thomas! Sometimes we just have to treat ourselves and if that means getting a Stagg at $175 is it, then let's do it! I would rather spend 175 on something I'll absolutely enjoy then 100 on something I might not like. But hopefully the allocation will get better so you can enjoy more of it at better prices 😆. Have a nice cool day and cheers ~
Have you tried any balcones. I'm in the straight boubon whiskey, red label. It's an interesting pot still whiskey. If you like funky scotch, you might like it. Brace your self for interesting, funky, bold, carmel tofee treacle.
Hey Frank! Russell's reserve is one of the best brands around and a good single barrel will ease your pain of not having a Russell's reserve 15 😆. But I hope you find one this year at an reasonable price! Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers ~
I wish I could find stag for under $125. See it 200 bucks to 400 bucks in Maryland. And I have to agree the ASW Georgia Hartwood is good but it’s not something I keep going back for and I have a special release from the distillery as well as a bourbon. Judge pick of the heartwood cheers David.🥃
Hey Michael! Stagg needs to be produced in mass as more people need to have the ability to enjoy this beauty 😆. But regarding the ASW, it is odd. Absolutely love the first couple of pours.... but tailed off as I kept having more... and those picks you have I heard were some of the best. Hopefully the price will decrease (or age increase) so I will be tempted to buy another one 😁. Have a wonderful Sunday and cheers ~
Stagg 23C is an "underrated" batch (if you can say that for a Stagg) due to it's proof point but it's an amazing pour 😄. Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers~
Now that you watched my video, the good luck will carry over and you'll find a stagg at a reasonable price this year 😆. Have a wonderful week and cheers ~

ASW Georgia Heartwood is a nice pour and a bottle I enjoyed for sure. I have seen many people share that opinion and I respect it 💯. But I can't agree with it 🤣. But if either one of the whiskeys is in front of me, I would be happy with it 😁. Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers ~
$120 for a Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye is quite expensive. That would be a pass for me. I have not tried Pinhook rye whiskey but if I find one at $35, I would probably give it a shot. Have a nice cool day and cheers~
Hey Kevin! I heard Wild Turkey is doing a pop up store in September so hopefully you can get one then! Thank you so much for watching from Korea and have a wonderful day! Cheers ~
Peerless is quite expensive. I think back in 2018 or so, that was an OK model as there were not too many barrel proof whiskeys out there, but now, it's a different story. I think they should rethink their business model as I want them to succeed, but not sure they can do this with their price points.
Hey Mike! Maybe you had the truffle flavored oil? Real truffle oil is very expensive but is one of the wonders of the world 😆 But I agree with you on the truffle butter, that's delicious as well. Have a nice cool weekend and cheers~

I have been too scared to try any of the Balcones yet. 🤣. Maybe someday I will.
Still waiting for an RR 15 than again i like all the Russell's that are ,I cleaned out my Stagg it was definitely good.🥃
OF 1910 is a gem
I agree on that the entire whiskey row series from old forester are a gem (except 1924 due to the price 😆).
Have a fantastic evening and cheers ~
Stagg 23C is worth paying for.
Stagg 23C is an "underrated" batch (if you can say that for a Stagg) due to it's proof point but it's an amazing pour 😄.
Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers~
I wish I could find any Stagg for $130 in MD.
Now that you watched my video, the good luck will carry over and you'll find a stagg at a reasonable price this year 😆.
Have a wonderful week and cheers ~
I think that Pinhook is now coming out of the Castle & Key distillery.
Hey Brian! I did not know. I'll have to do some research on this. Thanks for the information and have a nice cool Sunday! Cheers ~
Good to know. The old stuff was MGP

@@WhiskeyBank thanks!!!
Heartwood is waaay better than 46 cask even at the 2x price 10x better value
ASW Georgia Heartwood is a nice pour and a bottle I enjoyed for sure. I have seen many people share that opinion and I respect it 💯. But I can't agree with it 🤣. But if either one of the whiskeys is in front of me, I would be happy with it 😁.
Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers ~
This is my sign to finally get a bottle of 1910. I’m a big fan of 1920
If you love 1920 and like woodford reserve double oak, then you'll absolutely enjoy the 1910 😆.
Have a nice cool Sunday and cheers ~
Just saw localy daniels sbbp rye 130 proof for 120$ yikes. I bet its tasty but oh boy it's $$ up there. Pinhook rye is delish for $35 or so.
$120 for a Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye is quite expensive. That would be a pass for me. I have not tried Pinhook rye whiskey but if I find one at $35, I would probably give it a shot.
Have a nice cool day and cheers~
23c for the W 🤝
That Stagg 23C is an underrated batch and one I'll enjoy for a while as I want to savor it 😆.
Have a fantastic day and cheers~
Bought pin hook 5 at $45 or 50 i think a year or more ago. decent but maybe not again.
Pinhooks can be a hit or a miss and for me, it was a miss. 😆
Stagg baby…. Yeah😂
Stagg for the win! 😁
Have a nice cool day and cheers ~
This is Korea, I don't know if I can get it, but I'm trying to get Russell's 15 somehow and drink it.😂😂😂
Hey Kevin! I heard Wild Turkey is doing a pop up store in September so hopefully you can get one then!
Thank you so much for watching from Korea and have a wonderful day! Cheers ~
All of the peerless is 90$ plus, most is around 100$.
Peerless is quite expensive. I think back in 2018 or so, that was an OK model as there were not too many barrel proof whiskeys out there, but now, it's a different story. I think they should rethink their business model as I want them to succeed, but not sure they can do this with their price points.
I'm going to be furious if they put truffle oil on my pasta. It smells like Meow Mix, and it doesn't even come from truffles. Truffle butter ftw.
Hey Mike! Maybe you had the truffle flavored oil? Real truffle oil is very expensive but is one of the wonders of the world 😆 But I agree with you on the truffle butter, that's delicious as well.
Have a nice cool weekend and cheers~
I will take a OFSBBS over stagg but I will pay 120 for a stagg
Hey Darrell! Those OFSiBBS are wonderful pours I certainly love but over Stagg... that's a statement! 😆.
Hope all is well and have a nice cool Sunday! Cheers ~
Peerless is so over rated it’s unreal
I was so excited to try the Peerless Double Oak when I got it and maybe that hype and anticipation is what got me.. but it was alright 😆. But I understand why people like it and respect that 👌.
Have a nice cool day and cheers ~
🫡🤘🏼 loved it
Thank you sir 🙏.
Have a nice cool Sunday my friend and cheers ~
I pulled a Rusty Lugnuts and passed out when I was replying to your video Saturday evening. I did hit the like button, but could not remember if my comments got through. 🫣 Found 2 bottles of Stagg 24A and was disappointed in the neck pour. Sure hope it opens up! 🥃
Hey Dave! Don't worry about it~ I'll always be so appreciative of all your support and love you have shown me since I first started this channel 🥰.
That being said, surprised to hear that about 24A!
Have a nice cool day and cheers ~
